This list is to gather information about these games with miniatures from those of you who have played them. I am not very experienced with these types of games so there are probably some good ones that I left out. Feel free to add those that I have missed onto the list. I'll start with the couple that I see available for purchase in my FLGS. If you feel this list is worthy, and you have the geekgold to spare, please leave me a tip. I'm getting close to obtaining an avatar! (finally)

I've gathered a small collection of these. The miniatures are good quality and the game is well balanced.

I have a ton of these miniatures. The game is quite light and was a bit disappointing out of the box, however, with some tweaking of the objectives and victory conditions this is now back in my good books as an enjoyable game. Good quality miniatures for the money.
4. Board Game: Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures: War at Sea [Average Rating:7.12 Overall Rank:698]

I have 12 miniature planes and the all of the cards, sets released for Wings of War. (With the exception of Dawn of war).

This is a very quick and enjoyable game and my wife enjoys this as well. The game play is straight forward and games are entertaining. WIth multiple players or multiple planes, the dynamics in teh sky can be quite amusing.

this is a new one that looks like its trying to combine fantasy, science fiction and comic book superheroes all in one. Could be cool.

I particularly like the "army selection" system. Most games have you pay points for army units. In this game, you pay "points" for army units, the number of actions you can take per order, and one-shot command cards. See the reviews for details.
7. Board Game: HeroScape Master Set: Rise of the Valkyrie [Average Rating:7.35 Overall Rank:130]

This is a really popular system with a lot of expansions. I'm not going to list all of the expansions, but feel free to add and comment on them.

This game has been like wild fire for our gaming group. I have multiple copies and multiples of all of the expansions. We have been playing this weekly for over two and a half years. The game system allows for lots of variety. I recommend getting clevr with elaborate scanrios and various victory conditions. It has kept the game fresh for us.
8. Board Game: HeroScape Marvel: The Conflict Begins [Average Rating:7.06 Overall Rank:472]

This one looked good until I saw it at Wal-Mart. It definately needs some expansions before I get it.

This is compatible with all HeroScape expansions, so, there they are. All the terrain, monsters and various thugs and cannon fodder fit right in. Zombies, robots, aliens...

I guess being a Marvel fan in general keeps me from wanting to mix in heroes or villians from other universes. I should say I want more Marvel expansions before I get it.

What they really need is DC Heroscape next, then we can have a super gigantic Marvel VS DC slugfest. Bwahahahahahah!

I would definately be down for a Marvel vs. DC skirmish. Thats probably the reason why I've always wanted to try HeroClix. I must say, Marvel doesn't have anyone that could handle Superman. I'm probably opening up a can of worms here, but I've always felt like if you take Superman out of the equation Marvel would have the upperhand in a universe vs. universe slugfest.

This is not actually a miniatures game. It just has pretty minatures on all the pieces.

Skip this one. Wy expensive for very poor play. The stupid Constructable ship game is better, cheaper, less fiddly and more fun.

To follow up, skip this for gameplay, but if you can get them cheaply, pick up the beautiful miniatures.

But yeah, the gameplay is terrible. It's sad, really.

Surprisingly good and discontinued, so if you find it, it will be cheap.

I bought a ton of miniatures on sale that we plan on re-basing to use for HeroScape. :D

I really enjoyed this one. I used it as a gateway game where I used to work and the kids (ages 6-13) picked it up really quickly. I was very sad it was discontinued as it is a better game than the one by GW.

Sabertooth is owned by GW.
So technically this is a GW game.

Actually pretty good and a refreshing change from 40k. I actually like the Void mini sculpts better than the 40k. Free rules is just icing on the cake.

This isn't a miniatures game. This is figures to replace the pawns in the regular game.

There's no player interaction here, so I don't think its what you mean to look for.

;) This isn't so much a 'series' for anything, other than JUST for use with the "crayon rails games", as each of that denotes a 'stage' or "improvement/upgrade" from one TYPE to the next. You'd require a total of 6 packages to complete the "colors" for any of those, and these are most likely needing to become 'painted' to match them as well.

This is the best skirmish game system I've come across, and I've played dozens.
It is also easily modifiable to accomidate other genres. We have a Western one, a WWII one, and a Sci-fi one.

Can't be beat.

Well well... still got the BGG Newuser Badge and already talking bout an avatar :shake:

I added some of the (in)famous Games Workshop Products to your list, as that's usually what first comes to my mind if I hear Miniatures Games. But actually playing I'm only Blood Bowl of those.

When I think miniatures, I always go to Yugblad's image gallery:

His macro images of miniatures are outstanding.

BTW - welcome to BGG.

I discovered this while looking at some of the minis games I didn't recognize. Has everything I added and more. Some of the comments are almost exactly the same.

Wow thanks for all the comments and additions everyone. I figured there was another geeklist or two out there that had the same theme, but I was too lazy to search through the archives. It helps me more when I have to look up every game and read about it anyway. There are a lot more miniatures games out there than I thought. I look forward to creating more collections! Maybe if I live to see 60 I can have collections of all the major games. We'll see.
