This list is intended to discuss possible new games for the gaming website http://www.yucata.de.

If you think YES - I WANT THIS GAME AT YUCATA.DE then give thumbs up to that entry.

Entries with many thumbs up may have better chances to be implemented

If you think you can help yucata.de, just tell me (send me an E-Mail). If you are a .NET-Developer or want to learn the technology you might realize a game of your own. We also have need for someone helping with the images/graphics.

Criteria for games at yucata.de
* No player interaction. Trading and actions are usually bad. Veto cards are usually bad, since after each action of each player, each other player needs to be asked if he wants to say 'veto'.
* Not too many microactions/phases. This is no fun to play as PBW. At least not for most people.
* No memory effect: Remember who has taken what, and so on. This does not really work in PBW. This is why Stratego would not be a good option.
* Two-player games. The vast majority of games played at yucata.de are two-player-games. I will think a long time before adding a game which does not have a good 2-player version.

I prefer themed Eurogames. This does not mean that I will never add new abstract board games but they are not at the top of my list.
2010-04: I just removed most of the abstracts. There are better platforms for abstract games than yucata.de.
2010-05: I sorted again by number of thumbs. That's a manual and painful process. I also deleted games nobody wanted, games which could not be played with two players, games by Knizia.
2010-09: I sorted again and deleted a few games nobody wanted.
2011-10: I removed a heap of games which don't have any real chance to make it to Yucata. I should delete at least 50 more, but many of the proposed games I still don't know...

The list is becoming pretty long and BGG is missing a sort feature. User Grimwold created a small script to help us out.
Sorted by thumbs: http://www.grimwold.org.uk/bgg/yucatalist.php?sort=thumbs
Sorted by name : http://www.grimwold.org.uk/bgg/yucatalist.php?sort=alpha

Not sure if this would be possible to implement, but the Yucata format would benefit this game tremendously.

The biggest problem in person is the pieces and possible long waits between your turns.

For the events, it could function somewhat like Stone Age where you take your effects on your turn even though it "happened" during another players turn.

A fun game that handles 2-4 players. There are some "out of turn" actions required when protecting against pirate raids, but I don't think that would bog down the game at all. This would be a good addition for Yucata in my opinion.

Or the reissued version First Train to Nuremberg, which has better graphics and a second map. Martin Wallace is obviously onboard (accidental pun) with having his games on Yucata. And train games are a definite gap in the lineup right now.

And what about this nice card game with topic French Revolution?
It has simple rules and is also yucata-suitable.

The game is divided into three rounds or "days". Each day, twelve noble cards are dealt face-up in a row to be executed. A player's turn consists of:

Playing an Action card. This is optional.
Collecting the Noble card at the front of the line.
Drawing an Action card from the deck.

Most of the action cards only change the sequence of the Nobles. So no interactions between the players take place.

I think it would be fun at yucata .

A great abstract for 3-4, with optional rules for 2. Interactive, very simple - a Mensa select. You either place place tokens, or move them on the board destroying bridges as they pass.

I wonder if this might work...

a) Each turn is completed independently of other player's turns. Before each turn, players can decide whether or not to dump treasures, which might be an issue.

b) Peeking at the glyph tiles in the Wall room might be tricky, considering the memory aspect. A suggestion would be to peek at a tile, then have a graphic in your bar to remind you what you've seen.

Other than those potential issues, I think this would be fun.

Released by Ystari, a medium-light weight tactics, strategy game for 2-4 players. I'd call it a lighter Tigris&Euphrates. You expand on the board between these two said rivers and make short-term or long term investments in points. What makes this suitable for PBEM is a fixed number of turns, with no interruptions.

During a game, a plyer takes only (era 1) 3x2 + (era 2) 3x3 + (era 3) 3x3 = 24 turns!

1. Choose food cards (player order is resolved automatically based on this)
2. Expand on the board, feed, collect points and camels
3. Invest in Assur, temples or remaining food cards - with your camels

Flood (scoring) can be done automatically.

So a 2 player game is only 48 moves, a 4 player game - 96 moves. That beats many games on Yucata and even a 4 player game could be played really quickly.

This game was on this list with quite some thumbs, but disappeared mysteriously.

Florenza would be a perfect addition to Yucata.de!
After reading the rules I found no showstoppers - no player trading, no negotiation. Just some bidding...

True, it would be graphically more demanding to put it all on one screen but... Behold the game board!

My personal favorite railbuilding game, though it can take quite long unless you choose a variant end condition (the normal condition is 7 of 8 major cities in connected via your rail network and $250 cash in hand; 6 makes the game a little faster, 5 makes it very different).

No real player interaction here, aside from the ability to use other players' rail networks for movement. Each turn after setup is move then build, or discard all contracts and draw new ones. Money is nominally private until a particular event card, but I've never really felt that mattered.

Running out of money and reaching your track dead end can knock players out of the game, so some leniency modification to the base rules would be appropriate.
