Welcome to my 7th annual Secret Santa List. For those of you who are new to the list:

I run this list as a central location to let your Secret Santa know when your (hopefully much appreciated) gift has arrived.

Use this list to record what your Secret Santa sent you and remember to include any comments such as thanks that you want to give your Secret Santa. When you post on this list, you may want to make a note on your profile with a link to your entry so your Secret Santa can easily locate your confirmation of delivery and your reaction. That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be released!

Please only make an entry when you actually receive the present! This assists those of us who read the list regularly as recipients are adding their gifts in a chronological order. No placeholder entries, please.

I find it very handy to put a link on your profile page so your Secret Santa knows where you have posted the feedback so s/he doesn't have to sort through 2000 entries to find yours quickly.

To see all previous years' editions of this list and to give the new Secret Santa participants an idea of how this works, look at these links:

"2011 List"

"2010 List"

"2009 List"

"2008 List"

"2007 List"

"2006 List"

Further helpful hints:

IMPORTANT - When you get your gift(s), take the time to "Add Item" to this GeekList rather than place a comment at the bottom of the list. This helps the statisticians out there.

A good example of how to make an entry containing multiple gifts is located at: this entry.

Making an actual entry will also make it easier for your Secret Santa to locate your Item.

If you would like to taunt your "target" while maintaining your secret identity, you can do so using the Santa logon. Just log yourself off and close any BGG windows (if you don't you take the chance of being discovered if the new username doesn't take) and log on using this info:

Username: santa
Password: password

I hope you have a terrific holiday season and enjoy the list!

I came home from some Christmas shopping and walked up to my door. There, between the outer door and inner door was a package from Amazon. Since I do a bunch of online shopping for Christmas, I didn't think much of it and thought it may be my wife's package. Nope, it has my name. Hmm, I must have forgotten an order.

Open it up. SECRET SANTA! 51st State is a card game I've been waiting to buy as in my comments beside the game I had stated "I'm waiting for the second edition, which has more tokens and will have some printing errors fixed." Well, this is the second revised edition! My SS wrote a note saying, "I hope this is the one you were holding out for." It sure was, Santa!

Excited to get this out in the next few days with my wife, as we both enjoy games like RftG.

I came home today to a box on my doorstep. Nondescript, but I knew what it was

There were no instructions otherwise, so I opened it up. Inside I found this:

Amazing! And far too generous . Upon opening, I found the following

Thank you so much Santa!

So, I got a notification the other day that something is shipping to me by UPS. Hmmm... could be my six week delayed kickstarter. Communication on that has been yuk

Fortunately I had the day off, and the box arrived. I opened it, and well, I had completely forgotten about my Secret Santa. Or, shall I call him Mr. Benny?

In any case I open it to find not 1, not 2, but 3 very nicely wrapped gifts, looking like this:

All of you who are wondering what these wonderfully wrapped packages contain will just have to hope the world doesn't end tomorrow. And since it's already tomorrow in some parts of the world; you'll find out Tuesday-ish, when I open them. Sorry, I'm not peeking.

Thank you, Mr. Benny, er, Secret Santa.

Thank you very much to my very generous Santa- a wonderful package arrived today, and after a long day at work, I couldn't resist opening the goodies. In addition to the excellent Merchants & Marauders, a game that takes me back to the old Pirates! on the NES, I received a copy of Small World , a game for which I have several small expansions but didn't actually own the game yet! I also received The Rivals for Catan, a two player my wife and I will enjoy, and Forbidden Island a great co-op to play with our younger relatives.

Thank you very much Santa! and Merry Christmas to everyone!

Oki, I just want to make another post in here, cause My santa this year was very very sneaky.... Yes he actually conspired with one of my friends in doing a double Secret Santa extravaganza. Well I'm getting ahead of my self, but I just need to give the laydown first.

This year besides being a part of the BGG Secret Santa, I was a part of another Secret santa group in our Board Game Group in denmark Called Bastard Cafe. This is a group of people who meet up every Thursday to play games as well as go to Essen every year.

So this year I thought I had a Santa that didn't say much, both from my Bastard and from my BGG, untill I posted a little thing on my Profile, that said that I was nervous that I hadn't heard much, and lo and behold I got a little letter from my Santa saying that I had a package comming but I was to follow his instructions and not to open it before his magical Elf told me to.
The package arrived and I wrote to my santa that I got the package and I hadn't opened. He wrote that He wanted to have it confirmed and I posted a picture in here that it wasn't opened. Days when by, weeks years... Well oki maybe not that long a time, but not being able to open the package felt like it.

