A list of Print and Play games that are really quick to make. If you've not tried a Print and Play game, you really should try one of the games on this list.

What have I missed? Do you know of another Print and Play game thats really quick to make and worth the effort?

This game is SO good, it should be produced professionally. I'd love to have a set of these tiles in a nice ceramic.

As a bonus, this abstract is entirely Black and White

Downloaded the rules and stuff, but have not made my set yet. I've played the online version a bunch however - this game is surprisingly good, both strategically and tactically.

I'm going to print my set up on heavy paper and mount them to one of the sets of wooden Scrabble tiles I've picked up at a bazillion garage sales.

Very fun game... I printed it off almost a year ago and played it several nights in a row with the wife to great success. Have been meaning to make an heirloom quality set for myself ever since... seeing it in a geeklist reminds me I should get back on that. Definitely worth more time than printed paper, but give it a shot if you're on the fence.

The biggest problem with this one is that it's TOO small. I made myself a nice set in a fantastic little box, but it's barely visible on the shelf! I need a macropul so that this gem sees the amount of play it deserves.

I pnp this game last week, and while the games is sbrilliant it really needs someone who re-design all the cards, add some images and some icons to them so you can play without having to read the card all the time.

And Richthofen himself is cheating playing with one more card

I just follow the rule, if I have less than 4 cards, I draw up to 4

I know there are some moments where you have special rules as the one like, "If you can not match a manouver, draw a extra card"

So we just played in the logical way to gain the benefit, as in draw one card because you have less than 4, and after that draw the extra card, so you end with 5.

This is one, that I now, personally think is too hard.
The failure rate is very high.
However when you do finally get to win, you know you have beaten some very long odds to do so!!
That warm fuzzy feeling is definitely worth it, but getting there is frustrating.

That's how I am. I found Run Emily Run! and wanted to play test it. So I quick printed on draft a set of cards (no color) that were so bad you couldn't really tell the monster suits apart. It was OK to test the game with, but I wouldn't want to share it with anyone.

Forget about printing this one out, just grab either 2 decks of cards or a deck with 5 or more suits (lost cities, Battle Line, Rage, etc...). Use the backs of the unused cards to create the board.

I did also once in the office a five minute print, just draw with a pen a 9x9 grid, and cut 10 pieces of paper for each player, you can use a coin as pawn, and play Quoridor.

That game session managed to sell 5 copies of the game to non-players.

I guess it can be played with a grid paper only + 2 pawns.

Draw the borders, place pawns then each players can move and draw walls as he should. And conting how many walls he used on the side.

Print out the tileset twice on two different colours of paper (white and...) and off you go. 18 tiles per player.

Place tiles adjacent to one another by matching up the sides (as in XXXenophile or Girl Genius: The Works), but note that there are only 4 tiles used for scoring. So, you position your tiles as best you can, then set yourself up for a good score before your opponent can interfere.

Suggested rule change: instead of "real time", draw tiles 1, 2, or 3 at a time and play u-go-I-go.

The file you link to can be used to play some sort of Twixt, but the layout is very cluttered. All those extraneous horizontal and vertical lines get in the way of visualization for me. And the diagonal guide lines are black just like a link drawn in black pencil would be, so how could you tell them apart? The coordinate labels are almost unreadable. A better version IMNSHO is at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/file/14546

This is a much cleaner layout. Two versions are provided. One has faint gold diagonal guide lines, and the other has no guide lines.

When you play paper & pencil Twixt, the rules change slightly with regard to linking. Links are never removed (no erasure necessary), but your OWN links are allowed to cross each other. Opposing links never cross of course. So, you might produce a winning path which loops across itself. Crossed links are not necessarily connected. To win, you must make a chain of linked pegs, each directly linked to the next, which connects your border rows.

Don't forget the pie rule! :-)

Five seconds! You must have a laser printer. Nice to see you chose a 15x15 grid.

An extremely clever game by Oriol Comas, sort of a condensed chess in a 5x5 board and with 5 pieces per player. The game can be downloaded here: http://tinyurl.com/3x3ep5

I agree, based only on reading the rules, the movement distribution is clever. I'm a sucker for small chess variants, and this one looks promising. Thanks for posting it to the list.

I'm surprised how much I like this ultra-simple dice game. We played this recently on vacation when all we had were two dice.

I made a copy of this game for a friend's birthday. I outlined the swordfish sides of the tokens with a red marker and the torpedos with blue to add a little color. At first, everybody looking at it though it looked boring, but after a few plays, they were trying to beat each other's scores. My best was 33, but the best of the night was 41.

Could you define "Print & Play"? There are a few games that I can think of that are printable, but I think they miss the theme you're aiming for.

I'm thinking that you could print up Werewolf or even a copy of Category 5.

Good list, but there are a few games which I'm kinda leery about the legality of printing. For instance, are Through the Desert and Stephenson's Rocket freely available now?

Great list. There were a couple of games published in the zine Countermoves back a bunch of years. You can still get all the issues, rules, maps, counters and extras to print up over at http://countermoves.blogspot.com/

Its good to see pnp and dtp stuff increasing; good games come in all forms.
