Please note - I have removed all old placeholders from this list. Please only use this list to record the receipt of games actually received from your Santa.

Only use placeholders to let your Santa know you received your package but are waiting to open it. When you actually open the package, please update the entry with the game(s) you received and express your reaction for your Santa. Please let me know if you experience any problems with this via GeekMail. Sorry for any confusion...now on to the list:

Since we just got our Secret Santa Targets assigned --

Last year's episode of "Look what my Secret Santa sent me..." was well received, so I am creating the same list again for 2007.

I originally posted this as a way to let my Santa know when I receive my gift without him/her worrying about letting me know who (s)he is. Use this as a central area to record what our Secret Santas sent us. If you plan on using this list, you may want to make a note on your profile so your Secret Santa knows to look on the list for your receipt and reaction.

That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be divulged!

If your Santa sends you more than one item, just list them all in one listing unless you think it makes more sense to list them separately. Remember to include any comments you want your Secret Santa to know!

I don't know about anyone else, but I generally obsess about whether a package has arrived at it's intended destination. I drive my wife crazy with checking tracking numbers constantly! So it will be nice to see when those gifts are actually received by the giftee (or are they just sitting unclaimed on the neighbor's porch?)

(I am just using a generic Christmas first item as a placeholder for mine until my gift arrives, at which time I will update it with the real gift). In case you were wondering - yes, I do have a probably unfounded fondness for this holiday.

Now for the big question - do you open the gift or allow it to taunt you from under the tree until your local Christmas/Holiday gift opening?

I received a package yesterday, all wrapped up inside, so under the tree it will sit until Christmas.. appears to be from Boards & Bits (the FedEx tracking label was no help either), with no clue as who it's actually from... not sure which Secret Santa it's from. I've been in contact with one of them, and from clues they have sent, this package is not from them.

Thank you Secret Santa!!!!

(from the FedEx tracking label I think it's from someone in Maryland)

Update: Came back from my trip visiting relatives on Dec 27 and celebrated Christmas morning again on Dec 28 by opening gifts again... my Secret Santa gift was Reef Encounter, a game I've been trying to obtain for the last year. Thank you!, Thank you!, Thank you! I can't wait to play it.

Still not sure which SS sent me this (International or US-only), but I would love to know. Thank you once again.

This year I decided to keep the gift a surprise since my Santa said there was game included that was not on my wishlist. I thought it would be fun to open on xmas morning. The wife is under orders to wrap them up and keep it secret.

I think (but not sure) that the other (and thanks for the fabulous generosity SS) game is Race.....but that's just a guess based on shipping times.

Thanks again.

Awesome!!! wow

This is absolutely unexpectedly fantastic! Not something that I would've bought for myself any time soon, but that just makes it that much better of a gift, 'cause I totally wanted it.

With any luck we'll play it tonight! (It was so nicely wrapped by Tom @ Boards n Bits.. but my girlfriend actively encouraged the opening!)

THANKS SANTA!!!

I did my best to hold out but the temptation was too great.

I received my number 1 wish for Christmas: 1960! I have been waiting for this ever since it was announced. The production is great. The map bigger than expected and the cardboard nice and sturdy.

While it has a similar feel to Twilight Struggle, it plays much differently. The game seems to go by even quicker than TS and has nice little breaks as you anticpate the debates and election day. I like the concept of only 1 person placing blocks in states as it makes it abundantly clear who is leading and who controls (as opposed to the stacks of influence markers in TS). NIce tight game with many more facets of strategy to explore.

To my Secret Santa: THANK YOU! While I would have been happy with anything on the wishlist, this is the one I was hoping for most! Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to post and state that my gift arrived last Saturday... Haven't had time to post and state that it had arrived, and the hubby grabbed it before I could open it... Thanks lotsly, and it's not getting opened until Christmas day...laugh

______________________________________________________________________

I don't know which game I'm more excited about... The one I listed or Ticket to Ride: Switzerland

Both the games were highly wanted, and much appreciated... They will get played quickly... I can't get enough of the Switzerland map on the DoW website...

