Erik Warnes (unixrevolution) had initiated the BGG chain of generosity which has been going strong since then. Unfortunately, global mail prices can be quite high, probably making the list a little uninteresting for non-Americans (though a few do regulary participate in the chain). With this GeekList I'll try to play my part to make a similar chain avaiblable to all Europeans (thanks, Jack (anglotiger), for the suggestion of a seperate GL!). Over the years more generous Geeks started different chains and we currently have the following running all across Europe:

Original Chain of Generosity and Pay It Forward Chain (Board Games / more largish game offers)
Woolly Shrubbery Chain and The JAGGY Chain (Board or card games)
Shane Chain and The Shane Chain - part deux (Board or card games)
Original Card Game Chain and Second Card Game Chain (Card games only)
Game parts, Miniatures and Small Expansions Chain (as it says-should fit into a stuffed envelope or small box)
The Delicacies Chain (local sweet or salty treats plus something gaming related - needs to alternate between countries)
The ALEGRIA Chain (only for kids, youngsters and party games - no problem if the adults like them, too)
The JOGO EU Chain (board games, card games and anything gaming related) (JogoEu blog)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The rules (shamelessy but with thanks copied from the global chain):

RULES:

1. You must comment to the item in question indicating you wish to be in the drawing to recieve it in order to be eligible to win.
2. If you win one, you MUST post a game of your own to give away in this fashion. If you don't like that idea, don't play. Please do not wait until you receive your win before offering a game of your own - its all about generosity.
3. Set a deadline of around 5 to 10 days.
4. In the event that no offers are made on your game within the deadline, try a different game in its place and set a new deadline.
5. If you wish to start a new chain, post an item to the geeklist and put "SEED" in bold in the description. For those later in the chain, identify which chain your game belongs to.
6. Sender pays shipping, unless he indicates in his entry that the recipient will and under what grounds (International shipping, etc). Anyone signing up to receive an item where recipient pays shipping agree to do so.

AND NOW HAVE FUN SPREADING GENEROSITY AROUND EUROPE!

Woolly Shrubbery Chain

Back at home let me offer a new woolly shrubbery. I offer a choice between two different 2-player games:

1) Invers

2) Subulata

Both games are in very good condition.

Offer is open until August 30th.

Update: Ok, we have two contestants - ousgg and Pedrator.

So, can I find a good randomizer? I will add up the current ranks of the games in my Top 10 list. If the sum is odd, ousgg will receive InVers, if it is even, Pedrator will receive Subulata:

Akaba - 1712
Through the Ages: A Story of Civilization - 4
Tichu - 37
StreetSoccer - 560
Shogun - 25
Agricola - 2
Pickomino - 668
Age of Steam - 16
Age of Renaissance - 296
Vinci - 153
--------------------------
sum : 3473 --> odd. And the winner is: ousgg! Congratulations!

ORIGINAL CARD GAME CHAIN

I actually am struggling to find any obvious card games that I can live without. I have offered this game as it's small in size with large counters that could almost be called cards. If I don't get any takers I'll go further afield to hunt one down.

This is the German version of Turbo Taxi. I believe English rules are on the Geek. A fun little game in very good condition.

I'll close at end next Sunday (29th August).

Disaster - I need to find another game. Please bear with me.

Thank goodness - we have a winner.

David - it's on it's way (well, shortly).

Seed: The JAGGY Chain

As those of you who are paying attention to the comments at the bottom might be aware, I have been helping relieve Jon (aka Talismanisland) of some of his games, and I did promise to start a new chain. So, I present the JAGGY Chain (which stands for Jon's a Good Guy, Yeah!)

So, first up in the Talisman chain is the well-regarded Atmosfear: The Card Game. It's got a little box wear, but the game is complete.

I will also throw in Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. This is - to be honest - not great as a board game, but it is in mint condition, and has lovely components. Must be worth something to a LotR fan.

You can put any game or games you like on the JAGGY Chain.

Closed

Just two competitors this time, and we will be letting this afternoon's match between Aston Villa and Everton decide the winner. Specifically, the time of the first yellow card.

If it is odd, then Konrad will win.
If it is even, then Pedro will win.

....AND....

Richard Dunne picked up the first booking of the game, in the 12th minute. So I declare Pedro to be the winner!

The Original Chain of Generosity

I'm offering an oldie but goodie. The settlers of Catan the card game.

There is some shelf wear on the box, but the components are all in excellent condition. I had bought a second copy to try the tournament rules with my wife, but we felt it was too much hassle to construct decks, and we prefer to play the standard game.

I see there is little interest as of yet. Maybe that will change if I sweeten this with the T2002 tournament cards (also in German)

This item will be open until Sunday night, 12 a.m.

Free shipping within Europe of course.

Hm, no takers. Guess, I'll be keeping it then. Maybe not language independent enough for a pan-euro chain. Let's see if I can't find something less text-heavy. I'll be back with a new offer over the next few days.

OK, we are back with the Second Card Game Chain!

I didn't have any card games lying in wait to get rid of, so had to take a look through my collection and came across this. I really like Morgenland, but for some reason it hardly ever got to the table so I got rid of it. I got this one as a substitute and liked my play of it at Essen 2009, but then realized that somehow I hadn't played it since. Maybe time to give up on it and let someone else enjoy it?

