When I purchased BattleLore in late 2006, I didn't know at the time that I was going to spend so much time on it for customization. I started painting the figurines in December 2006 and by the end of 2007, I was done painting the base set. However, the expansions came, and it was much more to do. Unfortunatly, I didn't have the time to complete the painting and I left paint and brushes in the closet for almost 6 monthes.

Finally, last Week end, I ended up taking all of the remaining unpainted units and finish the job.

So here we are! 380 units!!! BattleLore with all the current expansions!!!

note: with the futur expansions, I will uptdate the list if necessary

Edit: Thanks for the tipers and all your comments. It is a real pleasure to see that my work is appreciated.

Nice paint job. What's the story with the cut on the top of the base? Did you slip with a craft knife or something?

I wouldn't call someone who painted all BattleLore figures lazy.

I like what you did with the shield designs, although from the look of it they're not decals. Did you print these designs in colour onto paper, cut them out, and then glue them to the shields? Where did you get the designs?

Any possibility of getting a link to those photoshoped designs for the shields ? Just curious - since I would hate to redo work that was done by someone else.

Thanks

Yes. First, a olive-green layer. then, then blue lines, and then red on the top for the color dominance

All the dwarves were painted this way, with different colors, depending on the banner.

While I really liked the "glowing" magma version on DOW's website, I think this simple "earth" theme is more elegant.

Yes, as I was hoping for more elemental creatures, I didn't want to do a "fire" elemental with some magma or hot colors. I therefore keep the original idea of Earth, and made a simple style. Works great on the board, but definitely not as "eye candy" than the magma version.

These are super! Did you use any sort of varnish or ? to protect the paint job? After all the work do you think you will play the game. What sort of storage solution did you come up with?

This is a very impressive undertaking and an exceptional result. I can only imagine that the gameplay experience with the excellently painted minis + the dice tower and other improvements would be top notch.

I am very new to the game, but I definitely felt that the relatively boring looking plastic minis does deterioriate from the game's potential. (They could have atleast made the plastic minifig color match their unit type. It wouldn't have prevented people like you from painting them, but it would make the experience for someone like myself much better.)

I'm thinking about getting three can's of base coating in the three main colors and painting them all with a thin base coat matching their unit color. I could easily go in later and give them additional painted details.

As someone who just started painting my Battlelore set I am awed. Those look great! I have a feeling its going to take me a long time to do it also.

The box in the video for storing your painted minis did you build it yourself, or is there somewhere i can get one (not the chest but the actual small red boxes for the units)?

Again great job.
