I've recently realized a trend in my searching for potential trades with my fellow BGGer's. I've done this from the start, but caught on to it yesterday. I have always used Trade Manager to find potential matches for my wants and/or trade aways. But I also have then gone in and searched through user's listings that are trading away what I want, or wanting what I'm trading.

I usually only do this for games I really want to have, or get rid of. I open their collections up manually and look at what they are offering. Yes this is time consuming, (thank god for lots of blank spaces during long work days!) but this has become a treasure hunt for me.

I then come across games I have never heard of, forgotten about, or am otherwise ignorant of, and using the great BGG database read of them. This process has added almost 100 games to my wants over time, as well as making some trades I would not have found otherwise.

So anyone else had this phenonemon? Let us know!

(ps. My stumbling across I.C.E.'s Silent Death Silent Death: The Next Millennium Deluxe Edition
was to impetus for this.)
(pps. first geeklist ever for me, so please excuse any goof-ups here blush)
Edit: I just read a good Geeklist for newbie's and not. So I take back my apology of potentail first lister mistakes, and look forward to many more lists and comments!)

I recently added this to my want list after doing exactly what you describe. If you want to move less desirable items out of your collection this is pretty much what you have to do. Find someone who wants it and then go through their trades and see what your willing to accept in return. It's rarely a very successful approach.
