For those of you new to this list, I originally posted this list back in 2006 as a way to let my Santa know when I receive my gift without him/her worrying about divulging their identity. The list has gone well in the last two years and I am curious how large it will grow this year since there are around 1000+ participants this year (529 items in 2006, 874 items in 2007). This is a pretty good place to view the gifting as it progresses through the holiday season, so enjoy!

Use this as a central area to record what our Secret Santas sent us. When you post on this list, you may want to make a note on your profile so your Secret Santa knows to look on the list for your receipt and reaction. That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be released!

Please only make an entry when you actually receive the present!

If your Santa sends you more than one item, just list them all in one listing unless you think it makes more sense to list them separately. Remember to include any comments you want your Secret Santa to know!

I don't know about anyone else, but I generally obsess about whether a package has arrived at it's intended destination. I drive my wife crazy with checking tracking numbers constantly! So it will be nice to see when those gifts are actually received by the giftee (or are they just sitting unclaimed on the neighbor's porch?)

To see how the previous two years of Secret Santa-ing have gone on those year's versions of this list, look at these links:

WooHoo, I get to add to the list today! After arriving home from work I heard UPS at the door and a big package from Boulder Games was sitting there.

Now I hadn't ordered from Boulder recently so I knew it must be from Santa and inside were 2 nicely wrapped gifts, a gift certificate and candy!

I'm so glad Santa decided I didn't have too many games. I'm going to try and be good and not open them ... it may not last long...

Ok I peeked partly to send my wishlist to the family and mostly because I couldn't stand it any longer.

My super Santa sent Zooloretto XXL and Royal Place! Thanks so much Santa I look forward to playing both of them soon

Well, I've had my gift for a couple of weeks (some speedy action from my SS) but I've been waiting. So, today I decided to open it up to see if it was wrapped (ok, that's a weak excuse, but there it is) and found a very topical game - going to have to try to get this on the table in the next week or so, in commemoration of the actual event. Sure is cold enough here in Vermont right now . . .

Thanks Secret Santa!

Because I've been out of town for a little while, my gift has been sitting at Dickson Post Office for about a week. But this morning I finally got a chance to pick it up. I managed to wait a total of ten hours before giving into temptation and opening it. My excuse is that I need to update my wishlist for the benefit of my ANZAC Secret Santa and perhaps a family member or two to get me a gift. But who am I kidding, I would have opened it anyway.

When I opened the box I was very happy to see Mission Red Planet as well as:

Battleline

and Citadels

as well as a note from my Santa.

Thanks Santa, most appreciated. I have already had a couple of games of Battleline and can't wait to get stuck into the other two.

Thanks Santa!

Came home from work last night to find a big box from an online retailer. Opened the package and found Reef Encounter inside! I've heard great things about this game and have been wanting to play it for some time. It looks like a fun one, and I'm sure my family will be enjoying it over the holiday season!

Happy Holidays!

--TMIB

Whoa! Edited to add: I got a "taunt" from my Secret Santa teasing me for opening the box before Christmas. I explained to Santa that my family usually gets together to play games before Christmas, so I wanted to open it early to share with them. (Plus it helps with the duplicate gift situation). Santa then told me when my second gift arrived, I was only to open it before Christmas if I could commit to playing it before Christmas.

Wait, what? Second gift? Whoa! Yes indeed. Today a box arrived from Best Dang Games in Florida. I'm overwhelmed by Santa's generosity. Totally unexpected!

I will stay true to the spirit of Santa's request though, but I'll share the fun with my family. I'll see if my brothers want to get together and play a board game with me before the holiday- but I won't open it until we are all at the gaming table.

I'll update this post with details after the unveiling. Thanks Santa!

Edited again with further developments:

Oh my goodness, I'm overwhelmed by the generosity of my Secret Santa. I sat down at the board game table tonight with my brother, my cousin, and my son. We opened up the package and found inside:

Pandemic!

Wonderful! I'd had this on my list for a while, but have never even seen the game in person, let alone played it. I was a bit worried at first that the game would be difficult to learn quickly and play, but the game seems to be simple in concept, though it became obvious very quickly that the underlying strategies can become complex. We ended up losing (no red disease came on the board, very few yellow, and a TON of black- needless to say it rapidly became more than we could keep up on. Even so,we had a very fun game session and are looking to play again soon. We decided to follow it up with a game of Agricola (as my cousin pointed out, after we destroyed the world with disease, we had to rebuild it with an agrarian society.) We didn't end up playing Reef Encounter yet, but I'm sure it will hit the table soon.

A great time was had by all. Thanks again santa for the wonderful gifts!

So my secret santa was a sneaky fellow. I am not quite certain yet who they are, but I will go to great lengths to discover their identity..... after I finish my candidacy exam. Or perhaps as I procrastinate. But I digress. I had been anxiously awaiting a package ever since Santa so kindly taunted me on Black Friday about a package being in the mail.

And it finally arrived on Thursday the 4th. Which also happened to be the day that I stayed home with the lovely stomach flu that I had contracted. But again, I digress. But this did mean that I was able to get the package the day it was delivered, instead of having to stalk the apartment office and miss work to get the pakcage, or worse yet -- wait until the weekend.

So my feverish and sick self collected the package, did a little dance of joy, and hobbled back to the apartment where I tore into the package.

