Although all three of these are great games, I feel that Imperial has the most to offer.

Silly? Yes. Light? Definitely. Party? No, not at all.

It fits my idea of a party game. How do you define party game?

To me, a party game is for non-gamers at a party. Not for game geeks late at night at a convention. Loosely, I'd say that if where you sit is important, then it's never a party game. A party game, in my mind, has to be something you can do at a party which includes your boss, their boss, your kid nephew, your grandmother, Mother Theresa, and Colonel Sanders. They're at a party together and you introduce a game. That game needs to appeal to all of them and not have "geek" or "dweeb" or "comic fanboy" or "niche group" written all over. If it fits those conditions, there's a chance it can be a party game in my book.

There are lots of great silly / fun games (Diamant, Cash 'n' Guns, Coyote, etc) that are good for gamers and they'll likely call them a "party game" because to gamers parties are very different affairs. But I just call those light games. A party game needs broad appeal and a target audience of Wal-Mart shoppers and Target shoppers, not game enthusiasts.

Much as people hate to think of it, Trivial Pursuit is the benchmark of party games. If a game appeals to that group, it's probably a party game. If not, it probably isn't.

From reading about it here, this too is not a party game. Just a light game, which seems to confuse otherwise intelligent BGGers.
