Welcome to my 7th annual Secret Santa List. For those of you who are new to the list:

I run this list as a central location to let your Secret Santa know when your (hopefully much appreciated) gift has arrived.

Use this list to record what your Secret Santa sent you and remember to include any comments such as thanks that you want to give your Secret Santa. When you post on this list, you may want to make a note on your profile with a link to your entry so your Secret Santa can easily locate your confirmation of delivery and your reaction. That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be released!

Please only make an entry when you actually receive the present! This assists those of us who read the list regularly as recipients are adding their gifts in a chronological order. No placeholder entries, please.

I find it very handy to put a link on your profile page so your Secret Santa knows where you have posted the feedback so s/he doesn't have to sort through 2000 entries to find yours quickly.

To see all previous years' editions of this list and to give the new Secret Santa participants an idea of how this works, look at these links:

"2011 List"

"2010 List"

"2009 List"

"2008 List"

"2007 List"

"2006 List"

Further helpful hints:

IMPORTANT - When you get your gift(s), take the time to "Add Item" to this GeekList rather than place a comment at the bottom of the list. This helps the statisticians out there.

A good example of how to make an entry containing multiple gifts is located at: this entry.

Making an actual entry will also make it easier for your Secret Santa to locate your Item.

If you would like to taunt your "target" while maintaining your secret identity, you can do so using the Santa logon. Just log yourself off and close any BGG windows (if you don't you take the chance of being discovered if the new username doesn't take) and log on using this info:

Username: santa
Password: password

I hope you have a terrific holiday season and enjoy the list!

Stopped by the break room at work today and low and behold, there was a package with my name on it waiting for me. I saw it was from CSI and I knew immediately it was my Secret Santa. Wooo hooo!

Also, included was --

I really like Richard Borg's Battlelore and I wanted to give this one a go. This is as close as I've ever really been to playing a wargame. We'll see how it goes. I'm looking forward to playing it over the holiday!

This is my first time participating in the BGG Secret Santa and boy did I get an awesome Santa. He has been taunting me for a while now bringing me smiles everyday. A package arrived yesterday and he told me I could open it so here it is:

As you can see he was a very generous Santa and I wish him blessings all the way to distant Russia. He definitely did his research and noticed that I had expansions/promos for Rattus but didn't have the base game. His pick of St Petersburg was fitting too since I believe him to be from Russia. I hope him and Snow Maiden have a wonderful Christmas.

I can't wait to play! Thank you again!!!

I picked up the kids from school tonight and when I arrived at home, their sixth sense started to go off... There was a box behind an open door in our patio... So they immediatly wanted to know what that was. I couldn't remember ordering anything, and I didn't think Santa's present would be here already, but it was!

The kids really, really, really wanted to open the present, and you know, when they have there puppylook, there is no dad in the world that can resist... so I let them open it (Sorry Santa, I don't know if you wanted me to wait or not )

I didn't take long with the help of my three lovely little piggies:

and then: Shadows over Camelot & Tichu

Thank you Santa!!! Thank you!
I hope to play these soon!

I was just about to head to the lab for an evening of in-process lab testing when the UPS man knocked on my door and delivered a brand spanking new copy of Founding Fathers. I love this period of history and this game helps bring a bit of it alive for me. Thanks so much Santa!

So, I had just gotten Linus down for a nap, started the new season of Merlin on Netflix and got my knitting out to work on when the mailman came with a box for me!!!! Santa gave me permission to open and enjoy and that's just what I did.

Not only did Santa give me The Red Dragon Inn but also The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim!!!

So now instead of knitting and watching Merlin I will be playing Skryim! Thanks Santa! You're the best!

When I came home from work today an unexpected package from a game retailer was waiting for me. I couldn't resist to open it and on top of the package I saw a slip of paper with "From your Secret Santa" written on it. Enthusiastically brushing aside some of the filling material. I discovered

in the box. A game from the top of my wishlist! Excellent choice Secret Santa!
But wait, the box seemed to be to big for that one game so I removed Libertalia from the box and below it there was

Secret Santa you are awesome! Thank you so much for your fabulously generous gift. I can't wait to put both of these brilliant games to the table.
I wish you and your beloveds all the best and a merry christmas to everyone.

Edit: Just to clarify, I did not get the actual game Space Pirates. I just chose the entry because Santa sent me an awesome space game and an awesome pirate game, so Space Pirates seemed to be the natural entry to sum this up.

