The Brettspielwelt Tutorial Service

After reading some comments in sodaklady's journal wishing there were some way to set up a group of tutors for various games on BSW, the idea struck me that it could easily be managed through a GeekList.Recommend
Listed below are all of the games on BSW (even the simple ones). If you are willing to teach the game to newbies, add a comment to the appropriate game(s). Include your BSW username, and indicate whether you are willing to teach the game and the interface, or if you want your 'students' to have a grasp on the rules. Of course, it goes without saying that even tutors who are willing to teach the rules will appreciate it if you read the rules yourself beforehand. Before signing up, however, bear in mind that for most games, a person who has read the rules a couple of times is still likely to have some rules questions, since some things probably won't stick until they've played the game a time or two. If you want to, you might want to include some recommended reading or references by including a link to the material.
If you are a prospective student, find the game that you want to learn, and make note of the user names of prospective tutors. Do any recommended reading of the rules, then add them to your BSW watch list by using '/add watch [username]' and then '/save.' When you see that one of your prosective tutors POLITELY approach them, asking if they would be willing to teach you the game in question. Please consider the fact that, just because someone has said that they are willing to teach the game, he or she may not be up to it at the time that you ask them. Teaching a game is more mentally taxing than just playing normally, even if the game you want to learn is Can't Stop, and the game that the tutor is playing is Princes of Florence.
That being said, please don't sign up as a tutor unless you expect to be in the proper frame of mind on a fairly regular basis. If you only feel like teaching a game once a month, you are probably just creating a nuisance for yourself, to say nothing of the people who might want to learn the game.
Hope everyone will find this useful.
