We are not going out to have lunch in the restaurant, but years ago - and two children earlier - we were often out to lunch and playing games while waiting.

These games have already been played by us.

What do you play while waiting?

The only place you need is the place to lay two cards on the table.
If you havn't got a table, you can put it anywhere.

You'll need 2 places for cards and at the end of the round you need a little bit more to sort the cards and make the pizzas.

Try to use the edition, where you can see the different tiles colors. Don't use the first edition for playing in bad light.

Actually, the Treehouse game that comes with the base set is just so-so. I recommend you order (with the Euro-USD exchange it should be peanuts) five sets. There are hundreds of Icehouse games in the wiki, some of them top-notch.

It would make a bit more sense to order from the UK - they are fairly widely available.

I thumbed-up your remark and was tempted to leave it at that. But it felt in contradiction with what you said, hence this stream of type that really adds nothing to my initial action. snore

Make your own copy as small as you want ...

Very quick, so you can play a tournament in three rounds: First, before you even get the drinks, one before the main menu, and one between this and the dessert.

Winner of the tournament pays the bill.

A pretty decent push-your-luck dice game that is portable, plays quickly, and can be found at any Target store. My son keeps a copy of Cinq-O dangling from his swim bag.

... makes a great stocking stuffer too!

Several times I carried this to the restaurant so that I and my kid could play while we where waiting for the food. Sometimes my wife or other couples that got along with us (looking sidelong to this strange behavior) also played it. The funny face of the people nearby when this hits the table is priceless!!

This as been the game of choice lately. Both me and my kid love the fast playing and the twisted turns this gives. From time to time my wife also joins in. As usual the faces from the nearby tables is priceless. True to be told I usual do this at our normal restaurant where the staff already knows us.