Today my boardgame group held xmas lunch together, and there was Secret Santa present Swaping and alot of fun from all. I wasn't able to go there until very late in the evening. So I got my package that wasn't from BGG santa, and I opened and it was Quarriors, a game I had been looking forward to, a Dice Building game. I like Deckbuilding, I like randomness when you need to get the best out of the random, so this was a great gift.
But then something odd happened, something I didn't expect, cause I mentioned that I was still waiting for my BGG Santa to tell me that it was OK to open his present, and I had been waiting for it, when my Bastard Santa turned around and told me that He knew about my Secret Santa and that he was the magical elf and gave me permission to go home and open my Santas present....

The road home was long....

Getting home I almost didn't get my coat off before I opened my package from my BGG Santa...

YAY, two expansions for Quarriors... Quarmagedon and Rise of the Demons, and a Dice bag from Fantasy Flight...

Wooop wooop... I wrote my Bastard Santa, and he was laughing saying he knew all along and that he had planned this with my BGG Santa to give me something special with expansions this year....

Thanks a bunch, to my BGG Secret santa for maybe not being the most talkative Santa, but for scheming and ploting to get me something really really nice.

The parcel from my secret santa arrived a little while ago and I am very slow posting this! A parcel was waiting for me when I got home from work with not one but three wrapped presents! My daughter was insisting the I wait to open them on Christmas. Luckily for me I received a message from Mr and Mrs Claus saying that I should open them so I could enjoy them right away (I had to show the message to my daughter before she would agree, haha).

Upon opening the presents I found 3 great games:
Castles of Burgundy
Once upon a time
And Hey that's my Fish!

Thank you Santa!! I'm still waiting to try Castles with my game group (soon, I hope), but I have played the other two and they are a lot of fun!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Received Galaxy Trucker via boardsandbits. also inside the box was a copy of a card game called "Lemonade Stand" which I am in turn giving to my friend's kids as a mini gift. Yay!

I was just at my FLGS looking at Galaxy Trucker, but it was $79 (uh how "friendly" is THAT???) so I didn't buy it. I think my Santa noticed that I like hardcore Ameritrash, but I also like getting friends over, and I've heard Galaxy Trucker is the perfect game for this. I'm going to bring it when I see my family this Xmas.

Thanks Santa!

About a week ago, I got a message from Santa telling me that my package was on it's way. Apparently, Santa likes to support his local game store so it took a little extra time

Well, of course, I got excited every time there was a box on my porch (and there's been a lot of boxes!!), but it never came cry This morning, I checked the mail and found a delivery notice from the post office ... oops, it had been in the mailbox since Monday but I somehow missed it (okay, the reason is because my mailbox doesn't have a door (knocked off by the neighborhood hoodlums) so we just drive by and only stop if there is something exciting in it). Anyway, off to the post office I went, first thing this morning ... or it could have been slightly after 9:30am Of course, they searched and searched for my box and it took three different people before they found it!! I was very excited to see the Secret Santa return address

I decided to wait until I got home from work so hubby could open the box with me. We opened it up and found two games!

and

We are very excited by both games. Race for the Galaxy is something I was interested in, but not sure about. My Santa said this is one of his favorite games to play with 2 or 4 people (which is what I was looking for). I'm really glad that he choose this one for us, especially because it's a game he really likes. We broke out the rules and are planning to play tomorrow, I think we will have a lot of fun with it!

Forbidden Island is a game that I've had on my wishlist forever. We really like Pandemic and I think we will like this game too!

This was my first year participating in Secret Santa and I had a really good time. My target was awesome and so fun to buy stuff for. I'm pretty sure I had the easiest target ever, but I won't go into all of that here. My Santa was stealthy but really cool.

Santa, thank you so much for the gifts and the great letter. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you and your family!!

And I was very eager to get to my ludo-outaouais game night yesterday! On top of that I had set up a game with Dany to try our new kickstarter Agents of SMERSH that just arrived A few minutes after I arrived, Dany arrived with about 40 games, including my SS gift cool I first opened a nice looking card:

I was surprised and happy to see that I had to wrapped boxes! I opened the first one, and was very pleased to find Survive: Escape from Atlantis!, the 30th year edition from Stronghold, a classic game I just got to play a few weeks ago and instantly put as a wish list "must have" item to game with my family. Fantastic!

I then proceeded to open the second package, which ended up being Libertalia, a game I also just played a few weeks ago and enjoyed. Excellent!

On top of that, another friend, another Dany too(!) had just bought 2 packs of promo metal coins for Libertalia and gave me a set to go with my game laugh Thanks Dany!

Times are going really great nowadays. What a wonderful season!
I arrived home from work today to a huge smile on my 5 month old's face. Not gonna lie, its the best feeling a man can get. Today, my wife also had a wry smile, and pointed to the dining room table. !!! YEA! I knew SANTA wouldn't let me down this year! Being the strong silent type, I was anticipating this but had no idea when he'd pull through...

