There is a famous poem by William Carlos Williams, "This is Just to Say," written as though it were a note on a refrigerator:
I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox
and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast
Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold
This poem is often used as inspiration for variance, so why not via board games?

ignorance of the value
this old game had
in my life;
you are new to this
boardgame "thing"
which is a source of
joy to me
but I cannot excuse
your lack of care for
someone else's stuff.
