Hi everyone...you might have seen a post or two about the 2009 Spring Gaming Hoopla, being held in Lake Geneva, WI on April 25th and 26th:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/364435
and:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/39365
You can also check out our web site for the latest news: www.gaminghoopla.com.
So, on to this geeklist. This is a list of all the games currently scheduled to be raffled off in our charity raffle. Attendees have the opportunity to buy raffle tickets and win some great games; some donated by publisher sponsors, and some that we purchase.
So, how can you help? We'd love to have any member of BGG that would like to participate make a donation of an in shrink game (which I will then list on this geeklist, lauding the donater for being an excellent and most generous person, hopefully garnering said person many thumbs and large amounts of tips.)
Here's the thing: I will make a personal contribution in cash, matching the value of all games contributed, up to $250 (U.S.) So, let's see it BGG community, what do you have? Remember, all of this is done to raise money for the American Cancer Society!
If you can't donate an in shrink game, but would like to make a donation (ALL of which are donated to the American Cancer Society through a local Relay For Life Team,) you can donate a payment through PayPal to gaminghoopla@gmail.com - just note in the transfer that is a donation, not a pre-registration, and include your BGG user name so that I can thank you properly and that BGG nation takes notice.
If you are a publisher who would like to support our cause, please geekmail me to discuss it.
So, on to the games that are included in the raffle so far...

EDIT:
We've decided to do something a little different with this one. Instead of having it in the charity raffle, we are going to give it away as a door prize. This will be a ticket draw like the raffle, but a bit different. So how do you get a ticket? There are two ways:
1. Attend the Hoopla. Just for attending, you get a Conquest of the Empire raffle ticket.
2. Pre-register for the Hoopla. If you pre-register (ends April 6th, 5pm CST,) you get two extra Conquest of the Empire raffle tickets. Visit www.gaminghoopla.com to pre-register now!
So, if you pre-register, you get 3 chances to win this game!
As with the charity raffle prizes, the drawing will be held on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 pm (approximate.) You need not be present to win, but you do need to put your address or phone number (legibly, please) on your tickets so we can contact you if you win.

The first on the list of games that Out of the Box has donated. A great team game for parties. Easy to learn, fun to play!

Again, thank you to Out of the Box...I may force whoever wins this one to open it on the spot so I can try it.
Your Ninjas must defend the honor of their dōjō against a rival dōjō. Victory hinges on eliminating Ninjas and skillfully venturing into the opponent’s dōjō. But how far do your Ninjas dare to go...and will they return? Every move is critical as you position your Ninjas for defense and ready them for their mission!

Another one that Out of the Box donated...
Unlock your mind for spontaneous laughter! Race to say a common phrase using one word from the previous phrase. Keep the chain going and you keep your links. If the horn blows, the time is up, and you lose a link. The next player reads a new card and the fun continues!

We have another copy of Agricola this year...this time with Mayday animeeples included! This was a huge raffle draw in the fall. I know that the guy that won it was very happy.

This one is the new "hotness" in our group. I've played 3 times so far (always the human, all losses) and am seriously jonesing for another chance at it. Frakkin' toasters!

I got the chance to meet Uwe at Gen Con 2008. My son was immediately drawn to this game, and purchased it at Gen Con. Uwe was very kind, and very willing to help with rules and a test run of one of the scenarios.

I just purchased this one myself, but haven't had a chance to play it yet...I'm hoping to soon, as it looks great, and has a ton of bits.

I've only played this game once, at the house of one of our Guests of Honor, author extraordinaire, Jean Rabe. Jean is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and a fantastic author (and gamer) to boot. I encourage everyone to take the opportunity to talk dragons, dogs, or writing with her at the Hoopla.

This is one that I haven't had a chance to play yet, but my brother owns it, so hopefully I can get my first play in soon.

Thanks to Steve Jackson Games! This one somehow didn't make it on the raffle table at the 2008 Fall Hoopla...don't know how that happened, but it's there now. Included in this raffle item are a few promo cards.

This one is another that somehow slipped through the cracks in 2008, when Slugfest Games was a sponsor. Thanks for your support Cliff...and the whole Slugfest crew!
This is part of a card game bundle that also includes Jericho, Go Wild!, Nottingham, and Relationship Tightrope.
