Best Bang for the Buck! The Cheapest Games per Play
- Jon Enns(jayboy)Canada
A couple of years ago I decided I wanted to find out how much it was costing me per play to play my games. The idea was to justify the games I had already bought recently (this list does not include my 'old' games) and to further justify getting more. I got the idea that if each play of a game was no more money than to rent a movie (or perhaps less for shorter games) then it was worthwhile and if it was costing more perhaps not. Of course, over time this figure continues to drop and I re-do this list in my game journal every 3 to 6 months. I figure that this way it will be easy to tell when I should stop (or at least slow down) on buying new games. Heaven forbid!Recommend
The prices are in Canadian dollars and obviously are based on the price I paid. I have been buying most of my games from an excellent online retailer who has become like a friend.
The cheapest games per play on this list are not necessarily played the most. These are simply the games that are either the most often requested or were the least expensive to purchase or a combination of the two. Incidentally, some of the games that are hitting the table the most are not necessarily my favorites. Some that are higher in cost per play I would dearly LOVE to play more often.
Lastly, I did not include the cost of any expansions on the following figures since the main game always has to hit the table whether its expansions are used or not. (It also helps to justify my game expenditures - we'll just say the expansions are freebies!)
What are you paying per play? If you know feel free to add.
