There are are many games that are released to the public to print out and play. Right now I am not in a position to be able to buy many games so I love the idea of being able to print some new games. I am not talking about games that people have scanned so others can print them. The games I am referring to are the games that people created for gamers to play and enjoy at no cost.

I would appreciate your comments on any of these games you have played.

*I have updated the list to allow public additions. I was able to keep up with all the great new free games being released!

"It is the year 1940. France has surrendered. The British and the remains of the French Army have retreated across the English Channel. Germany now controls the whole of Western Europe. The United Kingdom stands alone, waiting for the Germans to strike. Hitler approves plans for an upcoming invasion of the United Kingdom. A plan called Operation: SEALION. The invasion of the United Kingdom is about to begin!"
No longer free. I recently purchased a copy, and it is very, very well done.

Battle Leader Tactics (BLT)

From the Rules:

"Have you ever wanted to match the tactical brilliance of Napoleon versus the charismatic sheer will to succeed of Alexander the Great? Do you want to see how Caesar’s ingenuity flourishes with the use of mechanized
infantry or missiles? How about seeing Genghis Kahn flying in low over the steppes to terrorize his opponents with attack helicopters? Go into battle with some of the most feared and successful military leaders of all time. Use the same tactics they used to win their battles. Fight with the military forces revered throughout history. All this is possible with the abstract wargame--Battle Leader Tactics (BLT)."

BLT is a component and introductory game for the Battles Leaders Tactics & Technology (BLTT) master game. BLTT is an abstract wargame that depicts some of the greatest military leaders (e.g., Alexander, Napoleon, Caesar, etc.) commanding historical units in some of the world most decisive battles (e.g., Megiddo, Zama, Hastings, Waterloo, etc.) using proven tactics of history. BLT serves as a basic game introducing players to the interaction between army units, leaders and tactics. BLT allows players to command standard troops (e.g, infantry, cavalry, artillery and guard) and special military units (e.g., 300 Spartans, Panzer Army Afrika, etc.) with historic military leaders using real tactics and fog of war--all without any dice. The primary resolution engine for the game is housed in the Tactics Results Chart (TRC), which compares tactics selected by the players and determines losses, if any, of army units.

Components:

21 Leader Cards
24 Tactics Cards (12 for each player)
28 Army Cards (14 for each player)
10 Special Army Cards
1 Tactics Results Chart
1 Rules Booklet
1 Leader Card Explanation Sheet

Deadly Harmony is a game that attempts to capture the flavor of old Kung-Fu movies of the 70’s and classic arcade fighting games of the early 90’s. The game-play consists of players keeping hands of cards that represent their potential options. Players execute combat moves by playing cards simultaneously. In the midst of combat the psychological heart of the game unfolds; the players must outwit their opponent by looking for tells, bluffing, and knowing their adversary better than he knows himself.

Supersurf is a game of championship-level sky-surfing, or power-boarding, in the world of Judge Dredd. Each player creates a surfer and a custom board, and races to the finish line, braving dangerous obstacles, at great heights and great speeds through one of 2000AD’s Mega-Cities. Four “Supersurfs” have been depicted in the pages of 2000AD. Marlon “Chopper” Shakespeare won Supersurf 7, held illegally in Mega-City One. Supersurf 10, held legally in Oz, was won by Jug “the Wizard of Oz” Mackenzie, winner of the undocumented Supersurfs 8 and 9. Supersurf 11, a blood sport in Mega-City Two, was won by Chopper, as was Supersurf 13, back in Mega-City Two – then being rebuilt as a new Sino-City, and without the bloodbath.

Doc Boffin
Combat Cards is a turn based card game of dueling warriors. Players build decks which determine the attacks, blocks, special fighting moves and devastating combos available to them. Skilful Combat Cards players learn the cards and combos available to their opponent during the game and use that knowledge to anticipate their future moves, exploiting them to inflict heavy damage while avoiding damage themselves.

Initially developed in Second Life, Combat Cards is now available for purchase from http://us.shop.combatcards.co.uk (US) and http://uk.shop.combatcards.co.uk (UK) and as a print and play edition from http://combatcards.co.uk

A (very) quick playing real-time rummy style game the aim in Pest Control is to clear your hand of pests (cards) before the other players.

Players have a hand of 7 cards, which they play down by making nests (melds) of 3 or more cards either of the same type or in sequential order, i.e. a run. Cards may also be added to nests played by any player. On their turn players either pick up a card off the draw deck or the entire discard pile, they then discard a card. However cards may be played down by any player at any time during their turn or other players turns,in other words the game can end at any point, meaning you have to keep a close eye on what the other players are doing and how many cards they have left. Cards left in the hand score negative points, the person with the lowest points at the end of the game is the winner.

Pest Control is a print & play game by myself and my wife which can be tried out first with an ordinary pack of cards if you are only playing 2-4 players - instructions here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/404942

To make the full game all you need to do is to make two decks of 52 using this album:

http://www.artscow.com/ShareAlbum.aspx?Key=phz8xot8

Rules can be found here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/filepage/42356
Hope you enjoy the game, any feedback or comments would be appreciated.

25. Board Game: Rickety Ships [Average Rating:8.00 Unranked]

Game Designer
Rickety Ships (aka: Space Nertz) uses 2-4 standard decks of playing cards and poker chips or pocket change to partially simulate the experience of the space-truck building phase of "Galaxy Trucker". This game is in no way meant to be a build your own "Galaxy Trucker" game nor should it be played instead of playing "Galaxy Trucker." Instead, Rickety Ships is meant more to serve as a new experience for groups who regularly play speed games like "Nertz" or "Pick Two!"

Rickety Ships is played over 3 rounds. In each round, each player seeks to build his own ship from the supply of cards in the middle of the table, attempting to earn as many of the 5 victory points available at the end of each round. At the end of the 3rd round, the player who has earned the most of the 15 available victory points is the winner.

Factories, Yukk, and Petting Zoo Gangsta are all free print-n-play games.

I printed out Yukk to use in class with spanish kids learning english, it's a great concept and really workable and fun although it was necessary to play with card ratios. In class we warm-up with the kids thinking of their own yucky foods, rating their yuckiness and then making their own cards before playing. It's fun and it's didactic. Thanks for making them man.
