Contest Closing Date
31 January 2013
All BGG users!
This is the first time I'm trying out doing a contest, so please bear with me if I get things wrong, or calculated incorrectly. Due to time zone differences, and real-life commitments, I may "freeze" the "thumbs up" count at anytime on 31 Jan.
1. What can I include in the image?
Take photo(s) of a boardgame(s) to create the comic. As long as the image shows at least one game component of a boardgame and some text, it's good.
2. How do I add dialogue or text to the image?
Use an image editor. It can be Photoshop, Microsoft Paint, or any free online image editor.
3. How do I upload the image into my gallery?
Go to your user profile. Select "Gallery" tab. Click "Upload Image".
4. How do I add that image to the entry in this Geeklist?
After you uploaded the image, there is an ImageID. Copy that number. In the entry, click the icon that has the hover text "Insert Geek Image". A pop up window will appear that says "Enter ImageID". Paste the number and click enter.
UPDATE 13 Jan 2013: opps, sorry for the confusion on rules
5. Will drawn comic be accepted?
The idea of the contest is to showcase actual board game components. As long as a photo picture of at least one game component is shown in the final image, the rest can be hand drawn. 100% hand-drawn entry is not qualified for this contest.
6. Is it okay if I did not take the picture of the game component?
Ideally it'd be better to take the picture yourself. But if you have permission from the person (your friend, your sister, another BGG user, etc) it's okay.
7. Must I have text or dialogue in the image?
8. Can I include other pictures (human, cats, dogs, famous person, non boardgames related objects, etc) in the image?
Yes, as long as at least one game component is shown.
9. Can I submit another work I've created a long time ago?
Yes. But in the spirit of fun, I would encourage you to create a new comic