Today I got my package
I didn't open it yet and it won't be before Xmas eve! (man this will be hard)

But the strangest thing happened to me.
While I was getting my presents for my target at the guys from boardgmeshop.eu they presented me my present(s).

Coincidence????

Now how incredible is that, looking for presents for your target and getting the present yourself in the same shop??

I start to believe again.
Santa, you really exist!!!!
And I found you thanks to Secret Santa on BGG.

Foto's will follow.

UPDATE

Man, I had a generous Santa this year(like I was trying to be for my target), Gears of War and the yellow sign expansion for MoM

I must have been very good this year

Thank You Santa

It's Christmas Eve and I'm opening my gifts. The have sat by my bookshelf long enough, teasing me, taunting me, saying their own name just as I step out of the room. Bastards.
As I pull the skin off the first game it thrashes a bit but I whisperer calming words of seduction. It doesn't take long before the wrapper is but a crumple on the floor and it stands before me, its true self - Mission: Red Planet. It tosses it red locks and tires to hold my attention but there are more packages to to conquer.
I move on to it's talkative and slightly skinnier friend. It yields much more easily, almost as if it's pleased to be free of the dance, of the tease. That was all just a lead up to the real game Hive.
I'm pleased with my night but see a small shy one hiding in the corner. There is an air of mystery. I gently introduce myself, aware that I mustn't rush things. Slowly it yields to me and as it does I realize that this is the release it's been looking for after these long weeks in my house, never willing to share it's secrets. It introduces itself as Fleet. This is my first encounter but I am intrigued. We'll see each other again soon, very, very soon.

Thank you Secret Santa for the lovely gifts and also for the Candy, card and Bentos. I truly enjoyed it.

My Secret Santa was terrific!

Santa gave me three games (!) from my wish list, and I can't wait to try them all.

I have read enough about Kingdom Builder to believe it will be a great family game. Having enjoyed Vaccarino's Dominion game, this should be a hit.

Dixit 2 will add 84 new cards to our Dixit and Dixit Odyssey set, which should provide endless hours of unique combinations of cards.

I've read good comments about A Fistful of Penguins. Our family group enjoys dice games (as well as board and card games), and this one sounds like a quick and fun filler.

I couldn't be happier with my gift. Thanks so much, Secret Santa. You did great!

Additionally, my Santa did a wonderful job of keeping me informed and used my favorite nearby game store (Time Well Spent), so there were no shipping costs (thus the additional game, I believe). The package, which was boxed and sealed, contained an invoice which stated the games were "From your BGG Secret Santa." A class act all around. Fortunately, my Santa told me to open the box immediately. It's difficult to imagine receiving a Christmas gift before Thanksgiving, but lots of fun, and these games may be played on or soon after Thanksgiving Day.

Merry Christmas to my Secret Santa and to all of you; hope you are as fortunate as I have been.

Sigh. This is the part of Secret Santa that I hate. You know, the part where I have to call out those deluded souls who believe that they have the best Santa. Nope, as in every year, *I* have the best Santa. And this year, I have PROOF. I got the usual intro taunts and inquiries about the jr. gamers in the house to let me know that Santa was like the Spalding logo-on the ball

Off to In which Davido celebrates his delayed 5-0 at BGGCon

Friday afternoon after a good session of gaming, I'm catching up on the geeklist and email in the room. When.

A knock.
at the door.
My door.

WTF? I had the privacy sign out, no room service/maintenance request.
Open the peephole and see a uniformed hotel staffer outside.

He grins ear to ear and hands me a plastic bag.
With a game.
For me.written in black sharpie on the shrink wrap:

Quote:
David-Thank you for being a very good boy this year! Here is your first gift! SANTA!

I mean. Seriously? A great game that the Princess totally digs. Delivered to me while I'm at a Con? And there's MORE? Santa, Not enough pixels and bytes in this computer to begin thanking you

update: Now Santa is TEXTING me? Santa is so the Omniscent Observer wow

Santa told me that he and the Mrs. were travelling to someplace warm this year so my gift got sent out early, so I had no hesitation opening it early. And WOW, what a gift!

