Over 50 gamers, including quite a few new faces, braved the harsh elements for another 12 hours of gaming in Pittsburgh. The day of games started at noon during a light icing. The weather got worse and worse throughout the day, yet we bravely (stupidly) kept playing. By the end of the night, we were pushing gamers out of snowy ditches and wishing each other luck on the drive home.

This geeklist is a list of the games played throughout the day.

The Gaming Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania (GASP) gathers on the second Saturday of every month in Pittsburgh PA for 12 hours of gaming. We are open to the public. Our next Games Day is April 12. Hope to see some of you there.

For more information on GASP, visit our website at www.GASPgamer.com
or check out our very active forums at http://eonsreach.com/gaspforum/index.php#2

Walking in at 1 and seeing the game sort of start (Not sure if it just started or not much happened yet) and seeing the game still going some 5-6 hours later made me quite curious. There's nothing I'd love more than one really spiffy strategy game... Guess one of these games days I'll have to burn giving it a shot.

Yeah, that's the difficult part to be honest. No matter how good the game is, there could be 12 other games I might not have played before that I'd miss... but if the game is that good, why not give it a shot? Really tough call in my book.

A good gaming experience is a good gaming experience. What's the difference between 6 good hours of one game or 6 good hours of four? It still results in 6 hours of quality entertainment.

First time I played this one and dutifully got beat by some veteran players. Getting the 'Connect these cities' cards that were impossible to do didn't help things either. Makes me think of RR tycoon only simpler. I've also heard that some of the expansions make things even more interesting...

I respectfully disagree. The other versions are just longer, not really better. It's the simplicity that makes T2R so good.

I had some fun with this one. It took me a minute to catch what the real objective was and how to do what I really needed to do, but certainly didn't take long. My first route was 7 cities long...

Still lost, but was an easy mechanic to understand and I got to use some of that German I paid so much in college for.

Another first time playing for me. Unfortunately, we mistakingly thought we had a three way tie on this one, however it was actually that we used the outer ring... and I had no idea we weren't supposed to use it. Game number 2 was played correctly. Quick and fun little game.

By the time I figured out how to get anywhere in this game, it was well too late for any kind of recovery. Not sure I like the mechanics in this one... just didn't do it for me. Think I'll stick to Coloretto.

Another first for me. This was product of my method of wandering around until someone say "Want to play a game?" I enjoyed this one, especially pulling some nice blocking moves and driving everyone nuts behind me. I had some nice beginners luck with the first series (the three three player one) sweeping first place all three times. On the 5 player, things didn't go nearly as nicely. Certainly be up for this one again!

Also got to use the 3 words of Latin I remember from high school.

Oh yeah, the method works wonders! Wandering in a circle is the universal sign you're not playing a game.
