So a list for those interested in some new games and some old ones. It seems a lot of the newer games are fairly light to medium games. I'll add more commentary as time allows and more items as they come up...
Final thoughts. It seems a lot of the new releases were light family fair and I probably would have gone gaga over them a few years ago, but now I have to be a bit more picky about the games I buy since I'm out of room for new games. None on the games were bad, they just lacked the pizazz to make me fall in love with them instantly.

Played this on my first night arrival. A quick game, kind in the same vein as Take It Easy, in that each player has matching board and discs numbered 1-12 which you are trying to get in order by random dice rolls. On the good side it plays very quickly.

Played first thing in the morning. Production game-buy factories, produce and sell old cars. You get to do some role picking as well. Nothing too heavy here but some interesting aspects. No bail outs here -repayment of loans is mandatory! Took around 2 hours with explanation. Have played again and I like this game. Played a 5 player and a 3 player game. Worked well with both numbers.

You get to be an adventurer trying to maximize collection of gems and fulfillment of contracts for the gems. Light family fair. Takes about 45 minutes. Both this and Burger (see below) have similarieties in feelto some of M. Schacht's other games like Hansa. Pick up and deliver. The "books" where you get equipment and contracts from are clever.

Another light family game that takes about 45 minutes. Has a rondel in which to collect fruit sets which you can trade in for points. Each player places there piece any where on the rondel and takes 1 fruit of that color to start with. There afteeer you move the number of spaces on the rondel equal to the number of player tokens on your starting space and then collect fruit equal to the number of player tokens on your ending space. Then you can collect donkeys by passing certain spots on the rondel. The donkeys then can be used to turn in the fruit to get the point tiles. You also have some special player tokens you can use.

Yet another light family game, tile placement where similar tiles can reward you with big points. Having played twice now, I enjoyed it both times but I think there is a replayability issue. Getting big scores with the doubling mechanism for points is helpful.

My favorite of the week so far Tetris x Take It Easy. If you like Tetris and Ubongo type puzzles, this new offering from Knizia is right up your alley. Each player has identical templates. You are trying to cover up spaces with the Tetris pieces to prevent negative scores but leave certain marked spaces open for bonuses. Each player starts with a different piece but then like in Take It Easy a random shape is drawn that all players must then use.
Very popular with the 2 copies available in constant use. A must buy for me.

Tried the new dice game from the Alea small box line. A decent short dice fest. Yahtzee, Alea style?!

Played this older Dirk Henn. This is a nice stock game and I can't believe it's not scheduled to be republished.

A great race game. I think I like this a bit better than Powerboats. The sled speed movement and drift are nice mechanisms.

Finally a nice meaty game. Tied with AoS as my favorite Wallace game. The only problem was starting after 11 pm. We made it through eventually.

Tried this release from Essen 2008. The rules were difficult to quickly assimilate so having someone teach is very helpful. The game has some interesting aspects and is a bit on the tactical side. Not a must buy for yet as the game was a bit fiddly with the top knots falling off and the markers to claim statues not staying on when moving the statues around the island. Would definitely play again but not sure if I'll buy it yet.

Stock type game. A bit much to wrap my tired brain around as a lot of different things going on in the game. Was nice of the designer to teach this one to us.
