Erik Warnes (unixrevolution) had initiated the BGG chain of generosity which has been going strong since then. Unfortunately, global mail prices can be quite high, probably making the list a little uninteresting for non-Americans (though a few do regulary participate in the chain). With this GeekList I'll try to play my part to make a similar chain avaiblable to all Europeans (thanks, Jack (anglotiger), for the suggestion of a seperate GL!). Over the years more generous Geeks started different chains and we currently have the following running all across Europe:

Original Chain of Generosity and Pay It Forward Chain (Board Games / more largish game offers)
Woolly Shrubbery Chain and The JAGGY Chain (Board or card games)
Shane Chain and The Shane Chain - part deux (Board or card games)
Original Card Game Chain and Second Card Game Chain (Card games only)
Game parts, Miniatures and Small Expansions Chain (as it says-should fit into a stuffed envelope or small box)
The Delicacies Chain (local sweet or salty treats plus something gaming related - needs to alternate between countries)
The ALEGRIA Chain (only for kids, youngsters and party games - no problem if the adults like them, too)
The JOGO EU Chain (board games, card games and anything gaming related) (JogoEu blog)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The rules (shamelessy but with thanks copied from the global chain):

RULES:

1. You must comment to the item in question indicating you wish to be in the drawing to recieve it in order to be eligible to win.
2. If you win one, you MUST post a game of your own to give away in this fashion. If you don't like that idea, don't play. Please do not wait until you receive your win before offering a game of your own - its all about generosity.
3. Set a deadline of around 5 to 10 days.
4. In the event that no offers are made on your game within the deadline, try a different game in its place and set a new deadline.
5. If you wish to start a new chain, post an item to the geeklist and put "SEED" in bold in the description. For those later in the chain, identify which chain your game belongs to.
6. Sender pays shipping, unless he indicates in his entry that the recipient will and under what grounds (International shipping, etc). Anyone signing up to receive an item where recipient pays shipping agree to do so.

AND NOW HAVE FUN SPREADING GENEROSITY AROUND EUROPE!

Game parts, Miniatures and Small Expansions Chain.

Ok, seems I do not have any Carcassonne expansions available anymore. I thought, I did. Ok, how about one of the following?

i) Cuba: Spielecafé as shown on the left side

or alternatively

ii) Kontor: 3 & 4 player expansion

still uncut and with German rules only. I do not own Kontor anymore, so this expansion would be much better at home with someone else.

or alternatively

iii) Robotics: Die neuen Robotics-Marken

So - what will it be? The draw box is open until August 28th sometime during the day.

Update 28/8: 3 contestants, 2 for the Kontor expansion, one for the Cuba Spielecafe. As I am currently at the airport, I could probably choose some crazy randomizer right here. But I am a little tired and unimaginative. Thus I will use the nice new roll feature and roll a d3:
d3 = (1) = 1

Congrats cuazzel! I should have rolled yesterday and could have included the expansion in the math trade parcel. At least I have your address at hand.

or

Day & Night - highly-regarded 2P game. English/Dutch, medium language dependency.

or, if you're REALLY desperate

This is a copy of Carcassonne: Mayflower aka New World: A Carcassonne Game

Its been opened and only played twice, so good condition all round.

Alternative

Alternatively if all things Carc are not you thing then an alternative offer is Gardens of Alhambra. I know this was offered recently in a previous chain, hence the Carc: Mayflower but thought i'd offer the choice just in case. This is the Queen Games multi lingual edition covering Spanish, English, French and German. Played only once, nice looking, but just not my thing.

You've just acquired this fine specimen of a game (even though none of my friends showed an interest in it...)

THE JAGGY CHAIN!

Ok, just for Pedro, I'm offering this game although I need to make a full disclosure about it's condition:
I acquired this game at a thrift store and while the contest are complete and in good condition, the box looks a bit frayed at the bottom edges. If needed, I'll take some photos and post here. Also, this is the Dutch version, with some language dependency.

EDIT - NEW ITEMS
Acquire

Monkeys on the Moon

San Juan

Family Fluxx

Or alternatively - if anyone is interested, they can have a look at my For trade list and ask for one of those games! I'll consider all requests, but no promises!

ATTENTION!
Sorry, thirdeye333, but I can no longer offer Batavia. The results of the European math trade were revised and suddenly Batavia has to be sent off on my side. I'll post other game(s) later tonight or tomorrow when the results of the MT have been finalized (unless the results change again and Batavia becomes available again...).

Sorry again for this.

The other option is this game:

Batavia
German version, but the components are language independent (so, the rules are in German, but English rules are available at the publisher's website, or I can e-mail them to the recipient).

I'll leave this open till the 21st of September. Please send me a reminder if I forget!

OK...this idea might die a horrible death, but let's see how it goes.

Seed - The Delicacies Chain - Closed

I'll leave the rules up for future reference.

We seem to have six competitors, and I have a bag with two very English snacks and a good old d6 to hand.

1 - Jan-Willem
2 - kreikkaturklainen
3 - Pedro
4 - Arne
5 - Christian
6 - Gudjon

**throws die onto carpet**

Arne - you're a winner (like it or not!). Geekmail on the way. Also...I should vacuum more often.