First thing on top was a nice little note letting me know the gift was from my Secret Santa. It was attached to a Spin-4-It. Very cool little deciding device. Underneath was the first gift:

Hurray! A top rated game, for whatever that's worth, but something my wife and I have been wanting to play. Off to the side of this one, almost hidden by the packaging materials was the next surprise:

Whoa! Not expected, not on my list, but a great surprise that will fit in very well with the family and friends as card games always tend to go over well. Thank you tremendously, Santa, for this one. I thought that was it, but the clever folks at Games Surplus who shipped the item managed to cover this one up entirely and not until I lifted the box and realized that it was heavier than cardboard alone did I dig and find...

I'm speechless. This is my first Secret Santa and I was blown away. I was ecstatic after the first two, but adding this?! Just amazing. Thank you Santa, whomever you are. Hands down best online community I've ever been a part of and I only hope that my target is half as amazed as I am when he receives his gift. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Yesterday, I found a message in my mailbox that I could pick up a package at the local post office. Convinced that it was one of the whole bunch of stuff I ordered recently on the web (a new smartphone, some hard to find (at least in Europe) expansions from the US, etc.), I went to the post office and was rather surprised that the package indicated amazon.

At home, I opened the box and found a small note from Santa, a nicely wrapped present and -unfortunately- the invoice, clearly indicating "Noblemen".

So, yes Santa, I'm a good boy, not having unwrapped your present yet, but I know already what's in it. The main advantage is that I can safely pass my wishlist for other Christmas games, the disadvantage is definitely the impatience, caused by the "cult of the new".

But as I still have a lot of games from Spiel to read, try and play, I decided to open my present
1. at Christmas
2. when all new Essen games are played at least once.

I certainly let you know when I played my first game of Noblemen.

And of course, to my -not so secret anymore- Santa, a big thank you!

Wow, this game must have some incredibly powerful aura! I had just barely opened the box and tore off the shrink wrap when someone from down the hall who I had never met came to my door. As I answered the door, he saw the open Mage Knight box sitting on the desk behind me and asked, "What's that?"

"Oh, just a present from a Secret Santa that just arrived."

His eyes got big as he hesitatingly asked, "Oh, that looks sweet. Can I play?"

"I just opened it. I haven't even read the rule book yet," I reply.

"Man, that game looks so awesome! Let's just take it out and figure out the rules while we're going along," he replies...

Thus, a new friendship has been formed.

Thanks, Secret Santa! Not only did you give me a super awesome game, I've also gained a new friend in the process!

Well right out of the gate my Santa was taunting me and being a super info ninja on me and a scant few days later I have a huge box delivered by the fed ex man.

Not only was Trajan in there but.
Dungeon Fighter

Edo

Power Grid: The New Power Plant Cards

As if this wasn't enough I was instructed by Santa not to buy anything off my wishlist until after Christmas lest I get put on the naughty list and could expect Candyland or Cranium Ziggity even.

Also the reindeer would not let santa forget my Dog Albus this year. Santa has made this a year to remember and it's not even December yet.

I will tell Albus not to bark when he hears the reindeer hoofs like he did at the fed ex guy.

edit: I linked the wrong power grid item so they were not homemade.

Addendum:

I had the opportunity to play both Dungeon Fighter and Trajan over the weekend.

Let it be known they are both awesome and my secret santa is even more cool for hooking me up with awesomeness. I have no doubt that Edo will rock my world as well, and Powergrid with some new cards is awaiting me soon.

Thanks again Santa for making this a great Christmas.

Update:

Well Santa struck again with a big old box for our dog Albus. And a little two player goodness for my wife and I.

Albus made a puppy haul, I don't remember him being this good this year but I suppose Santa couldn't be wrong.

And not to be left out another game for Lisa and I.
Agricola: All Creatures Big and Small

As I'm working on what I'd like to do for my own target, I wonder about my Secret Santa.

In previous years, I've received Geekmails with taunts, puzzles and other stuff.

But I hadn't heard yet from my Santa this year!

"Oh well, it's still early" I say to myself.

Lo and behold, I arrive home from work today to a package awaiting me.

Wondering what it could be (surely my present hadn't arrived this early, right?), I tore into the package.

Inside, what do my eyes behold, but

Android: Netrunner!

And underneath it:

Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game!

Awesome! Thanks Santa!

UPDATE

Alrighty, so I'm sitting at my computer doing my homework and the door bell rings. Since I'm the only one home, I go and answer the door.

To my surprise, a huge box from Amazon! I don't remember ordering anything and I already got my secret Santa gift, so it can't possibly be for me, right?

