Small-ish crowd this week after a two-week hiatus, but we had fun anyway!

We played with the Ark Extra Mix cards and had a good time... I like the way you have to figure out best how to fit your cards into the ark both to score points & to slow down your opponents from doing the same.

The game system was very, very angry... John managed to end up trapped FOREVER in a rotating room two spaces from his entry point, Richard managed to reach the dragon's treasure, but got beaten up & killed by a parade of John-controlled monsters, and I got stuck behind a pile of rubble that kept me from getting to the exit in time to win with my 400 gp.

Dead, dead... all dead.

But we had fun!

The title may SAY "Hollywood Blockbuster"... but we played Traumfabrik, the much cooler German edition of this great auction game. The tiles fell perfectly for me, esp. at the end. (My last film, completed at the final party, was worth 30+ points between actual value and contributions to awards totals.)

This is the tightest finish I have EVER seen in the game... what a rush. (If you haven't played, you definitely need to try it.)

Richard finished first with 78 days... one turn later, both John & I finished: John with 78 days as well. I had 77 days for the win.

Wow.

This game has been re-released as Transformers Battling Cards... either way, it's a sneaky little hand management game. John got burned on Jedi Master card, which had him draw & play a card - in this case, Final Battle, which made him discard 4 cards early on in a round. He never really recovered.

Diceball is to baseball what Pizza Box Footbal is to football... a luck-ridden game that actually does a pretty decent job of imitating the sport in question.

John took a one run lead in the first inning & held that until the top of the 5th, when my boys finally got warmed up to the tune of 5 runs. John scored another couple of runs in the bottom of the 9th, but ran out of steam before he could take us into extra innings.