Also included was ZÈRTZ

I've played this game before and definitely liked... Plus it makes two (three if you include TAMSK) left of the Gipf series that I still need to get... All the games that I've played in the series are very good...

Thank you very much, Secret Santa! You did a wonderful job of picking some games that I wanted very very much...

My (not so secret anymore) Santa will be voted "best Santa of 2007" if I have anything to do with it, as he sent me 1960: Making of the President!

However, the big box contained something else as well! Generous Santa also sent me "The Red Dragon Inn", a game high on my wishlist, and even took the effort to send me some Lord of the Rings cards and a LotR page marker!

The box arrived very fast too. So early, in fact, that I just couldn't wait till X-mas to open it. Thank you Santa!!!

I got a geekmail from Santa last Monday saying a package was imminent, but didn't see any notes on my door or anything. Finally on Thursday I went down to the apartment building office and asked if by chance they had anything for me.

I managed to not open the Boards&Bits box they gave me until the very next day; inside I found two wrapped boxes. Based on geometry and some light agitation, I'll guess that in two weeks (or when I fail the daily will save) I will find Palazzo and Fjords, both of which I am delighted to receive.

Sorry Santa for failing to post until now. And thank you very much for the boxes. The Palazzoish one is quite satisfying to shake!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Just a quick "Thank you!" to my Secret Santa that went all above and beyond the call of duty this year and sent me three well wrapped presents.

I did open one of the three, and it is the expansion to Power Grid. I opened it, as I knew right away what it was, having previously held the box.

The other two packages will remain a mystery until the big day.

Thank you very much Santa!

.

After a week of enjoying my packages under the tree I decided with a helpful nudge from my wife to open the remaining two packages. Sweeeet!
(honest, she gave me the apple....)

She decided to make a game of guessing what could be in the packages so undoing a corner she gave hints as to what could be inside.

On the first package after a couple hints about color etc, she queried: "full moon.." I quessed Arkham Horror and sure enough that was exactly what the first one was.

On the second package her first clue was: what were the two main sides of WW2? Axis and allies?(said I) hmm welp then she says "smaller"

Axis and Allies minatures? Bingo!

So here I am now the proud owner of 3 new games. One was a complete surprise coming from the creativity of SS on their own. The other two were favorites I have wanted for some time from my wish list.

Thank you much Santa!! I am looking forward to playing them soon and a very Merry Christmas to you.

If you would like, send me a mail or some clues to your Geek ID it would be fun to correspond.

WooHoo! After a long day at work I came home to a package waiting for me. Naturally my kids wanted to know what’s inside so I explain to them about being a Secret Santa on BGG. Since they have little patience for surprises we go ahead and open it. The first item I see is Zooloretto and explain to my kids that it’s a family game that we can all play together. My daughter who is 8 takes an immediate interest with all the animal tiles. My son who is 11 doesn’t say much but I can see the curiosity in his eyes as he looks at all the pieces. This shows a lot of promise! Now for the selfish good part; there was also a copy of the new Combat Commander Paratroopers battle pack in the package too. This holds a lot of interest for me since I was a paratrooper during the 80’s with the 82nd ABN and will be a nice addition to the game. I really like Combat Commander and didn’t even think to put it on my wish list, my Secret Santa must have done some searching and found out that I really enjoy this game. I almost forgot, the package came with some really cool dice from Thought Hammer!

Thank You Secret Santa!

The first to arrive is pictured here, providing me much Christmas cheer!
Santa implies by his hints, that 2 more games are coming hence.
I'm quite thrilled with the one, and consider Santa quite generous were he already done.

Had I not been moving (no worries Santa, I still own the other house), and had functioning internet, I could have posted this sooner. Thank you very much Secret Santa, whoever you may be!

Santa sent me a note a while back asking if my gift had arrived. As it had not, I was a little worried that the reindeer may have veered off course, or worse yet dropped the package off at the wrong house. I live in a new community, so this was a real concern.

Luckily, Santa got in touch with the workshop elves and they said my gift was being worked on (backorder) but they had one part of it done and could send it my way. So Santa told me to be on the lookout and today I go home for lunch and there is a small little envelope in it.

