Snakes and Arrows in Austin

So I am taking a crack at my first Geeklist. Decided that I would use my favorite band as the impetus, and further use the set list from the show they played here in Austin as the list itself. I know that there are a few other Rush geeklists already done, even one that is a setlist from the 2007 leg of the tour, but hey, new tour (sort of), and some new songs. If you are planning on seeing them soon, this could be a spoiler!

One of the things I love about seeing Rush live is the visual imagery they use. Always a fantastic light show, but the video images they tie to the songs bring out even more meaning. This song was a great example. |

The original story that inspired this song was written by Richard Foster, and featured an MGB. When Neil Peart began writing the lyrics, he decided to replace the MGB with one of his favorite cars, a Ferrari 166MM Barchetta. |

As I said before, always great visuals with Rush shows, but the past few tours have added a new element. PYRO! The "circuits blowing" line had some nice explosives added in! |
