Well, 2007 has started out with a bang! (and no, we didn't play Bang! yesterday). We moved to a new FLGS that has plenty of space and we had almost 40 people there at one time playing games!

Thanks to Albert (Fractaloon on BGG) and Kevin Eagles with Command Post ( www.commandpostonline.com) for donating some sweet games for the door prize drawings! I think all the winners were quite happy.

Here's the game list breakdown. I know I'm missing games so I'm counting on the UBG group to help out here :)

To get more info on our group msg me or visit our site -

That scenario wasn't very good. There's a lot more to the game, but once I took a step back, I decided I'll probably try to drop this one. There are better strategy battle games out there.

I believe two sessions of this took place. The first group got to the Mordor board, but all met their fate before reaching Mt. Doom. The second group dunked the ring and won. Turns out they were able to complete most boards on the main track (good) rather than down the event track (bad).

When I saw it on the prize table I thought that it looked most appealing to me personally.

Imagine my shock when Kevin called my named :wow:

Only downside is that now I'll have to rearrange the Suitcase of Doom to accommodate it... Or just break down and buy another suitcase...:p

I received two copies of Battlelore for Christmas! I'm glad I didn't win it on Saturday. :) I've thought about selling the second copy, but I know I'll want it when they start releasing epic scenarios.

Tis a good game. The only negative thing I can say about it is the amount of time it takes to setup. :(

Boy howdy, this was a game, and I only played the second half or so. Thanks for running it, Scooter. I'm sorry I didn't help clean up -- I was feeling pressure from the 7- and 8-year-olds to come be beaten up on as Count Olaf in The Perilous Parlor Game.

No problem, glad everyone enjoyed it.

We ended up calling things early for time constraints, but we decided that Tim would have most likely been the winner based on the tactical situation at that time. Me? I once again never made it off the first Tier. The only player that never advanced... So much for the myth that the owner of the game has a significant advantage...:shake:

I may have to make it my new goal in life to one day beat Tim at something during a GameDay...;)

Speed was key in this one, it seemed. Those faster ships could run the gold quickly, and they could (for the most part) out maneuver the larger ships. I got lucky with my one ship that picked apart El Gigante.

This is a fast little game for two players. I hope that we can play this one next time Tim. I can see that it is a very difficult game for the French player. There may not be many PAA troops, but they are much stronger then the French. Next time, I am reserving my game play to Napoleon at Waterloo.

In the early part of the day, I showed up with my two young 'uns and played a few hair-raising rounds of Caves and Claws (we brought our own -- after all, it wouldn't be fair to assume that everyone would sport such a rocking game) before being lured irresistibly towards the table where Pirates of the Spanish Main was being played. (The game looked super-fun, and the players were super-cool about answering my kids' (OK, and my) 34,837 questions.)

We weren't there for long, but my children and I had a blast -- thanks to everyone there for being so kind and welcoming.

My first game day I played all racing games. This time, I seem to have leaned towards war and combat. My for games were Warcraft, Wings of War, Shangri-La (a peaceful war) and Button Men which was more about fisticuffs.

I had no idea I was so thematically inclined. :D