As an alternative, I can offer an English version of Guillotine, in good condition, missing the original rules but with a pdf-printout included.

Winner to be announced this Sunday, September 19th, in the afternoon!

WOOLLY SHRUBBERY CHAIN

Davy Jones Gold is a standalone constructable-ships game which looks pretty good fun. A couple of the cards have been punched and constructed, but the majority are in mint condition. I will throw in a handful of spare PotC constructable ships cards which I have knocking about as well, although I believe the two are not actually compatible. It is fairly little-known, hence an unfair ranking by BGG standards.

Alternatively, I have a copy of Comings & Goings (aka Paternoster), which is a prince among memory games.

Alternatively alternatively, how about Stratego 4? It's a blessed change from bog-standard Stratego and playable with three or four.

Ending on 19th September.

Who got married and went on honeymoon all of a sudden! Hence the short delay - congratulations, mate.

Right, on with the new offer. It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago, and I received a lovely set of good quality poker chips, which are happily fulfilling many of my game-scoring requirements.

Consequently, I have a fair few bits and pieces to give away. Take your pick from

d10-1 A set of CHEAP poker chips. These are made of plastic and come in a case that's quite badly beaten up. Denominations of 1,5,10,25. The chips themselves have been plenty used but are undamaged. Still lots of potential for a beginners set or to sub into a game if you don't have nice poker chips, like me.

OR

d10-2 A set of paper money from Tycoon.

OR

d10-3 A set of paper money from St Petersburg

OR

d10-4 A set of $1,000 and $5,000 chits from Wyatt Earp

OR

d10-5 A set of chips from Head-to-head Poker

OR

d10-6 A set of octagonal coins from Small World

Please be clear which lot you want to be in for, because it might affect my other plans for Generosity and lotteries this month.

Oopsie! Sorry for the delay; I'm normally better behaved than this.

Just the two competitors: Jon and Arne, and my drawing mechanism is going to be the fridge thermometer. When I go to get a beer out, it will show me the temperature in degrees Celcius to one decimal point. If it's odd, Jon wins. If it's even, Arne wins...

Mmmmm...beer...

And the fridge is at 4.9 degrees!

Jon, you win my Small World money. It will make plenty of room in the box for the next expansion, at any rate.

shake Thanks Arne this will run until Friday 8th October

After a busy game playing weekend I eventually get around to drawing this and as my copy of scrappers arrived this morning I will pick the winner by drawing one of the five character tokens (I havent read all the rules so not sure of the significance of them)
Entrants are:-

ousgg - Guppy
Ravenhoe - Riggs
Whislteblower - Keelie
leaxe - Izzy
cuazzel - Lug

Izzy it is, so leaxe wins this item.

Pay it forward chain

I was lucky enough to win, so let's try these:

Option 1: Carcassonne: Catapult (no box, but you get the rest)

Option 2: probably you have never seen this: Armada

Option 3: Colossal Arena FRENCH edition

Option 4: M (no box any more...)

Dug up more stuff. Bit short on entries as listed a lot on Essen Math trade.

So as extras to the options above there are:
- Weilong from Artscow
- a deck of No Thanks (Artscow)
- unfinished print-n-play project (printed and cut characters for Slapshot (superheroes etc.) Have to sleeve them with worthless magic cards and playable if you also print the playboard
- unfinished print-n-play project (rat-hot, printed, laminated, cut but never took the time to glue them on something thick)
- unfinished print-n-play project (Dune express map - my design - printed, laminated, never finished the rest)
- unfinished print-n-play project (Igel Ärgern retheme - cows+UFOs on the field)
- 20 wooden cubes from some unfinished project (natural color)

Deadline 19 october (tuesday), evening hours

If the winner (or a friend) will be in Essen, I can hand it over personally on thursday (21 oct)

Game Parts, Small Expansions & Miniatures Chain

CLOSED

Well done to pkmatchbox!! Posted details below!!

After a redrawing, for reasons outlines below, we have a new winner!! Congratulations to crimhead!!

Finally I have managed to get around to posting something that I think will be of interest to some people. I am not sure if it is a limited market, but I have a couple of promotional cards for the Revised 4th Edition of Talisman by Fantasy Flight Games going begging.

These are two Adventure cards with illustrations by Felicia Cano being the Doppelganger and the Instructor.

These cards were only available with preorders and from local game shops. They are in rather short supply, but I figured I would spread the love a bit!

Given the rarity of these items, I think it only fitting to open up the chain to BGGers from around the Globe, but with the proviso that if someone from outside Europe should win, that they must be willing to carry on the chain by posting whatever it is they offer to Europe. Fair enough?

This chain will run for a couple of weeks, ending at around tea time on Sunday the 31st of October.

Good luck!!

ORIGINAL CARD GAME CHAIN!

Ok guys! Sorry for the delay. I hope this offer makes up for it.

I'm offering a brand new shrinkwrapped german edition of Cacr(d)cassonne for all the Carcassonne fans out there and am sure very pleasing little game for all not familiar with the Carcassonne family. for a cardgame it's actually a pretty large box, so I'm sure it has got a lot of meaty stuff in it!

Offer will be on till Sunday 24th of October!

Good luck to you all!

Ups! I just got distracted! Rolled a 6D on random.org (how original!) and the six was rolled!

Well? How exciting does this one look?

I'll leave it on for a week, so till 31st of October.
