Several games contain jokes that are specifically about games or target gamers. Inside jokes, that the non-gaming community just wouldn't catch. Some of us, on the other hand, will catch on right away. That's what this list is about: a pictorial gallery of such "inside jokes".

Note, this list is not about games with jokes or humour in general, but only games that have jokes about games or gaming.

What are some good examples? I've done some research and come up with over 50 entries, but I'm sure this doesn't exhaust the potential games that qualify. Feel free to add to this list, with pictures if possible!

NB: This list is being constantly updated; subscribe to be notified of new additions.

Most of the politician names are bad puns or plays on existing Russian political figures at the time. I'm happy to claim Boris and Natasha as my additions to the deck during the playtesting process. The backs of their cards give clear reference to their problems with moose and squirrel.

Magic the gathering featured a few wizards that dealt a single point of damage, cost 3 mana to summon and had one point of attack and defence.

These wizards became known as "tim" to magic players after the enchanter in monty python and the holy grail.

WOW TCG released....

A tribute to both monty python and magic.

Another Friedman game... Funny Friends is pretty much entirely inside jokes. The first thing I though of when I saw this list. There is a card in the game called "discover BSW". This seems like the ultimate insider joke to me...

If you look at the symbols below the card they mean that you will gain weight, gain knowledge, not have any romantic relationships and gain a friend.

Tons of references in this game. Another card in the "puberty" section is "color hair green"... Friedman's hair enters his game again!