My curiosity got the best of me so I ripped it open. Having no idea what it could be as nothing on my wishlist appeared to be this small. It was a surprise which I didn't have on my wishlist, but gave me a pretty good idea what could possibly be on backorder. I'm thinking,

and now I'm REALLY excited. I had this on my wishlist for a while as my only "love to have" but a few days before targets went out I dropped it to "like to have" because I wanted to give Santa more options. Santa, i don't know how you did it, but I'm glad you did. Thanks so much!

My gift arrived at the apartment office a couple days ago but work being crazy I wasn't able to pick it up until this morning. I couldn't resist peeking in the box although I didn't open it completely, and what I saw peeking back out at me was Ticket to Ride: Switzerland!

I've really been looking forward to this one since most of my games of T2R are 2 or 3 players - either me and Jason, me and Ariel (Jason's 9 year old), or me, Jason and Ariel. I am sure this will get a lot of play in our regular rotation.

It looked like there was something else in the box too but I am making myself wait until the holidays to open it... wait... I'm Jewish so it IS the holidays I think I'll open it tonight! I can't wait!

Thank you very much, Secret Santa! (Well, not so secret since you put the return address on the box... but thank you regardless!!!)

Dear Santa,

A package arrived at my home from Thought Hammer while I was out of town on travel. I believe it was from you.

My mother is going to open the box and wrap what is inside if it hasn't been wrapped yet. Since she and I are alone 1000's of miles from the rest of our family for Christmas this year, it will be wonderful to have another package under the tree until Christmas Day.

Thank You so much! And I will update this Geeklist item on Christmas after we open our gifts!!

I am so very excited, I would give your BGG helper a hug if only I knew who he/she was.

Lynette

It took me forever to find this "List Item" again. So I posted a new one with my presents it is #812 in this list.

But here is a copy of it just in case this is were you check first Santa.

Dear Santa,

This year having a Secret Santa was a special blessing. Since both my grandparents died this past spring/summer my mother and I didn’t have the energy or funds to do anymore cross country traveling. So we spent this Christmas 2000 miles away from our remaining family. Our tiny tree only had a few presents under it and my mother had wrapped the ones you sent beautifully. I was brimming with anticipation for many days. Having them under the tree added beauty and fun for both of us this year.

You did a wonderful job choosing a present for me this year. Not only do I live in a Desert, this game was one of the early Eurogames I played that helped really plunge me into this hobby many years ago, and yet somehow I had never acquired my own copy. Plus it is one of my mother’s favorite games as well. It will be played and loved for many years.

Plus what a wonderful unexpected surprise the Power Grid Italy/France expansion was. Power Grid is one of my all time favorite games. I even run it at conventions. So this was a perfect and totally unexpected addition to my collection!!

Thank You Again!

Hugs from a grateful Meerkat,

Lynette

MY SECRET SANTA ROCKS!

My package from Though Hammer was waiting for me this afternoon. I have to confess that I haven't been that excited since the Christmas I though my family didn't get me any presents but it turned out they had hid them in the dishwasher. I was completely giddy.

I received from my generous SS Puerto Rico. I now get the chance to see if it lives up to it's Numbero Uno rating.

AND

Samurai!!! On my hot 10 list. kiss

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season. You have helped mine be so.

So I broke down early and I couldn't wait to open my gifts.

Secret Santa, where ever you are- THANK YOU!!!

El Grande is the perfect Secret Santa gift for me, a game that I must own, but was never sure when I would get it.

Everything looks so great in this edition that I'm blown away how well it has aged.

The second package had
. I'd heard a lot of great things about this game when it came out, and I was not disappointed.

My wife and I got in one game already. It is an abstract game at heart, so my wife instantly had insight on the a winning strategy and beat me good.

As a bonus, my 3 year old loves punching the pieces. He will put the tiles back in the stock and punch them out again- giving me at least a half hour of relative quite.

Thanks again my super Secret Santa!!! And thanks to BGG for being such a great community.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
