Erik Warnes (unixrevolution) had initiated the BGG chain of generosity which has been going strong since then. Unfortunately, global mail prices can be quite high, probably making the list a little uninteresting for non-Americans (though a few do regulary participate in the chain). With this GeekList I'll try to play my part to make a similar chain avaiblable to all Europeans (thanks, Jack (anglotiger), for the suggestion of a seperate GL!). Over the years more generous Geeks started different chains and we currently have the following running all across Europe:

Original Chain of Generosity and Pay It Forward Chain (Board Games / more largish game offers)
Woolly Shrubbery Chain and The JAGGY Chain (Board or card games)
Shane Chain and The Shane Chain - part deux (Board or card games)
Original Card Game Chain and Second Card Game Chain (Card games only)
Game parts, Miniatures and Small Expansions Chain (as it says-should fit into a stuffed envelope or small box)
The Delicacies Chain (local sweet or salty treats plus something gaming related - needs to alternate between countries)
The ALEGRIA Chain (only for kids, youngsters and party games - no problem if the adults like them, too)
The JOGO EU Chain (board games, card games and anything gaming related) (JogoEu blog)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The rules (shamelessy but with thanks copied from the global chain):

RULES:

1. You must comment to the item in question indicating you wish to be in the drawing to recieve it in order to be eligible to win.
2. If you win one, you MUST post a game of your own to give away in this fashion. If you don't like that idea, don't play. Please do not wait until you receive your win before offering a game of your own - its all about generosity.
3. Set a deadline of around 5 to 10 days.
4. In the event that no offers are made on your game within the deadline, try a different game in its place and set a new deadline.
5. If you wish to start a new chain, post an item to the geeklist and put "SEED" in bold in the description. For those later in the chain, identify which chain your game belongs to.
6. Sender pays shipping, unless he indicates in his entry that the recipient will and under what grounds (International shipping, etc). Anyone signing up to receive an item where recipient pays shipping agree to do so.

AND NOW HAVE FUN SPREADING GENEROSITY AROUND EUROPE!

PAYING IT FORWARD!

Nice! Thanks Willy for that awesome pack there! In return I got something extra-special! So I met this guy a few weeks ago who's designing a few very interesting board games. Yesterday I was play-testing the first game he's going to release: Trench and it's seriously promising for any strategy fan. Today though, I offer you one free copy of an already developed game waiting for Trench to be launched before hitting the stores. So you would be like the first Geek to own a copy of this (at least outside Portugal).

Covert

This game is a board-game conversion of the rock-paper-scissor game which works really nicely. It's awesome for you to play with small kids, the components are top-notch and the board is some kind of bendable plastic mat, so those devils can spill anything on board and bits and you'll just need a wet tissue to wipe it clean again. The board also has 2 sides for playing different variants. Also! I'm meeting the designer next weekend and will ask him to sign your copy (which is in shrink by the way, so I'll tear a bit of the shrink for him to sign the box for you). This is the Portuguese edition but I'll send you the English translation of the rules.

Pimping up this offer since nobody seems to be interested so far. Met the designer today who gave me a few extras. So if you're interested in getting this game, I'll add an official Covert T-shirt to it as well as a pin with the logo!

Also! Will add:

I'll leave it on for 5 more days and if nobody is interested in this little pack, I'll try to come up with something different. By the way, the copy is signed by the designer and still in shrink.

5 more days.

Nobody wants so I'll be back with a new offer soon. Stay tuned.

Original Card Games Chain!

CLOSED!

If by the 4th of June nobody is in the draw, I'll change the offer to a card game of your choice within the 20€ mark, from an OGS near you.

Draw on the 10th!

If you want Fantasy Pub Italian/French/German you can ask for it and insta-win the game. (I hope this is ok with the rules, if it's not please tell me)

Ok, time to finally draw!
I'll make a custom d13 only for you! Happy?
The tension builds up...

The Original Chain of Generosity - CLOSED !

"...but apart from better sanitation and medicine and education and irrigation and public health and roads and a freshwater system and baths and public order... what have the Romans done for us?"

Well, they inspired this nice little trading game named after the old Roman harbour outside Rome. A little wheeling and dealing, and you'll soon have a tidy nest egg. But money alone won't do you any good. If you want victory points, you'll need to donate some of the most needed items to the senate - but not too many or you'll have nothing to trade.

