From 1980 to 1999, Casus Belli was the most popular magazine about role-playing games and wargames. Created as an bimonthly semi-pro magazine, Casus Belli lasted 122 regular issues, with a bunch of special issues.
Originally, wargames were the purpose of Casus Belli. But the role-playing games part grew larger and larger as the time passed on. In 1996 with issue #92, Casus Belli became monthly and wargames almost disapear. Incidently, Vae Victis was created at this time...
In 1999, Casus Belli died with issue #122. One year later, a new series relived the name. This new Casus Belli was exclusively about role-playing games. It ceased to exist in 2006.
Paradoxaly, Casus Belli published few wargames as an insert. Most of them were the games used at french wargame championships.