Wrong!

Inside:

Twilight Imperium (Third Edition)!!!!

NO FREAKIN' WAY!

I was already super happy about the gifts I had gotten, but this really takes the cake.

Santa (and it says "A gift from Jeremy Henrichon", but I can't find him in the users!), you're the best!

Best year ever!

I received an email right after our target were assigned. It was a tracking number for a gift that was on it's way.

I received my package yesterday. Since there was no instruction from Santa to open or not, I opened it, thinking it was something I had ordered. It was apparently my gift from my Santa!

Unfortunately, I already have this game. Not sure if my wishlist was updated after it was bought, but I tried to do that beforehand. Still fun to get gifts in the mail and participate!!

Thanks Santa!
(UPDATE)
I received a HUGE box before Christmas. I was seriously wondering what it was and who it was from. I knew I had not ordered anything else for my husband.
I opened the box to find 4 wrapped presents

I opened the first to find Android: Netrunner, then tore into the next package to find Dominion: Hinterlands, super excited about this, I love Dominion and can't wait to tryout the latest! Next up were the two smaller packages. I had a feeling it was map expansions for Formula D and I was correct, Singapore the Docks and Valencia!

Santa, you outdid yourself! Amazing haul of goodies this year!!!

Wow, I can't believe the generosity of my Santa this year!

Not only did I get this great game that I wanted so bad, but was also excited when I saw this.

I love these solo DVG games and I was so excited to see this one in my box. I had been eying this one for along time. This is probably the first one to get to the table... Like TONIGHT!

Last but not least was this beauty!

I was dumbfounded at the generosity of my Santa. It's like he read my mind and bought three games that I would have reached for myself.

Two of these were currently in my shopping cart at Coolstuffinc as it was.

THANK YOU so much! I hope you are reading this. Not only was this super generous, but it came at the end of a very hard and long week.

What a way to start the weekend!

There's also the Key Master Lord of the Quarry promo card included.

My secret Santa gift arrived today! My parents order Christmas gifts through various websites and we're always getting packages delivered around this time. I knew I had not ordered anything lately but thought my father had ordered something and somehow possibly put my name instead of his. I asked him if he ordered anything lately and said that he had so I had him open it up in case it was something I wasn't supposed to see. That's when he said, "Uh, no, I don't think I ordered these." He held up the two games that my secret Santa sent me! Luckily, I received a taunt from my secret Santa telling me that it was ok to open my gift if I had been a good boy (and of course I have)

Thank you, thank you, thank you, so much secret Santa!! You were very generous and I am really appreciative of your generosity

I don't even know where to start with this one!

I got my package today and there were 3 wrapped boxes! Couldn't help myself; I was like a kid at...well at Christmas. The first I opened was Dungeon Petz, which, yeah, that nearly completes my Vlaada obsession collection. So I was enormously excited already, but really you can only go downhill from a Vlaada, right? And I thought...second box is small, something like a filler, maybe? An expansion? Accessory? But then I opened it, and behold!

Biblios! So stoked to learn this one! Definitely NOT what I was expecting. And then there was the third. It was heavy. And clinky. You know what I mean.

Battles of Westeros! GACK! surprise

Probably the best gift of all was that my wife just finished the final pages of "A Feast for Crows" (as in 10 minutes before I explained how to play), so she was VERY receptive to playing a game about Westeros! Sweet. She is not a wargamer of any sort at all, and tactics are not really her thing, so getting her to sit down and play a "hex-y" (her words) game was pretty much the best thing ever. She even "sort of" liked it, and wouldn't mind giving it a second go (she seldom likes games the first time round, anyway). SCORE. On so many levels.

Very excited to open up and punch/learn the other two. Awesome gifts, SS. Thank you! Your generosity is extreme!

Wow, I have an awesome Secret Santa. The box arrived this morning with notice by doorbell, and as befitting a proper Santa was disappearing from sight as I opened the door. I continued to be a good girl and did my full day of work before allowing myself the pleasure of opening the box. Two games form my wishlist and two other games - I have obviously impressed Santa.

I received Stone Age, a game I enjoy as do many others in the group I host. Then there was Lancaster, a game I have played and look forward to playing again.

Next was Dominant Species, a game I may have played once, it looks interesting.

And finally came Fleet, a game I know I haven't played but looks like something I will enjoy.

Thank you to a most awesome Secret Santa.
