These are the games coming out in 2008 I'm most anxiously awaiting to become available.

Why am I "jones'n" for these games? It may be the prototype photos in the database, the manufacturers description from their website or the fact that a game is finally getting a makeover/reprint after so long out of print.

What else should I be keeping on my radar?
Do you have a favorite or two that you will buy the instant it becomes available?
Is there some reason you will or won't buy a game on this list?

Add the games on YOUR radar and share why you want it so bad.

This is the inspiration for this list. I came across this company again and went to their website to watch some of the video tutorials on "making" their spaceships for the upcoming game Wormhole. Think Pirates of the Spanish Main in space with ships you cut out and put together.

Oh, one more thing... there looks to be an actual GAME here too!

The ships appear to be pure genius too - awesome graphics that you print and put together yourself. From their prior products, it seems like you can print up as much as you'd like once you purchase the game. Maybe there are some restrictions, but I think it's a great idea either way.

There aren't any restrictions for your personal use. You can print over as many times as you like. You basically get some .pdfs and instructions. The videos on the site are good tutorials. I've built a few things and it's fun too construct. But, you have to be careful with them. Great graphics for sure. I made some treasure chests for Pirate's Cove but haven't built the pirate ship yet. I've built some other small stuff but haven't jumped into the big stuff yet.

The Pirate Ship is simply awesome. I can't believe it's only $17.

As far as there being an actual, you know, game in there, after PotSM, I won't hold my breath.

This is PnP on the bleeding edge!

Some of the components for this game (e.g. the 'Tactical Operation Station) even put the likes of FFG production values to shame.

Now there's a thought - the creativity of the peeps behind Wormhole combined with the production resources of FFG. So, c'mon FFG, pull yer finger out and hire these guys!

I'm seriously thinking of investing in this (it's like, what, $16?), even though I have no printer, nor the time to construct the models (let alone play the game!)

BIG respect to Denny & Co.!

I'm excited about this too, but it's gonna cost me more than $17. $60 for ink, unless I decide to get a color laser printer: that's a few hundred. Or I suppose I can get it printed at Kinko's for $1 a page (if I can convince them I have permission to print the material--I hope World Works includes that language in their pdfs?). Add construction time, and this is at least as much opportunity cost as a booster box of Pirates.

It's good value for money, but not that good...

I can get a whole set of ink cartridges (1 dbl black, 5 color) for my HP inkjet printer for about $35 (and get 8 AA batteries and a pack of 50 4x6 photopaper FREE from Office Max) and that will easily print up over a hundred color sheets at best quality. I don't know how many ship types are included, but I'm thinking I'll use AT MOST 1 ink cartridge set.

I'm still seeing this game as a total bargain.

Definitely keeping an eye on this one. I'm not the greatest with miniatures, but watching the videos definitely got me interested.
