I started the event with 4-players RFTG against Steve, Ricky & Willy and ended up at 2nd position behind Steve. He was using Consume VP2x constantly with some blue planets on his tableau and managed to collect 27 VP chips at the end of the game.
I went with various production planets and three 6-development but stuck on 36 VP, while Steve himself got 47 VP.

This game is really a hit in our group and is a must played game during every session we run:)

Next I played a 6-players Union Pacific using the revised rule for UP cards with Henry, Tia, Reyner, Diana & Steve and ended up at 4th position.

This is my first time playing UP with revised rules and I think this one is a winner. Player can no longer race for UP cards before the first scoring phase and can only get UP card by discarding one card from his/her hand.

The game ran smooth with Reyner started explaining the rules for some first-timer (notably the girls, Tia & Diana). the first & second scoring phase came up so close that we never got the chance to invest our newly acquired UP-cards. The fourth also occurred almost instantly after the third one came up.

Henry was unstoppable as he was the only one with 5 UP cards and managed to monopoly some company throughout the game.

Then I played the currently most-talked about game in the group, which is Stone Age, with stupid 'UGA UGA' yelling during every Stone Age session. Oh and we actually have a pithecanthropus erectus in the group...

This is my second Stone Age game and I played against Diana, henry & Reyner. We did not finished the game because of some mistakes in Hut building rule that we decided to halt the game.

btw I got home with 1 copy of fresh Stone Age

My last game during the whole session and actually the first time this game is played in our group (and perhaps in whole Indonesia). Played against Ricky, Reyner & Karno

It's a bidding game using building tiles combined with secret objectives, set collection, and area majority mechanics. I think it's actually a nice game but for me later on during the game lucky player can reap the benefit of claiming some dead-end location for free (I mean using low value buildings).

I ended up 4th position lol ninja

Some players already got exhausted including myself and we decided to play a lighter game. Taluva was chosen, the nude guy posing in the box cover already become a hot topic in our group.

No one had ever played this one here, and after a quick look at the rules we decided Not to play it, next time maybe.

Then I spent the rest of the session (till about 5:30 AM) by watching another table playing modern art & mall of horror

Some of us got a chance to play this game too. The player was me and Vidor as Free People, Agus and Dani as the Shadow player. We played it with Battle of Third Age Expansion.

In the begining The Shadow player was quite aggressive in hunting the fellowship. They managed to reveal the fellowship position several times. To counter this we had to halt the progress of fellowhip and started to advance nation on political track, did some reinforcement and managed to separate gandalf and strider. Later on Gandalf became Gandalf the white and we managed to advance strider to Minas Tirith and so he became Aragorn.

Seing this this the Shadow player began moving armies on the board. They stop pursuing the fellowship and start atacking the Elves and Rohan. They managed to overthrown Helm's Deep and Lorien.

While the Shadow player was busy attacking the nations, we started the progress of fellowship again and finally we succeded in getting to Mordor. Unfortunately the Free People did a very crucial mistake, we didn't separate the other companions from Frodo so that gives more eyes for Sauron to hunt us at Mordor :D

So in the end the Free People was terminated, and the history of the third age was rewritten :yuk:

Another Memoir 44 scenario was played between the experienced M44 player and the first timer M44 player. As i am the experinced one, i played Russia while Willy played Germany. As we all know in this expansion the Russian player will be one level more difficult to play since we need to use Political Commissar token. In lieu of playing command card already commited under commissar token it makes Russian player has no choice unless to play it (except Recon 1, counter attack and ambush cards)

We played break out at Klin. The German player moved fast his units because of avoiding of missing one figure for any flags result (because of the starting position) in center area. This become my sitting duck victims as their unit were uncovered by terrains. Soon i gained two medals by eliminating all infantry units in center.

But then, with a lot of right unit movement cards, Willy aggressively attacked and gangbanged my left infantry units. Score now : 2-2
Again i lost my tank units and left by 2-3.
The attacks become more aggressive from the German player. His tanks in right and center already in my defense perimeter, but I tried to turn the tide by forcing my attack movement from the right. It was a success strategy after pursuing German infantry unit in my right area, 3-3

I couldn't hold any longer as i lost two infantry units in one attack in center bringing the score 3-5.But it is not me if i cannot come out from this situation, those two enemy tank units which were deeply moving into my playing area were crushed by artilerry and tank of mine, 5-5. Still one tank unit ready to be crushed in my playing area.,

It was Willy’s turn , the enemy dice result was very bad, he attacked my only two figures of tank unit but the result was all three infantry figures!!!.

The turn went back to me. “It's now or never”, i said!! i changed my tactics. Because i didnot have center cards i attacked the lonely one figure tank unit in the city in right area. My last and final chance!! if i failed then i would have lost my reputation, and it would embrace my veteran name in M44 gaming.!!

The first infantry attacked!! i rolled using two dice aaaannnnndddddd.......yesss i got one tank figure from one die!!
The winning moment really really unforgettable I won by 6-5 only to the M44 newbie player

I safed my reputation then...:p

Gw bingung jelasin ni game pake bahasa inggris...ibarat jelasin catur pake bahasa inggris...tapi gpp d gw coba...mohon koreksi kalo ada salah...

Daniel applied defend strategy at the beginning, which was fatal...

My strategy was to play my queen as near as I could to his queen, so if he wanted to threaten my queen, his queen will be in threat too.

If Daniel played his main army sooner, he could win. At that stage (around turn 7/8) daniel played only 6 pieces and I already played 10 pieces...that's 6 against 10...too late for him...check mate.

But....daniel did his 'bocah' move:angry: he cancelled his move...but what can I say, he's the owner of the game. the game continues, but that can't change the flow of the game...check mate again....I won 1-0 (It supposed to be 2-0):p

rematch niel?

Just in case anybody wondering why a gaming group in Jakarta named as 'Batavia' Boardgaming Community ...

Back to the past, when our country, Indonesia, was still under Dutch colonization, our capital city, Jakarta, was called as Batavia ...

and in the next 2-3 months, we should be playing the Batavia boardgame at Batavia Boardgaming Community :laugh:
