And another slow month. When you start living in your new house, it doesn't mean that the move is over. Wonder how long this will take. But: the games! TtR 3 times this month, because of the new USA 1910 cards.

Fewer games than I would like because of a lingering winter illness.
I used to play Euchre a lot. Until January, I hadn't played it in six months. I played that and Rummikub at a games night at a friend's church. I took some light gamer games with me but didn't manage to get them to the table. Maybe next time, if there is a next time.
Voltage is one of the new euro style games from Mattel. Not bad for a two player card game. Fairy Tale is a game I got a few months ago (based on recommendations here) and finally got to the table.

I played a lot of short games this month, because we'll be organising a gaming event or non-gamers next Friday. I had to teach some of those games to the organisers. But at the same time I also played two classical AH games in one month: 1830 and Britannia! Great gaming this month.
Total 17 games played Dutch Blitz 3x Lord of the Rings - The Search 2x Category 5; 1830; Mexican Train; Caribbean; Liar's Dice; Blokus; Malefiz; Der Ausreisser; Cartagena; Hoity Toity; Carcassonne - The Discovery; Britannia 1x

I'm a big Fantasy Flight fan, but Choco is the only game from which my two year old daughter can comprehend the rules (although she thinks it's delightful to find the "Big Eater", she usually does a little dance when she does) and play through with me. I only log complete games with her, the figure would easily triple if I'd log every started game.

No surprise for me what came out on top! BattleLore is my current favorite for a quick 2 player skirmish, great fun. I also really think highly of Yspahan, probably my favorite Ystari game. Asterix & Obelix is also surprising in that my plays were all with my three year old and he loves it. It doesn't need any modification, great kids game.

Two quick lunch meetings (Yes, a BGG friend works within walking distnace of my work!) and blammo-4 games in a month. This is a neat little 2 player that I really enjoy, although one can have a very quick game on occasion. I finally got my grail game of Traders of Genoa in, and it didn't disappoint although I need another play to see what I've learned.
The year started well, as our group's goal is now to actually play some games more than once per quarter or year!

The addition of Fearsome Floors to BSW meant that I got to play it more often, and I'm liking it more, too. If we don't count online plays, Emerald comes in first. Otherwise, lots of single plays of new games.
5 - Fearsome Floors - Nice. 3 - Emerald 3 - Ingenious 3 - Tongiaki [New This Month] Wow. I've had this sitting on the shelf for several months unplayed. Finally gave it a try as a two-player game, and it was fantastic. Then a three-player which was just as good. I think it's underrated here. 3 - Amun-Re After seven plays, I finally won. I may be coming around to this after all. 2 - Blokus 2 - Ra [New This Month] Thank you Tanga. Now I just have to convince everyone that this is really quite a good game, because I don't think I've sold anyone on it yet. 2 - Samurai 2 - TransAmerica 2 - Tsuro [New This Month] Light, almost featherweight game, which might be why my wife liked it. She doesn't like really thinky games when it gets late (although she always beats me anyway). 1 - Ave Caesar [New This Month] Light little race game. I thought this was a Knizia while I was playing it. 1 - Blue Moon City [New This Month] I certainly knew this was a Knizia. I didn't care for it -- sorry Chris -- but I'm willing to give it another shot. 1 - Capitol [New This Month] Checked out the implementation on Ludoholic. Not a bad game. Not as great as I'd hoped it would be, but it's still got a nice tension. 1 - Carcassonne - Hunters and Gatherers 1 - Cartagena 1 - Citadels [New This Month] 1 - El Grande 1 - Hansa 1 - In the Shadow of the Emperor [New This Month] Okay, this is my sort of game. Played it on MaBiWeb, and immediately fell in love. This will be part of my next order, definitely. 1 - Kahuna 1 - Liar's Dice [New This Month] 1 - Löwenherz 1 - Niagara [New This Month] 1 - Oasis It took almost a year, but I finally got it back to the table. This time with 5. It was better. 1 - TransEuropa [New This Month]

I had I tie for most played game:
Mü und Mehr - 3 plays Volcano - 3 plays
I love Mü and would play it anytime. I've played with 5 & 6 players and I think I prefer it with 5. Having more cards helps and also you can bid higher with the likelyhood of making your bid being greater.
Volcano is a game that I never win. I like to play it, but I just can't see far enough ahead or something. I played Mega Volcano with 3 players for the first time this month and I think I prefer it that way over 2 player game.

Numerically speaking, a large part of my current gaming is with my girlfriend. Angelika has developed a great liking for this 15-minute Reiner Knizia two-player game, which we played six times during January.
This was also the month I came into possession of a long-desired copy of Tante Tarantel, so I played that quite a bit in the last week.
Schotten-Totten - 6 Tante Tarantel - 5 Robo Rally - 4 Blue Moon City - 3 Cribbage - 2 Fiasko - 2 Der Fliegende Teppich - 2 Can't Stop - 2
...and 36 other games at once each.

Most played this month was Treehouse with 25. I suspect this will be my most played game for many months to come. I keep a tube in my jacket pocket and take it out when the family is waiting for something, like at a restaurant, or the half hour between the kids' swimming lessons. It's a great time killer.
Hive was a respectable second with 17 plays. I got some games in against my regular gaming friends, and play fairly often with my son.
