On 22.11. 8 a.m. my wife passed away. She had been hospitalized for past 9 months. Me and our child hoped that she'd recover and return home, but she didn't. She has now become an guardian angel and returned to the stars where she came from. I always thought that she wasn't from this world. When she was with me I felt like the stars shined more brightly. Before I met her I used to think I am alone in this world. After meeting her I wasn't ever alone.

This is a geeklist about the games we played. She wasn't ever a gamer although she always supported my hobby. I found eurogames after she first got in to the hospital. Without her I had emptiness. I tried to fill the emptiness with boardgames. I have had great moments in boardgames after that. If I had the chance I would choose her recovery over boardgames any day. But the option isn't available. My love to our child is the force that keeps me alive. I also believe that this great hobby will make it easier for me to walk on.

I believe this was her favorite game. If I remember correctly she won more games than I did. I bought Maxi yahtzee for her recently, but we didn't get a chance to play it. There is something really addictive in this game. We usually played many games in a row to determine the ultimate winner. The problem with Yahtzee as I see it is that it has too many obvious moves. But of course you can decide to make riskier or safer choice than the obvious move. And it makes Yahtzee a fascinating game. We played this in the hospital too. At some point she told me what dice to throw because she couldn't do it herself.

Before hospitalization she used to love crossword-puzzles. She loved also explaining words. And Alias was the favorite game of the category.

I don't think I ever won her on this. She had an exceptionally good memory. She used to remember all of the small details. She usually remembered exactly things from news papers, although she didn't even properly read through it. I think she had a superior visual memory. Well she was the best in her schools with almost zero effort.

I think this was the first game we ever played together. I remember how painful it was to be without her then. I used to think about her all the time. I still remember the dress she was wearing that day. She loved to wear colorful and extraordinary clothes. And that's what she was as a person, colorful and extraordinary. French Cop Copine clothes were her favorites. Cop Copine clothes seemed like they were made just for her. I can't believe she is gone. We loved each other so much and walked through the difficulties hand in hand. But now our journey together is over.

I think this was the most complex game we played. This game is quite impossible to win if the other player knows the cards and you don't. My wife didn't bother to memorize the cards. We played this in the hospital few times but she was just too ill to enjoy the game. I wish I had found eurogames before her illness, but didn't.

This was her favorite of the euros we tried. She was very visual person and this game rewards visualization. Also it has risk management that she liked too.

This was maybe the most played game we played in the hospital. Some other patient asked that "Did you just throw the pigs when you were home too?"

I wish she could have recovered from the illness. But God decided to take his suffering child back to his kingdom. Rest in piece my love. I will always remember you and the years God let us be together.

I don't know why I didn't at first remember this little gem that we used to play. I think this game is better than Scrabble because of the time-limit and the higher creativity rate. For my wifes burial I am now thinking what music would suit her best. She loved jazz like I do too. I might want to listen Armstrong's Wonderful world at her burial. I think some of the best memories of her are actually related to this game and jazz. On summertime we did frequently go to listen jazz at Vaakahuone. We usually drank red wine and played this whilst listening to jazz. Sometimes we danced too, although we both are really bad dancers. We had fun nevertheless. I doubt I'll ever forget the beautiful summer nights we shared. Vaakahuone locates near to the Aura river that goes through our hometown Turku. If you come to Turku in summer and enjoy jazz the place is highly recommended. My mind seems unable to understand that I can't ever again enjoy jazz with her. I just wonder if our daughter will love jazz one day like her parents. Maybe she'll even play LetraMix one day in the memory of her mother.

I want to thank you all for your support in this dark period of our life. I didn't expect so much compassion. I used the GG that you contributed to buy a geekbadge. Maybe I'll change the text in to something more bright one day. For the moment the darkness dwells in my heart.
