I've found several lists doing it vice versa but I didn't find one like this, so excuse me if it was done before.

Beginning in the 80ies videogames began to influence board and or cardgames.
It was mainly Milton Bradley (MB) that published a lot such games. Nowadays it seems to be the domain of Fantasy Flight Games and Eagle Games.

I did not include games where it was not clear whether they are based an a pc game or the comic or the movie (like Judge Dredd, Popeye etc.)

So prepare to meet some games you share fond memories playing them on your console or pc some years ago!

Let's begin in the stone age of computer games shortly after the "big bang" called Pong.
It's Frogger of 1981, one of those famous games in the early 80ties.

Now it began also the time when every game could be copied due to easy manageable floppy discs and the industry had to deal with that problem (still, until today).

Speaking of the computer game we are now arrived in the early 90ties. No more 8bit homecomputers but the era of personal computers began.
Doom was the game to revolutionise computer based gaming by introducing that first person shooter. How hard was it to get that BFG9000 gun without cheating.
As a boardgame, it is a very modern design by FFG and surely well known in our BGG community.

No one on BGG seems to know anything about this game.

The computer version of X-COM was the most addictive computer game I ever played. The final battle was something of a let-down: I went in without 10 times more firepower than I actually needed.

The DOS versions released in the US had a flaw in that selecting different difficulty levels changed the gameplay very little, if at all (I have both the floppy and the CD-ROM versions). But... find a copy of the version that was converted to Windows (same DOS graphics, just a straight port to Windows) and sold in Europe, and crank the difficulty up to maximum on THAT one, and you are in for a HUGE challenge!

I've got some fond memories playing this boardgame. We'd pretty much ignore the rules and simply fly around shooting each other and whatever random objects we threw on the board.

As for the arcade version, I think I remember playing it a few times, but I was more into Xevious.
