Completely derivative list here. Spawned from David Molnar's list.

I've logged a ridiculous 3047 games played sine July of 2003. That number is bolstered by two things: One - I have a game buddy at work, so we play games 3-5 times a week for ~45 minutes, Two - I log my plays from online gaming with human opponents, between SpielByWeb, MabiWeb and a few others, I'm in anywhere from 10-25 games at once. Also since many people don't log their games, including some of the more active folks at those websites, this list should be taken with a grain of salt.

(I already spent too much time on this list, so I'll be back to it later this weekend.)

734 plays logged and I'm still sitting at a lowly 6th. I still want to play this more often, but I doesn't seem to hit the table. Like Chess, Poker and Bridge, this game can be, and is for many, a lifestyle game. I lived that lifestyle for 8+ years and still dabble. The variety of play continues to intrigue me, even aside from new sets being released. I enjoy deck building, especially for strange formats, including Artist Decks and Letter decks. We've done all commons and decks with a minimum 250 cards (instead of the usual 60). Draft and sealed deck are a blast, formats I'd happily play even if we had to "make-up" our own boosters. (And I have done this many year back.) I would seriously pursue a designing job at WotC if they were only in the Midwest. Washington is too far away from family.

I've played it 147 times since April '06. That lands me in 5th. I probably wouldn't have played so much, but I am really into the variable maps. (Using the Westpark gamers tool and then uploading to SBW.) Hits some of the same buttons than Ticket to Ride and Through the Desert do for me. Do I draft those cards now, or play some land/animals? Can I work on this part of the board and then go over there later, or will I get cut off? Throw in some money management and you have a winner. HUGE hit with my father-in-law, so we play a lot as well. I would happily buy some expansion maps if HiG or RGG released any.

Well then I definitely have to get this. I hadn't made that connection between TtR and DdW. Interesting.

92 plays of this fun and quick card game land in me in the #1 spot. 83 of those have been at Mabiweb. I'd happily play more in person, but it hasn't as much of a hit with my opponents. Other problem is my allegiance to the cult of the new and a desire to play those games of mine that haven't seen much table time.

Ah, bakelite, how I love thee. Add in the twists that this game with present and the every shrinking board and I racked up 80 plays. This saw a lot of play during my lunch time. I'm certainly no master, I'm certain that Stephen Tavener (and many others) could wipe the floor with me. That said, I'd love to play it more and against better players to improve my game.

Blokus addict here, I'm always happy to pull this out. It's been a hit for me with family and friends. Again a victim of me owning perhaps too many games, so it doesn't see as much table time as I'd like. I prefer Trigon over the squares. Blocking is definitely more interesting here. Played with two, we shrink the board down by 2.5 rows. Alternating 2 and 3 rows blocked off. The board looks odd, but seems to provide a nice tight game. I prefer a board small enough that it is a rarity for a player to get all their pieces down. I've logged 60 plays of this since acquiring it in July of 2006.

For me, this is a classic, I fully expect to be playing this in 10 years. Easy to teach and appealing to a wide variety of folks. Family and friends have enjoyed this. Add in the chance to play it over at Mabiweb and I've logged 58 plays (42 on Mabiweb). I know I've played it a lot more, but many of my in person plays were before I started logging. 58 plays puts me in 3rd place.

I enjoy Reef Encounter, but I'm pretty bad at it. At least against the sharks roaming SpielByWeb. I managed to learn this monster online first, reading the rules left me befuddled and playing it online only helped some. In the end, playing more online and reading Mike Doyle's review lead to understanding (the rules, the key to winning escapes me). I'd play this more in person, but it is a hair long for lunch gaming and my game group has so many new games to play that this is brushed aside. "We can just play that on SpielByWeb they say." 48 plays for me, lands me in 9th. My physical copy has seen a mere 3, THREE!, plays. That said, I'm still happy to own it.

Another of Michael Schacht's games here. My wife enjoys this one, we'd probably bring it out more, but the kids really get in the way of game time. 46 plays of this, leave me in first place. 37 of those were on MabiWeb. I could have sworn that I've played it more than 9 times in person, but apparently not.
