Erik Warnes (unixrevolution) had initiated the BGG chain of generosity which has been going strong since then. Unfortunately, global mail prices can be quite high, probably making the list a little uninteresting for non-Americans (though a few do regulary participate in the chain). With this GeekList I'll try to play my part to make a similar chain avaiblable to all Europeans (thanks, Jack (anglotiger), for the suggestion of a seperate GL!). Over the years more generous Geeks started different chains and we currently have the following running all across Europe:

Original Chain of Generosity and Pay It Forward Chain (Board Games / more largish game offers)
Woolly Shrubbery Chain and The JAGGY Chain (Board or card games)
Shane Chain and The Shane Chain - part deux (Board or card games)
Original Card Game Chain and Second Card Game Chain (Card games only)
Game parts, Miniatures and Small Expansions Chain (as it says-should fit into a stuffed envelope or small box)
The Delicacies Chain (local sweet or salty treats plus something gaming related - needs to alternate between countries)
The ALEGRIA Chain (only for kids, youngsters and party games - no problem if the adults like them, too)
The JOGO EU Chain (board games, card games and anything gaming related) (JogoEu blog)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The rules (shamelessy but with thanks copied from the global chain):

RULES:

1. You must comment to the item in question indicating you wish to be in the drawing to recieve it in order to be eligible to win.
2. If you win one, you MUST post a game of your own to give away in this fashion. If you don't like that idea, don't play. Please do not wait until you receive your win before offering a game of your own - its all about generosity.
3. Set a deadline of around 5 to 10 days.
4. In the event that no offers are made on your game within the deadline, try a different game in its place and set a new deadline.
5. If you wish to start a new chain, post an item to the geeklist and put "SEED" in bold in the description. For those later in the chain, identify which chain your game belongs to.
6. Sender pays shipping, unless he indicates in his entry that the recipient will and under what grounds (International shipping, etc). Anyone signing up to receive an item where recipient pays shipping agree to do so.

AND NOW HAVE FUN SPREADING GENEROSITY AROUND EUROPE!

Woohoo I won the last one, so it's up to me to send a game.

So here it is. Through the desert. French version, but basically it's language independent.

I'll add Affentheater in german.

Open till 18th June 10:22

Good luck to everyone.

So time has come to reveal the winner:

We have 3 participants, so I will roll a D6 dice.

1 or 2 for Vryolakas
3 or 4 for Matildadad
5 or 6 for leaxe

I will roll the dice till I have 2 times the same result.

1st roll: a 6
2nd roll: a 3
3rd roll: a 5

So the games go to leaxe

Wow...
First participation, a chance of 1/14 on top of that, and I really won.
I know my probabilities, that's what they made me study Math for...

So with all due humbleness, and to celebrate this day, here comes what I hope will be regarded as the fine offer it is intended to be.

A brand new copy of The Thief of Baghdad in shrinkwrap.
Multi-language edition (German, Dutch, French, Italian), but the bits and pieces are language-independent anyway, and the English rules are available here:
http://www.queen-games.de/dmdocuments/Bagdad_Regel_UK.pdf

Got it for my birthday after having bought a copy myself a few days earlier.

You can sign in to this until Sat June 20 evening CEST.

Have fun everybody!

*********** UPDATE ***********

OK a friend of mine rolled dice to determine the winner, using dice I had once given her as a present.
In chronological order:
1 for Vryolakas
2 for Pedrator
3 for HRune
4 for Kravchuk
5 and 6 for keeping the game whistle

And the winner is....

4 Kravchuk
поздравляю

Greetings and game go to Moscow.

Great! I won, so it is my time to list another one.

Let's try this one. Die Sterne Stehen Richtig. German, but can be played with a small help sheet without any problem. Do not let the graphic fool you. Not a funny game. Burns your brain. I suggest you do not play it with 4 players. 2 or 3 are ideal.

So, ladies and gentlemen, sign up...

If nobody wants it, I try another one.

As I will be away from next Thursday, so I have to set the deadline for this for MONDAY22/06/2009 12:00 CET so I can ship it the next day for the lucky winner.

UPDATE: I realized that this got much cheaper than I thought, so I add Lost Cities + Relikt as a sweetener.

As the last winner in this chain I want to say thanks to Düsterwäldler.

Here is my offer: russian version of "Maka Bana", also known as
"Райский остров" ("Paradise island" or "Heavenly island", don't sure). Game is language independent. There are 4 russian words (names of beaches) on the gameboard, but you need to know only first letters to play this game without any troubles.
Russian rules are inside the box, English rules you may find here:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/filepage/4781.
Game is not new, but in very good condition. I played it no more than 3 times.
Here some photos of this game.