So this year, I received the 2 new Thunderstone Advance expansions. Thunderstone Advance: Caverns of Bane and Thunderstone Advance: Root of Corruption. Awesome! I used to have a Thunderstone collection, but traded it away without trying the Epic Thunderstone variant. I tried that once, and IMMEDIATELY regretted trading it away.

Well, I opened these up, and I think I'm going to need to convince the wife I need to now buy Thunderstone Advance: Towers of Ruin. It doesn't look like either of these expansions have the base cards to play... yikes!

Thanks Santa! Definitely wanted, and we'll get to playing it soon!

This is my first time participating in BGG's Secret Santa, and I had been eagerly waiting for my package ever since my Santa 'taunt' me with several geekmails.

And look what I get!

So many stuff in one box!

Laying them on the dinner table. The gift-wraps are so nice!

Games
Dungeon Heroes (PnP)

I totally forget I put this one on my wishlist, so it's such a surprise. And being a amateur PnPer, it's extra sweat to receive a PnP gift.

Finca: El Razul

Finca is one of my favorite family game, so this little expansion is great. I imagine this one is harder to get.

and last but not least...

It's 2 de Mayo! I can actually tell that simply by looking at the present itself, but it's still fill my heart with joy when I open it. So for this Christmas, I receive 1 game, 1 expansion, and 1 PnP, plus a whole lot of goodies like:

Candy and Chocolate!

Star Wars Drawing Book!

...Erh, wait, I'm not a 10 yrs old
Well, to be fair:
1. I'm a huge SW fan.
2. My drawing skill is worse then a 10 yrs old.

So a big THANK YOU to my secret Santa, and I wish you a happy holiday, too!

I arrived home last Wednesday after a late night gaming at the Lisbon's Weekly BG Meeting to find a card from the postman, stating that a large package from Germany was waiting for me in the post office.

After a failed attempt to go home earlier in order to get to the post office in time, I decided to wait today until it opened, before going to work.

As I opened the box two brightly wrapped packages looked upon me... as well as something wrapped in German shopping pamphlets.

I unwrapped the pamphlets to find a purple Santa holding a very small package. Regrettably it lost it's head and left arm, broken in transit, I suppose...

I'll try to wait until Christmas to unwrap them but I can't make any promises devil

-------------------------------------------------------------
Update:

I opened the three packages (including the tiny one...) and found Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game and Quo Vadis?.

In the tiny package there was an old Benfica lapel pin (from the late 80's, early 90's, I suppose as the club symbol got a little update in '99)

Thank you so much Santa... and the pin was a wonderful personal touch.

Yesterday a box arrived on my doorstep. Since I hadn't ordered anything from anywhere, it must be my ninja - Secret Santa's gift.

Inside the box was a beautifully wrapped present.

I think I've felt two items inside. One a blister type thing (I'm guessing either a ship for the X-Wing miniatures game or the Deathwing Expansion for Space Hulk: Death Angel. The other one is a bigger, rectangular box, but I haven't got the slightest clue as to its contents).

I must have been a very good boy, since I don't have to stand the agonizing wait-with-that-present-taunting-me-from-under-the-christmas-tree that many of my fellow Geeks here on the site have to go through. Only 3 days left untill Christmas Eve!!!

Update

After being told that I shouldn't wait to open my "geeky stuff" untill the Christmas party, I tore into my Secret Santa's present. After removing the wrapping paper, I discovered these nice gifts:

- The Spanish Army Expansion for Commands & Colors: Napoleonics. Although I don't own the base game, this gives me the perfect excuse to move it even closer to the top of my wishlist.

- Another TIE Fighter to add to my ever-growing Imperial swarm.

Thank you very much Santa! Merry Christmas to you and everyone else on the Geek!

I received a message from Santa almost 3 weeks ago informing me that he'd sent his elves off to Post office. Apparently they survived the long journey by dog sled because approximately a week later a package did arrive. It was a fairly heavy package with a large box and I was fairly certain of it's intent (I had nothing else ordered or anticipated)

I of course waited little time to tear it apart and rub my greasy little mitts all over what lay within! I was quite pleasantly surprised to find Defenders of the Realm.

I absolutely LOVE Larry Elmore...when I first saw this game I was very interested and quickly found someone at the local gameday to give it a try with. I immediately enjoyed it and knew it was a game I wanted to add to the collection but upon seeing the price tag I balked...I had hoped I might find a deal on it at some point...

I have to admit I really didn't expect this from Santa...definitely an above and beyond gift. I have had a chance to play it once and we all very much enjoyed it. I've been dying to play this with my brother, but we have both been way too busy so far...we'll have some free time around the holiday and we definitely plan to play it then.

Thanks again to my very overly generous Santa!
