We didn't realize at the time, but the 29th of July was Richard Irving's last meeting with us, since "The Man" let him return home to Salinas. (Say "hi" to John Steinbeck for me!)

The guys taught Stacy the #1 game on the Geek...and Richard L was nice enough to keep Stacy out of last place while Rich I & John fought to the last point.

I've realized that the last two times I taught this game, I've taught one rule wrong. Sadly, it's an important rule. The player with the least workers in hand does not pay ANYTHING on pay day... whoops. (Let's try it again with the right rule.)

Well, yes... but I would have taught the rule right, too.;)

A slightly more gamer-y version of Zooloretto... much fun.

Important safety tip: Will needs to learn to stop drawing from the bag.

Still hard to believe this classic Euro game was actually released in the U.S. by Milton Bradley.

Rich L's "no soup" was a bust... and Rich I managed to soak up lots of yummy stuff. I was surprised at how well the game worked w/3 players - I've always played it with more.

John's prototype, out for another test spin. My notes say "Will won" but don't tell me who he beat.

I did my usual "race for rivergold" - Mike was chipping away at mountaingold but at a much slower pace... and we tied!

I was surprised that this was close at all, but Mike's a good teacher.

I taught Will... and we tied. (This is better than my usual "I teach someone the game & I lose" method.)

At the time, Mark's tie was the best he'd done at the game. He had a losing streak of several games with his son :)

Jeff's right, we did play Um Reifenbreite... now to talk a group into playing a series of races & using the leader points.

Hey Mark, you need to leave the "Add item" option open on these. Steve G. and I did a late night, after-the-kids-are-in-bed-but-don't-feel-like-driving, game night. We played:

STARCRAFT TBG

I won with Overmind Zerg vs. Steve G's Tassadar Protoss. I was able to build three bases for special victory in Stage III. I don't think Tassadar has a chance against zerg in two player. Protoss build too slow and the 2p game is too short to out tech the zerg.

SHEAR PANIC

We tied but I won the tie breaker of mutton buttons on the side board. It's a really cute but deeply strategic game.

NACHO LOCO

Advanced Uno. Not bad with a cool puzzle aspect and VP. I was able to break the sudden death tie.

THE DOWNFALL OF POMPEII

Steve G. toasted most of my guys and he won by two I think.

We also played Um Reifenbreite. I only remember because it was the only game I won that night.
