Hmm, and it all started out quite innocently... I bought a copy of Roads & Boats, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Then I noticed that the donkey on the cover seemed to be staring at me... I got the expansion, and again there's that donkey!

While each player is, of course, responsible for their own actions, I can't help but feel that the donkeys are secretly controlling the whole thing, even arranging time to reproduce, as if that wasn't clue enough?

I hoped that it was all kept neatly within the confines of the game, then the other day I noticed a Donkey Sanctuary along the road from my house - are they preparing to take over the world? Is it a donkey conspiracy? We've had the film "Snakes on a Plane", how long 'til we get "Donkeys in your yard"?

So, I'm starting this list, help me fill it and find all the donkeys, hiding in their games, so we can root them out and surender to their superior intellect!

Here we have exhibit #1 - the cover of Roads & Boats - looks innocent enough, but it's smiling, IT'S SMILING, what does the donkey know that we don't?

And so we come to exhibit #2 - the cover of the expansion - notice that since the last game, the donkeys have invented planes and bombs... don't you feel threatened yet? As to what a donkey would need electrical current for, I daren't think...

Ahah! And so it begins!

I feel confident that by the time we get to the end of this list, we'll discover that it would have been quicker to list the games that don't have donkeys in them.

Many thanks for contributing to the cause, Joe.

Who would have thought that donkeys could detatch parts of their bodies at random, a la Robin Williams in Baron Munchausen? Clearly some clever plot to be omnipresent...

I was influenced by "the donkey" to make an unofficial expansion for Carcassonne "The Well & The Donkey", based on a Carcassonne Folktale.

This donkey takes one's meeples straight to Hell though!

Beware the Donkey!

Did you know that if you take all the tiles from all the Carcassonne expansions, and put them all together, it makes the outline of a giant donkey? All those bridges over parts of the city are, in fact, the donkey having it's ears crossed...

A card game where the score is kept by donkeys racing? And yet the winner is the donkey who doesn't finish the race first.

Oh, they're sly ones, those donkeys!

I agree, the donkey strategy here is clearly to 'lead from the rear', sacrificing all others to achieve their aims. Also, as we know from Roads & Boats, donkeys are obsessed with sex and like to stare at other donkey's loins...

It's a little known fact that the translation of the old testament was incorrect - it was, in fact a donkey that whispered to Adam and Eve, not a snake, and what it said was "fancy a carrot?".

Yes, but look at that smile, the same smile as the one exhibited by the donkey on the cover of Roads & Boats. I say he's a donkey mole, placed to spy on humans in a pantomime-human suit, one donkey in the front, one in the back.
