My first game and I made some mistakes at the betting. Very fun, this wasn't the last game.

The rules were a bit complicated - but if you know the game, you can play fast with the overview on the last page. Funny game with a bit of tactic and a good portion of luck.

Introduced a Memoir'44 player to the russians. It was not possible for him to defend Moscow.

My first game with lore. I'm a big fan of the command & colors game and this is fantastic if you can handle the more chaotic events because of the lore cards.

Yes, you should. :-)
There are so many "Spiel des Jahres" around ... well, to be more precise: there is one new one at every AOU-Con!
For me, a good (board)game invites us to play it multiple times. I discovered Caylus just recently, and played it a few dozen times, but still don't really understand how it *really* works. THAT'S a good game, if you get my meaning...

It's a tradition to play every con a game of Cosmic Encounter with several expansions. We still use the original EON issue. This year without moons it was a very fast game with 6 players. I shared the win with the forth player. No 5 and 6 never had a own turn ;->

We planned a Memoir'44 tournament but didn't get the necessary six players although enough players of M44 were at the con. Instead we played two games of M44 Overlord. It was agreed to repeat this the next year.

Best game indeed. But, imho, since "1835". If not since "Titan". (Also see my comment about this on Turn&Taxis.)
Caylus comes with beautifully crafted materials, the game's topic is a (politically?) amusing one, but this is true for many games. What makes Caylus so very unique is the game technique. To learn what to do is rather simple, turn by turn - but how to develop a strategy is still a mystery to me, even after playing so many games.

Looong (only one of the four starting players was still playing at the end, with a fifth one sitting in and winning) but interesting. Card luck might be important.

This is almost a traditional at AOU-Con. This time we played with 6 players! It's always nice to remember step by step how to play this.

And we played a lot of Melody-Click at AOU-Con which is not on the BGG list because it is not a published game. Melody-Click is a music quiz where you hear a sample of a pop song and have to guess artist and/or title. Faster correct answers gain more points than slower ones. You need special hardware and a beamer to play this.

Looong but worth it. Still cannot decide which power I like the most to play. Each has it's own advantages and disadvantages. Thanks to Habsburg for accepting my suing for peace and sorry to the Pope for stabbing his back (could you please remove that excommunication?)!

Decent game (SCNR). My first playing, but I will surely play it again. Adding much more aspects and fun things to the experience than Doom without making the rules more complicated. Thanks to the guy (sorry, I forgot your name) who jumped in during midgame.

Nice game once you figuered out how to move efficently. The pitting rules need some re-work or we just played them wrong. I still prefer Formula Dé though - has much more racing atmosphere (collisions, blocking lanes, better pit stop rules etc. - yes, I like the luck element in FD).

Whoa! Exellent game. Although we made a major mistake (in our favour - it was too easy to close the gates) during the game it was a fun game with 7 players. Even with so many players the downtime between the turns were acceptable.

Epic and great game. Although some insight (not only rules knowledge) is needed to really get involved in the game and make the invested time worth it. Thanks again to the guy who jumped in during midgame and took over the almost crushed green race. He almost won the game! surprise
