ahh yes, the Euro game before euro games (and it was American). Great fun and a nice gateway game.

Yep. One of the most confrontational games we have, and that's probably what makes it so much fun. Sure you die a lot, but you die happy!

This game can be hilarious. Much laughing when playing this! I know my favourite game I played was one in which I lost badly - but the manner in which one little push from another robot totally destroyed mine was so funny. One push caused me to, instead of getting the final flag, end up on the opposite side of the NEXT board over, having lost all 5 of my options and been damaged down to a single remaining life point. Quite something to see that much damage and backwards movement in one round. Not one of the 5 players could stop giggling for about 5 minutes.

Simple rules and very fun to play. It's great to block the other chariots then shoot ahead with a "6" the next turn.

One of my FOGS' has this title in stock. The theme of riding bikes doesn't speak to me, but if I got to screw someone while riding a bike it might speak to me... So, do I get to screw someone?

I agree! This is a fun game that you can get the stuffing knocked out of you by your son and yet walk away not feeling like a loser.

A great drinking game.
The designer recommends doing the cheesy diologue to describe the moves. He actually does this during some of the demos.

This game is awesome. I believe there's an expansion in the works for 2008.

Resistance is futile. One of the very few games you can bust out and be certain that people will gravitate over to play.

I have had good luck with the Mini version too, although I prefer the full sized game .

This game is tonnes of fun, especially when we play with our house "drinking" rules. Drunken Pitch Car, ya gotta love it!

I've only tried this on BSW and wasn't overly impressed. Anyone try it both ways and wish to comment on the fun factor comparatively?!

Ah, yes, that was exactly the first game I thought of when reading the list -- even before thinking of PitchCar. The more people, the better the game gets.

I've played it on BSW as well as in real life and must say both ways have their merits: On BSW, you have much less downtime as people concentrate on the task at hand. As nobody knows each other, the game can become very competitive, and there are some very good players on BSW, so don't be disappointed that you lose constantly. However, I must admit that I had played some matches on BSW where I had the strong feeling that either a player was logged in twice with different names or at least received more help than was due from another player. This was one of the reasons why I quitted BSW altogether.

In a face-to-face match with some friends, I tend to play less nasty (or less competitive, you could say) and there is much more metagaming (like "Hey, that move is not what you want to do -- I'd move like this.") The downtime increases, but I think in the end it's more fun this way. However, it's not a quick game that way.

I am not surprised. This is a highly social game. Without the face to face interaction, I would rate this about 3. With it, it's an 8.

Fluxx can be fun, but it can also become the game that never ends. I guess in that regard it is very aptly named.

We tried the recent Zombie Fluxx out and found it to be enjoyable. It's Fluxx, played during a zombie outbreak.

This has been on my radar for quite some time. And if you like it Jon, it may just be the greatest game ever made. That's how much I respect you.

If you did not put this one on this here list, I would have. Lots of simple mindless fun. Cheers around the table when someone succeeds. Groans when they knock you off. Challenges like, "go ahead and try, buddy." A good time.

Great fun! There's nothing like tossing your opponents meeples into the open volcano!

The lines we use is "try that Meeple with the new Vesuvius BBQ sauce" and "fresh, hot Meeple (meat)" and, in honor of Sondheim, "the worst pies in Pompeii".

I've played this game a whole bunch of times, and can honestly say that I have never been in a dull game. Lots of fun every time that it comes out. Highly recommended for everyone. Great game.

I see this at my local Walmart and WANT to pick it up, but I don't have kids, my nephew is 1 and well... I still want it.

Buy it anyway. I did and it's a blast. (no kids here. Well, other than me that is)

This looks like loads of fun. My brother and I used to play something similar with our mega bloks. We had all sorts of roughed out rules for various situations, and used what we now call "the caveman measurement system."

Anyone know if I could find some plastic catapults and crossbows online? I can't justify starting another minis game(not after what I've spent on HS), but I can just use my Heroscape and Legos with the weapons.

Bausack is the way I go with dexterity. The longer the game goes the more fun it is! Of course, that may be because when I get nervous energy I laugh, then I shake the table with my laughing, then all of the "builds" fall down.

Actually, now the rest of my group make me go sit in the other room until it's my turn.

Ugh! I hate it. To me, playing this at the top end of the # of players scale steals the "30 min of fun packed into 2 hrs" title.

The thing with Citadels is you can play it as seriously as you want to (like many RPGers do) or something like a Monty Python and the Holy Grail skit. Or anything in between.

When we play, whoever is the King has to wear the Burger King Crown!

Now THAT is a good house rule!
