For those of you new to this list, I originally posted this list back in 2006 as a way to let my Santa know when I receive my gift without him/her worrying about divulging their identity. The list has gone well in the last two years and I am curious how large it will grow this year since there are around 1000+ participants this year (529 items in 2006, 874 items in 2007). This is a pretty good place to view the gifting as it progresses through the holiday season, so enjoy!

Use this as a central area to record what our Secret Santas sent us. When you post on this list, you may want to make a note on your profile so your Secret Santa knows to look on the list for your receipt and reaction. That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be released!

Please only make an entry when you actually receive the present!

If your Santa sends you more than one item, just list them all in one listing unless you think it makes more sense to list them separately. Remember to include any comments you want your Secret Santa to know!

I don't know about anyone else, but I generally obsess about whether a package has arrived at it's intended destination. I drive my wife crazy with checking tracking numbers constantly! So it will be nice to see when those gifts are actually received by the giftee (or are they just sitting unclaimed on the neighbor's porch?)

To see how the previous two years of Secret Santa-ing have gone on those year's versions of this list, look at these links:

I'm sorry Secret Santa for worrying you... Life at the store is just a tad hectic in the weeks leading up to Christmas and I kept forgetting to post here.

I got my package a few weeks ago and was thrilled to find a copy of Pandemic inside! I've only had one chance to play it before and it kept flying off the shelf so fast when it came into stock that I never had the chance to get a copy.

Thank you very much!

I received a couple geekmails from my Secret Santa just over a month ago. He told me to be expecting a package from overseas and that one domestically would be arriving later. He expected the overseas one to be quick (5 days) according to its website...however, it took a few weeks. I told my husband and he gave me that disapproving look as he does every year shake...that I have to wait until Christmas. My husband taunted me that he would intercept any package before I get a chance to see it. I challenged him to do that...but also told him that my Secret Santa gave me permission to open early.

I waited and waited and a couple weeks ago, I got a pick-up card from the post office that I had a package. Indeed, I did...all the way from Italy! By the way, as I'm typing this here in CT, we've been getting blasted with snow. A good time to hunker down and play some games...that is, after I finish gift wrapping! Back to the package, it was no bigger than the size of an envelope. I knew immediately what it had to be based on my wishlist - a highly coveted item and a limited Essen release - the Funkenschlag Flux Generator to be used with Power Grid. I posted a couple times hoping that I'd be able to get it elsewhere. Thankfully, my Secret Santa came through for me! I'm so happy! I apologize for not posting earlier...busy with school and home...but I was also hoping to mention in this post whatever you planned to send domestically. I'm looking forward to receiving it. I just didn't want to go any longer without letting you know in this forum that I received the card (it was already acknowledged in my owned list).

Thank you so much and happy holidays!
Lynda meeple

*UPDATE* - See Item 1015 for additional items received - thanks!

I checked my mail today and found out I had a nice big package waiting for me
I didn't even entertain the idea of waiting untill x-mas day to open it since I knew it wouldn't last. I opened it up and there was a copy of my most wanted game for the past year: Duel of Ages! Also in the package was a copy of Zertz, from my Secret Santas personal collection nonetheless.

I do want to thank my Secret Santa for not only for keeping in regular contact, but for participating from an overseas country. And of course, for the awesome games!

Secret Santa Rocks Year 2!

Let me start be apologizing to Santa (and Sherman the Elf) -

I work for Capital One so you may be able to imagine that work has been crazy the last few months. Sorry I haven't been faster with my communication!

Early this week my package from Santa arrived and, having received clearance from the big guy, I tore into it to find not one present but FIVE!

The first was RDI2. I had RDI and love playing it so was anxious to get this to the table. On Friday I told my boss three things:

1. My project wasn't done (Due Monday am)
2. I wasn't working all weekend
3. I would try to finish the project Sunday night (I'm taking a break from it right now)

Having set things straight I commence a holiday gaming feast!