The game is unwrapped but new in the box. It's the German version, but there's very little language dependency in the game besides a few key phrases and the rules are available on BGG in a variety of trade tongues.

PLUS:
Aquarius

There's a small space in the box that I should be able to squeeze a card game into. A nice (but not new) copy of Looney Labs Aquarius (original version) should fit...

EDIT 1

Forgot a closing date. Let's make it roughly a week from today - so June 5 will be the draw.

The Grand Draw

Wow, this draw is causing me a lot of problems. Do you know how hard it is to find a 1-sided die! I had to take a moebius strip and warp it through most of the upper-dimensions to get it to work (and there are some nasty things in those upper dimensions!). But I finally got a one-sided die and so I'm ready to roll it.

The lottery is :

1 - Juleske

and die roll is... the suspense is mounting... drum roll please... it's rolling... it's rolling... it's going to fall off the table...no, it caught the sugar bowl and bounced back on... one final spin... it's coming to rest... the tension is unbearable now... a hush falls over the crowd... everybody is holding their breath... the die comes to a halt and it shows...

Spoiler (click to reveal)

It's a 1 ! What a surprise! Who would have thought it?
The crowd goes wild and Juleske is the winner!

Msg me your address and I'll get the box packed up and sent off next time I manage to find an open post office

THE WOOLLY SHRUBBERY CHAIN - CLOSED

There's nothing fishy about this tasty little game from Michael Schacht. Start your own home-delivery-sushi-service and serve as many types of customers as you can. But don't be in too much of a hurry or you won't get a decent tip. For a light filler there are a few tactical decisions to be made and a little bit of push-your-luck tension. It may lack the punch of a wasabi sandwich but it's a nice little nori roll-sized snack for 3 to 6 players that will whet your appetite for the bigger games to come.

Drawing will be in one week's time (10 June).

BONUS EXTRA:

Turn the Tide

An unopened copy of Land Unter (Turn the Tide) a nice little Stefan Dorra card game with the gimmick that everybody gets to play everybody else's hand so you can show just how much better (or worse) you would have played the cards dealt.

DRAW:

Time to draw out the trusty d1 again and roll it....

B:

Inkognito: The Card Game

Dungeoneer: Tomb of the Lich Lord
I pimped this a bit with extra dice, tokens and character stands.

Note on Phenomena:
This is a norwegian game with norwegian rules and norwegian text on the cards.
However, there is english translations on both rules and cards in the files section (by the author.)
I think it's a good game, a light adventure game with resource management. Semi co-op, with only one winner. I highly recommend it.

Note on shipping:
Because of the ridiculous high prices of the slow and underachieving norwegian postal service, I'm going to pack this as small as possible. Games within games.

I'm choosing a winner at Tuesday 26/6 20:00ish. Norwegian time.
Good luck.

With a small delay due to personal matters, the SECOND CARD GAME chain returns. I am going to take "card game" in the most liberal sense I can take, meaning if the game has cards, it's eligible.

Babel

The front of the box has a sticky spot because of a sticker that had been stuck there. I got the sticker unstuck but the stickiness still sticks and I didn't dare using sticker-remover on the stickiness, for fear it might stick to the colors of the box and it would all turn into a sticky mess.

The content is in great shape.

Clue: The Card Game

It's in dutch, but you can have
Monopoly: The Card Game

Also in Dutch together with it.

Or pick : Krumble

I'm sure tiles are close enough to cards. Multiple languages, including English.

Or this one : Naval Battles

From phalanx, language independent (but it's the Dutch box)

So anyway, let's see if anyone is interested in this, if not I'll find something else by the end on next week Wednesday June 20th at around 8pm-ish.

Anyone interested in a variety of snacks and stuff from the Old Smoke?

Drawing will be held on Monday 25th June.

Sorry for the slight delay. On with the picking. As Wimbledon Tennis has just started I will use Andy Murray's match today to decide the winner. More specifically the duration of his first set.

If it runs to a duration ending in 1-3 minutes then Christian wins
If it runs to a duration ending in 4-6 minutes then Jabagi K wins
If it runs to a duration ending in 7-9 minutes then Ake wins
If it runs to a duration ending in a big fat 0 it moves onto the next set.

See you later for the results.

OK So the first set ran to 30 minutes so we roll over to the second which lasted 25 minutes (What a blitzing) and means Jabagi Wins. GM on its way.