You can sign in to this until Friday 26 15:00 GMT.

There will be coin toss now.

Tails - Pavlusha.

Almost tangentially related to the underwater adventuring of the game I've just received thanks to Matildasdad, I present a copy of Lost Cities. High-quality and very popular game, solidly in the Geek's Top 200.

It's been well-played but is in very good condition, and I'm afraid I cannot for the life of me find the rules booklet, for which I apologise unreservedly, but there's a copy available in most languages here onsite. The game itself is totally language independent.

Free postage in EU.

I will do the random draw at 8pm, Wednesday 26th August

Entry Closed

OK, the time is upon us, just the two in it, and in front of me I just happen to have a deck of Blue Moon City cards: I think they'll do for a random draw.

So I'm assigning Hoax, Vulca, Khind and Mimix to Louise; Flit, Pillar, Terrah and Aqua to Michal.

**shuffles thoroughly; asks the wife to cut**

It's a Flit! Congratulations, Michal: trade proposal on the way.

THE 1ST ANNIVERSARY GIVE-AWAY

Unbelievable, but the Euro Generosity Chain turned one year old 4 days ago. Starting with the PAN EURO GENEROSITY CHAIN on 19 August 2008, the Chain forked into 4 individual chains, currently featuring:

PAN EURO GENEROSITY CHAIN
CARD GAME CHAIN
PAY IT FORWARD CHAIN
THE SMALL EXPANSIONS CHAIN

All chains have been a success with the SMALL EXPANSION CHAIN struggeling a bit.

This item is the 123rd on offer, meaning we had a game up for graps almost every 3rd day - with some items not having found a recipient, true.

So far we had 56 generous geeks with lots more interested in the chains. Seems that lady luck liked the one and other geek better.

What were the most interesting games, counted by the geeks interested:
Wasabi! (HRune - 14 modest )
Race for the Galaxy (Vryolakas - 12)
Duel of Ages Set 1: Worldspanner (Pokke - 11)
Dice Town (Michel - 10)
The Fury of Dracula or Jambo & Bison: Thunder on the Prairie (Pavlusha - 10)
The Princes of Florence (Jern - 10)

So, thanks to all of you! The Chains would not have been like this without your generosity!

EUROPEAN CARD GAME CHAIN
None of the 121 wanters seems to want 6 Nimmt! for free. Perhaps they all want the re-make.

Let's change the main attraction (and the metaphor).

This is an excellent print, played and enjoyed a couple of times. It even featured in a recent GeekList http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/45446

The second feature remains the same:
Dream Team

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1011

Complete with original dice and an English rules and cards translation.

Once again I am humiliated by the Market. blush

I will put up a new offer this evening...there must be something...

LATE BREAKING EXTRA!
Leaxe has kindly offered to take these off my hands. Take 'em away Gergely.

I thank you.

OPTION 1:
Up for grabs is Coloretto.
I have two so this I can offer up for the chain.
Like new.

OPTION 2:

Good condition, played about 10 times. Good starter for a game night while waiting for others to show up. Also a hit with kids.

CLOSED

I grabbed a bit dirty 5 cents coin laying around.

the number side up: Game Knight
nice spanish cathedral on the other side: Pete

my girlfriend helped me to toss the coin, so blame her...

it is tails, so with the number up, then the winner is GAME KNIGHT

OK people, there's no letting up in the EUROPEAN CARD GAME CHAIN

Next up: a copy of the oh-so-friendly card trading game Bohnanza! I believe the author, whose name eludes me for the moment, did another game involving planting things a while later...

Anyway, this is the German version (Amigo), but it's easy enough to tell all the beans apart

For people not into beans, also still available:

Hexenhammer

OR

Gargon

Let me know what takes your fancy (other than Jessica Alba!)! Winner to be announced on Monday the 14th of September!
.
.
.
OK, surprisingly Bohnanza itself got no interest, but both alternatives did! A bit like a B-side becoming the bigger hit

Anyway, with two interested parties, the coin toss is back! For neutrality's sake I won't use a German or Portuguese one, but a shiny Belgian 2 euro coin.

Heads: Christian gets Gargon
Tails: Pedro gets Hexenhammer

Here we go...

HEADS! Congrats to Christian! And Pedro, I'll be sure to offer HH again next time
