Franz’s work can be found throughout BGG. Aside from very popular ccg’s; MTG, L5R, Warlord,War Cry, and A Game of Thrones, his work appears in Warmachine: Superiority. I first met him at GenCon 2004, and have since bought several very beautiful prints from him. Upon requests, he will sign cards, boards, or draw a quick sketch.

Enjoy!!

He designed the board and characters. I bought the minis this year at Gencon, and while he did not design them, they were created in his character's images.

Franz's art graces all of the cards and expansions. Unfortunately, he no longer has any artist proof cards. The card art is not available for sale as prints.

3. Board Game: Tikal [Average Rating:7.44 Overall Rank:74]

Franz designed all three boards for Tikal, Java, and Mexica.

While I do not own this game, the board is so tempting.

While it is just my opinion, his best work is in Blue Moon. Franz helped Reiner design the Blue Moon world, and races. Franz has shared with me that it is one of his most favorite projects because he was not just hired as the art director, but was given a lot of freedom to design the world. I own a Hoax print, and it is proudly displayed in my game room. People new to gaming always ask about it.

While I like Blue Moon's art in general, the Hoax have to be one of the ugliest people in the history of gaming...

Ugly characters maybe (we can't all be beautiful) but the art itself is stunning IMHO.

His art in Amun Re and Ra is simple but elegant.

Wow, the Ra board is one of my favorites ever. The two curved tracks with the gods in the center is so perfect.

These are my favorite designs. I don't like the detailed artwork as in Blue Moon, this instead is very functional and aesthetic at the same time - and very Egyptian.

This is my newest purchase, and I hope to have him sign it at GenCon 2008. While I am not an artist, the colors are just as tempting as in Africa.

Let's not forget in this context the truly uniqe 18-stripe star-spangled banner on the cover of this game...

Nevertheless, I like his designs for Phalanx games ( A House Divided, Age of Napoleon, Waterloo, etc.) a lot and consider them his best works. Might be biased by my preference for these games, though.

Another two good examples of his use of color and layout.

Mississippi Queen

Franz shared with me this past GenCon that he is involved in several project slated for 2008 ish? One is a Journey to the Center of the Earth theme game that is a tie into "Around the World in 80 Days" (2004 Rio Grande.)

I must admit your geeklist has comments which this: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/10779 and this: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/635 one hasn't.
But I wanted to point out, there are already two lists on this artist.
Maybe you could have added to those instead of starting a new one.

Pshaw! There's nothing wrong with additional tribute lists (or any geek list, for that matter). I know there are people who love to point out pre-existing geek lists, but sometimes you just need to put out your own version.