And came to a note. It sent holiday wishes from Santa, mentioned that if it wasnt Christmas that I should wait to not ruin the surprise (HA! I thought. Christmas, who needs to wait? It has been a bad week. I want presents now!) And it mentioned something about some local conspirators on the gift..... I shall never trust them again!!!

So I open the box to be greeted by---packing peanuts! WHich ended up all over the floor, much to the happiness of my cat. But then, the fun stuff happened.

I received

Which I had REALLY wanted. I love my Mr. Jack game. Don't get to play it enough, but I love it. And now I have it all!!!! Thank you

Which had been on my wish list. And will not get inflicted upon the SABGers. devil

Then, to my utter joy, and there might have been some squeeing and things

it was the long coveted X-deck!!!!!!!!!

and stickers!!!!!!!!

I am happy with all the gaming goodness. And to make things even better, there was some non gaming happiness in it.

Which excited me, since I am starting to read Neil Gaiman, and always need more books.

THANK YOU SANTA!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: I cannot believe I forgot this the first time. See what happens when youa re sick. So I came home. Scrounged through the spielbox issues. Nothing. Then I went -- AH HA!!!!! And remebered that I had this

and in English no less. Much easier to play that way.

Thank you Santa, again. Really. I am sorry for forgetting that I got that. I blame the stomach flu. Yup. You have been most generous.

Ok, Santa.

I know your spies have been watching me. They may have seen my comments on waiting until Christmas to open my gifts. Well, I seem to be weak. A package arrived on my door step yesterday without a name on the return. My wife knew immediately that it must be from good ol' St. Nick. Also, knowing I was having a frustrating day she called me to let me know it had arrived. After some debate on if to open or not I decided to let fate decide and had her open the box to see your wishes. I figured if they weren't wrapped inside then you'd want me to enjoy now instead of later. To my joy they were unwrapped. So, my wife was able to tell me and I was able to have some ray of sunshine.

They were waiting for me to bust open when I got home and get that first smell of the game. A was surprised that Z-man had given us a game that didn't smell horrible that was made in China.

They are perfect choices for me. Games that I've been eying up but not quite sure of.

My son was very exited about a 2 player Dexterity game that he took it into the other room and read up on the rules while I was busting out the other.

I'm sure to get them played in the next couple days.

Thank you so much for Elk Fest and Wasabi!

Wow!

Absolutely Wow!

I think that I may have one of the most generous Secret Santa people out there.

My wife just called to inform me that the Secret Santa gift had arrived (from Oregon) and that my Secret Santa had spent a pretty penny on getting the rather large package delivered to my house.

My wife decided to open the package, since it was her intention to wrap the gifts and make me wait until the 25th (see my comment below about the conspiracy between my SS and my wife...). Low and behold, my Secret Santa took the time to wrap the gifts. Yes, I said "Gifts" as in multiple items.

I am the receipient of 5 (count them 5!) gifts from my Secret Santa. And, as he/she was doing their best, they had contacted my wife via email and found out that my daughters (ages 9 and 7) like to play games with me. So, those 5 gifts represent 2 for me, 1 for my wife, and 1 each for my two daughters!

Fantabulously Awesomeness! I wish I knew who my Secret Santa was so that I could thank them personally, because this definitely goes above and beyond anything I would have ever expected. Thank you very much for your outstanding generousity. May you have a wonderful holiday.

I will update this posting after the 25th, and share with everyone what I received!

Merry Christmas again!

EDIT: You know you have a pretty bad obsession about owning games when you can identify a game received, while still wrapped in the paper, by the SHAPE OF THE BOX!

As far as I can tell from seeing all of the gifts under the tree, without having to open the gifts, that I am the recipient of Dominion and Battle Line. Of course, I have no idea what my Secret Santa procurred for the other household members, but for my gifts, that is my guess. Thanks again, Santa, for your wonderful generosity.

EDIT #2: Our Church Christmas program was this past Saturday. I mentioned to my wife that the Christmas season has now "officially" started, so she let me open the gifts from my Secret Santa early. I was right - I got

And I also received

My oldest daughter (age 9) received

And my wife and other daughter each received a game that is not yet in the database (but are now in the queue for submission). They received a Knizia game called "Ribbit", and another card game called "Somethin's Fishy."

We had lots of fun this weekend playing Sneaks and Ribbit, and my 9-yo daughter has beat me in both games of Dominion that we have played so far.

What an awesome Christmas!

Oh, and my Secret Santa sent me a geekmail a few days after I posted my first edit, and told me to "Stop fondling the gifts".

Oops!

I swear I did not want to open the package. But there was a small tear of the wrapping paper and I could see some yellow from the packaging.

That intrigued me so I had to open the box.

Yay hive Can't wait to play it with my girlfriend!

My secret Santa (from Yuma, AZ) is the best!

Thanks Santa!

P.S. It's snowing like crazy here today, so it definitely makes my life more enjoyable.

Just got here today.

My SS sent me a note about how many OOP wargames were on my list. And he was right. But there's a ton of other stuff on my list too, so I didn't feel bad about all the OOP stuff.

And look what I got. Still in shrink even. I'm thrilled.

OK, my Secret Santa stuff actually arrived quite a while ago and I've been really slow to log it. Sorry, Santa! Don't bring me a lump of coal next year! Here is the generous haul Santa brought me this year:

Fury of Dracula. This one has been high on my list for quite a while.
