The Crokinole tournament was one of the highlights of the Geekway for me. I look forward to making it a permanent addition. It was easy to organize (although I'll be MORE organized next time) and seemed like people had a lot of fun.
Thanks to Chris Darden and Scott Reed for making their boards available.
Power Grid - Interesting game, I wish that I was better at bidding games and could have gotten a handle on the money aspect, but you live and learn.
Battlestar Galactica - EPIC game....in the first two go arounds, Galactica was surrounded, five civilian transports were lost, and already two cylons were aboard the ship. All of us managed to turn things around and we reached Kobol near the red zone with 2 morale and 2 fuel.
Geekway Friday
Condotierre - fun and fast, I managed to pull off a win at the end thanks to a fierce card battle that ended in a forced surrender. As a result, nobody could stop me from seizing the last third adjacent province to win.
Confucius - Fun and engrossing game, I came across this one by accident and played it once learning the rules. Played it a second time and had a blast. Nice mix of Perikles and Byzantium without the game being too complicated. Definitely going to be adding this one to my game collection in the future.
Twilight Struggle - After some great fun, I decided to take a break from group games and hunted around for someone to playing me in TS. Fortunately, I came across Herb Lane who was looking for a game to join too and he had never played Twilight Struggle, so I sat down to show him the funness. He learned quickly and almost achieved a Soviet win in Turn 5, but I managed to come back from brink to win the game in Turn 10 final scoring.
I'm indebted to Herb for playing as well because I had plans to leave the convention at 7 pm, but he was doing to so well that I stuck around later to see how the game would turn out. As a result, my name was drawn for the game drawing at 7:30 pm. I got Warcraft: the Adventure Game and had the pleasure of playing another good game of TS. I owe you one Herb!
Here's the games I played and acquired at this year's Geekway. I thought I'd played more, but apparently the marathons of Crokinole and Micro Mutants took up the majority of our time
I'm eagerly awaiting a geeklist of the draft order at the trade table. I know the information was recorded, and I'd gladly take time to put it up if I can get my hands on it. Jeff? Anyone?

Hopefully once this is up, folks will comment about the games they put in and why they picked stuff.

I missed getting in a game with you this year. I've enjoyed playing with you the last couple of years.