Rules of The Delicacies Chain:

1 Select a delicacy and send it to one of the people, randomly chosen, who say 'IN' in the comments.

2 Make sure your delicacy is something that isn't widely available and won't spoil in the post!

3 To keep this legit, you need to include something that is used to play games: a small expansion, a deck of cards, a few dice would all be fine!

4 For the purpose of international brotherhood, all links in this chain are to be international, so don't go in for something if you are from the same country as the sender. Equally, don't go IN if you are not prepared to deal with the higher cost of shipping.

5 The delicacy, and the gaming item, do NOT need to be advertised in advance. This one is about surprise. Post one of the thousands of games about food as the Geeklist item.

6 For the purposes of customs, the sender needs to be responsible for any customs charges or confiscations. Don't blame me if your marinated shark's fin doesn't get there!

So, I am starting this chain. I'm going to pop down the deli later today and pick up something interesting for a lucky winner. I don't know what it will be yet. Who's in?

Closing Date: 22nd September

The latest entry in the
Jaggy Chain

Choose from:

Axis and Allies - Second Edition. Box slightly battered. All components dumped in box - will need sorting out. However, it has barely been played so is generally in good condition. Instructions in English.

War on Terror Almost as new. I think about three pages have been used from the secret message pad, and even the pencil's still sharp. But remember this game has been classified as an offensive weapon by police (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/war-on-terror-boa...), so don't blame me if it's seized by customs. Instructions in English.

To be drawn on 1 October.

Looks like there are eight entrants. Here we go:

Second Card Game Chain - Closed

Sorry for the procrastination. I've got this all boxed up and ready to go now.

Eight participants, all drawn in by R-Eco apparently. Fancy blackmailing me into putting better games on the offer...I don't know.

Anyway, it must be time for the Citadels cards.

Matt - Assassin
Pedro - Thief
Michal - Magician
Helio - King
Pete - Bishop
Elia - Merchant
Nancy - Architect
Rob - Warlord

**shuffle, shuffle**

And it's...

The Assassin! Congratulations Matt!

OK, no-one wants Set? Your loss, I assure you.

How about R-Eco instead, then? I'll throw in the other two as freebies because I need the shelf space. So a little box of three card games: R-Eco, Set and Sequence.

I'll extend the deadline for this until 30th September

Closed!

I will select some nice(?) bavarian delicacy to be delivered with some gaming goodie to the lucky IN-yeller of this item. According to therules set out by Ben, no German will be eligible for this item, as it should cross at least one border.

International Shipping will be on me but the recipient might have to take care of customs-I will not check if the delicacy meets any custom rules.

What will you recieve? A Surprise!laugh

I will leave this open until the last day of the Octoberfest: October 3rd.

Ok, four contestants brave the unknown waters of bavarian delicacy... Sauerkraut you say? Bratwurst you say? Hah! That would be too easy, would it not?

So, who will be so lucky?
1: Fiona97

3: kreikkaturkulainen (long names should be forbidden )
4: Xelforp

Congrats, Xelforp! Iceland it is, I have to get some Sauerkraut, I guess.

Delicacy and something gamsey will be on their way once I get/find your address. Must be somewhere still.

James - Megastar

It's time for a Kan-U-Go deck. I've drawn six cards: J,C,P,F,G and I (for James).

**shuffle, shuffle**

And the winner is...

Congratulations James!

I am the new host of the Woolly Shrubbery Chain, and I'm going to try something a bit different.

This is not for a deck of IDKWDYWP!

You tell me what I should give away!

Go and have a look at my game collection. Pick a game you fancy trying. Post it down below. I will tell you whether I'm willing to let it go on the Woolly Shrubbery Chain or not. If you fail, edit your post and have another go until you find something acceptable to us both

Please be realistic! You're not going to get Agricola or Twilight Struggle. Nor are you likely to get anything I've rated 7 or higher. Print-and-play games are fair pickings though - as I've done in the past, I'll make you a copy of any print-and-play I own.

Closes - 2nd October

Now the big question is, how is going to get this? Pedro, Pedrator, or The Ominous Voice from Below?
Either way, we have a winner. Please geekmail me your address so I can send you the game.

Well, I'm home early enough after all so let's do this right away.

Continuing the PAY IT FORWARD CHAIN, I'm offering the following to choose from:

Treasures & Traps

German language dependence; there is quite a lot of text on the cards.
Condition: Minor shelf wear on the box, cards still in shrink.

or

Armadöra

Rules are in German but there is no necessary in-game text and an English translation of the rules is available on the geek.
Condition: Minor shelf wear on the box. Game lightly played, in very good condition.

or

Simply Ingenious

Again, German rules but English translation can be downloaded from BGG. No necessary in-game text.
Condition: Shrink removed, but tiles unpunched. Box shiny and new too.

I will draw this some time on Sunday, October 9th, probably in the evening if anyone is interested in one of these.
(I'm in Vienna, Austria, which is UTC/GMT +1 hour I believe.)
