I'm also disappointed about the nominees, but among them I save Stone Age. I preferred to see at least Metropolys or Hanging Gardens. Wie verhext could be a good candidate but I don't know if it will be possible to define any 2 rules variants. Keltis seems a bit cold... Anyway the best family game is Jamaica: great, but too expensive.
For the second time in five years, the G-Men are Super Bowl champs! Woo hoo!!!!!

I wonder how Reiner would feel if Keltis, a nice but on the whole rather mediocre game, were to win it for him.
I believe the expression is, "he would laugh all the way to the bank!"
BTW, I've played Keltis once and probably enjoyed it more than my one game of Zooloretto. I'm not saying either is a great game, merely that Knizia has no reason to be ashamed for the work he did in converting Lost Cities to a multiplayer format (which isn't as easy as you might think), just like Michael Schacht shouldn't apologize for converting an earlier game (Coloretto) into his SdJ winner. The Jury is clearly looking for light family games in recent years and the designers, who aren't dummies, are giving them precisely what they want. Everyone acknowledges that this is an off year and Knizia, who has had some remarkably bad luck in the past with respect to the SdJ, may finally catch a break.
Of course, he still has to win the thing and that is far from a sure bet.
I just can't understand why no Metropolys on the list. From this list above, Stone Age seems to be a clear winner (although I didn't really like it), maybe Wie Verhext has some chance too.
As it seems, two in a row would have been too much ...
Yes! Zooloretto... Aquaretto... We were already satisfied enough of Zooloretto and we didn't need to capture other poor animals... A wrong message to our children...