Saturday I go RDI2 to the table and had a blast, mind you the Bard can't hold his liquer (nor ale nor mead nor wine) but I'm anxious to try him aagain!

Presents 2 and 3 havent gotten to the table yet either but they're at the top of my list:

2. Battle Ground Fantasy Warfare - Umbezi Tribesmen
3. BGFW Scenario book

4. After all that I've saved the best for last. Sadly I've not played it yet but it will always have a place of honor in my collection. Noting my love for racing games, Santa sent me a custom made Worm Racing game of his own design!!!

Lastly, Santa included a local adult beverage for my step-son who was quite pleased with Santa's selection!

Thank you so much for your generosity and thoughtfulness!

To my SS, many thanks and all the best for you and yours!

The 25th, at last! And one of my anticipated games: Citadels! I'd read much about the game and had wanted to try it for quite a while. This last October, my company sent me over to Dublin, Ireland to train one of the employees. While there, I was able to work out an evening to meet up with Nogser (extremely friendly fellow, like everyone I met in Ireland) for a game of Hammer of the Scots (in which I was soundly, but enjoyably, trounced.) Following that he taught me Citadels and I knew it had to be added into the rotation for my local gamers. It already has a tentative slot for later this evening. (Notice that it did not last more than a few seconds before the shrink wrap was discarded and the cards shown with the 5cent rule-tour given.)

In addition, Mr. T. added a copy of the Set cardgame, which looks like it should be enjoyable, especially with Danita's parents visiting. They are huge Skip-Bo fans and should take to this one as well.

Inside a very nice personalized note containing a flurry of Game title references was a copy of the 10th Anniversary expansion pack to add to my Fluxx deck. Extremely nice to see, as I hadn't even seen it until now!

Many thanks, and a great Holiday to my nsSecret Santa!

(It was nicely gift wrapped, by the way, but I couldn't wait until Christmas... I'm sorry, Santa...)

Thanks Santa!! Thank you so so much! I have the Brazilian version of the original game and it is one of my favorites Brazilian games.

And, as my Santa is such a nice person he also sent me two of my most wanted games Race for the Galaxy (I'm done with my days of begging my friend to bring that game to our game sessions) and Tichu!!

Thanks Santa! Easter Bunny and the Elf responsable for the gift wrapping, delivery and cute little cards.

Once again, I have failed to guess what my BGG Secret Santa brought to me this eyar. I was a little disappointed my "hunt to see what I got" thread was not as good as it was last year, but oh well.

My BGG Secret Santa sent me two gifts. I finally got my mitts on them yesterday adn cracked the paper of the big heavy gift to find 1960: The Making of the President. An hour later, I had it cracked open and ran through a solo game. Oh, it rocked hard, let me tell you.

My second BGG Secret Santa gift was Balloon Cup. Lady X has all ready made plans for us to play tonight and even my wife would like to give it a try.

Thanks a lot, Secret Santa!

Thank you santa (and Rudolph)

First! There was a major coup attempt at the North Pole. I was informed of a very bad gang of elves who were attempting to hurt Rudolph and through a wrench in the entire system.

However, I was not worried when I discovered this about Rudolph's past (he is one tough SOB). I sent this old military clip to my secret santa and let him know that all would be fine.

The secret military life of Rudolph:

When the box arrived I was trying to figure out what game it was. Wow! Ambush!

A game I have always wanted but could not make the financial jump to get it off ebay. The contents are unpunched and it still has the original Victory games feedback card.

I am looking forward to going through the rules and starting on my first mission.

The funny thing is, I think Santa is trying to turn me into a solo wargamer. Last year, secret santa, sent my Duel In The Dark. Ambush and Duel are now my only "official" solo wargames.

Santa, I confess that I was worried becuase I ended up getting a remarkable deal/trade for Dominion and Conflict of Heroes. I couldn't pass the deal up. So, I was worried that you may have gotten me one of those.soblue

Phew.

Thanks again. Rudolph, you are a hero, sir.

Wow...

I came home from work on Friday and discovered that my secret Santa package had finally arrived. It was a nice sized box from Funagain. I initially decided that since it was so close to Christmas that I could just hold out and open them in a few days.

I wanted my wife to go ahead and take a peek in the box just to make sure she wasn't getting me the same thing. She was relieved that she was not, however her excitement at the contents was too much, and I broke down and took a look.

Inside there was Le Havre!!! surprise

Le Havre became a must buy once I first heard about it. Agricola is our very favorite game to play, so this had to be good too. Can't wait to play it.

Also inside was Pandemic! surprise Another must have game on my wishlist. I couldn't believe there were two games in the box. I surely don't deserve such good fortune.

I was taunted a couple of times back in November which made the wait very difficult. It was all worth it though, as Santa really outdid himself this year. I would love to know who sent such a generous package so I could thank them. Santa, if you read this, THANKS!!! My family and I will get much use out of these over the Christmas break.

Now if only my target would give me some kind of sign that his package arrived...surprise

I will write a few words when I open my package. Thanks a lot Santa, have a merry Christmas

The package said from "Secret Santa" and this game was inside. It doesn't exist on my wishlist out of the almost 50 games on it and it's the German version shipped from Flushing, NY.

twas a few days before christmas and I was starting to wonder
had the postal service made an incrdable blunder?
My Secret Santa said my package was sent, but weeks had past, and I'd received nothing yet.
I arrived from work, exhausted and sore, and saw a brown box setting by my front door.
I raced from the car with anticipation and glee, just to find out the box wasn't for me.
Instead what it was, was a gift I bought for someone else, I walked inside to set it on a shelf.
When I came in my wife asked, "Hey, who's that for?"
"It's the coat for you Mother that we ordered from that online store."
then she looked at me strangly as she started to speak,
"no, that came in the mail some time early last week."
So I check the label one more time, then opened the box and revieled it was indeed a coat inside.
At that moment I knew what had been done, down to the basement I started to run.
By the wall I saw the box sit, I checked the label that had my name on it.
This wasn't a box for my Mother-N-Law, it was a box from my secret santa all along.
Back to the kitchen I ran with joy, with the excitement of a ten year old boy.
On the table I sat it with care, or should it go under the tree over there?
In a second or two I had made up my mind, I tore it open to see what was inside.

and what was it....?

BATTLELORE!

Not only was there the game, but also a ton of candy, a card, and a beautiful home made Christmas tree orniment. When I opened the card and read it out load, my wife actually got a bit teary eyed. It was a very heart felt card. Getting a game would have just been awesome, but my secret santa made this gift....special. THANK YOU THANK YOU SS, You have blessed me in many many ways!!

UPS just stopped by. They had a box measuring bout 12 x 14 x 4 and i thought...perfect size for Dominion and a bit of packing.

WOw...was i wrong.

As the last of the amazingly stubborn tape gave way, i was greeted with a layer of foam noodles with just the top of a very small box poking out. It was a copy of

This wasnt on the list...but surprises are good.

I pushed the noodles aside and found the copy of Pandemic. Excellent, a game the family and i can play together...on the same side. Wonder how they will take to the concept of cooperative games.

I was feeling quite happy and was part way through opening Pandemic when i thought i better make sure there wasnt something else in the bottom, though with such a thin box i was not hopeful.

Wow ...was i wrong.

there was not 1, not 2, but THREE more things...

Santa outdid himself (making a gender assumption here...) and I thank him heartily.

I hope eveyrone has a wonderful holiday season and is able to spend it with the ones they care about most.

I got my Secret Santa delivery today and, like a starved jackyl, I wasted no time in eviscerating the box and tearing open the wrapping. The first I opened was this great game! Can't wait to get this on the table with the game group. But what's this now? A SECOND wrapped box!?!

The expansion to one of my favorite card games! I was happy about this one, but had to laugh. Not two days earlier, two friends got me this as well! No worries at all, though. Thanks to BGG and the wonders of the trade system, I'll work this wonderful gift into another game. Thank you very much Secret Santa!
