As more info is coming in, this list is starting to take shape.

To let you better follow the updates, the list is currently ordered by date. The newest added games are always the last on the list. As we get closer to Essen, and you start using this list to make your shopping/try lists, I will change the sorting order to alphabetical.

At the moment still the porcelain penguins are the only finished parts of this game (and are in a ship on an ocean currently). This game I will not release in Essen. (Don't know when/if later.) So I should not have added this game to the BGG-database. First time I announced a game so early ... lesson learned?

Next week I can announce all games which ARE ready for release at the Essen-fair.

I played that at Hedelberger's game event. It is a nice little game for 2 pairs of players. One is seeing a picture of a "building" (aka "The architect"), the other one ("The builder") tries to build that with 6 colored pieces without knowing the final picture. The funny thing is that the architect is speaking "neandertal", so only URG, HUGUHUGU and alike + body movement for color coding (nodding head, shaking hips,...). The tricky part is that the words always have two meanings: forward/backwards, left/right,... In order to tell the builder if he/she did the right thing you got a big plastic hammer to hit him/her if the action was wrong.

Its a sort of inverted building game: Instead of hiring qorkers to erect buildings, ou hire workers to destroy them. It has an interesting auction which features a maximum bid.
Played an early prototype and liked what I saw, althgough the game would have changed quite a lot by now.

This full color Steam and Age of Steam expansion contains three maps with challenging and creative mechanics, including one 3-5 player map and two 2 player maps. These three maps are joined by the immediate post-war time period of rebuilding and expansion westward.

Oklahoma Land Rush is a 3-5 player expansion that has players rapidly expanding west to claim land. 1867 Georgia Reconstruction is a 2 player map that builds on the partially destroyed railroads immediately following the war, and South Carolina pits two players against each other as they struggle to deal with an influx of goods from Charleston while paying off the corrupt goverment officials that are exploiting the post-war rebuilding efforts.

Part of the Bezier Games 2009 Essen package (which includes Age of /Steam Expansion - Alabama Railways, Antebellum Louisiana & Four Corners, Age of /Steam Expansion - 1867 Georgia Reconstruction, South Carolina & Oklahoma Land Rush & Age of /Steam Expansion - Beer & Pretzels). This full color Steam and Age of Steam expansion contains three maps containing unique twists, including two 2 player maps and one 3-5 player map. These maps are joined by a common pre-Civil War time period, where railroad expansion was happening throughout the South and West.

Four Corners challenges you to build balanced railways in the Four Corners (Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado) section of the United states. Alabama Railways is a tight 2 player map that will test your ability to create low income railroads for rural Alabama, and Antebellum Louisiana has you not just creating tracks but also establishing new towns throughout the state.

The perfect light-strategy Steam and Age of Steam map that's also a complementary map to the new Beer & Pretzels standalone game. This expansion is only available through preorders (see http://games.bezier.com/direct.html).

If you need a break from the euro-hassle of victory points and A/P prone players who are trying to optimize the number of shares they take, then this is the map for you. No VPs. No income or share track. And best of all, no expenses. You get cash money when you make a delivery. And whoever has the most money at the end of the game wins. Simple enough that casual gamers can get Steamed. This is the anti-18xx train experience that even 18xxers will find engaging.

Part of the Bezier Games 2009 Essen package (which includes Age of /Steam Expansion - Alabama Railways, Antebellum Louisiana & Four Corners, Age of /Steam Expansion - 1867 Georgia Reconstruction, South Carolina & Oklahoma Land Rush & Age of /Steam Expansion - Beer & Pretzels). Winsome Games

Two Age of Steam expansions are provided: AoS: Finland combines the Lakes geography and discrete linkage position of the country into an interesting game of opportunity and challenge. AoS: Portugal is a long thin map joining the mountainous north with the flatter south, with Lisbon in the center of this historical expansion.

Agricola Memo-Spiel
Agricola Puzzle

This is from the gaming card manufacturer ASS Altenburger, not from Lookout Games.

"Quartett" is "Happy Families"
"Schwarzer Peter" is "Old Maid"
Memo-Game is a sort of Memory
There will be 5 different puzzles, ranging from 27 to 51 pieces.

Who said Agricola is not a family-game?

Well considering it's a farming game, I guess it was only natural to expect them to milk the cow.

Not to mention Jumping the Shark.

I think these guys just broke the world-wide all-time speed record for doing so.

Agricola - Die Moorbauern

First expansion for Agricola by Lookout Games.
New actions, new special cards, new type of animal.

In short: You start with some forest and marsh chits on your board. You need to remove them to use the space, but you get stuff for it. There are special actions that help you remove the tiles and receive the extra stuff, among which there is a new type of resource you need to pay each harvest (heat markers for your rooms). That's the basic idea. There are a lot of new improvements and a new type of animal - horses.

The Aladdin's Dragons card game (a.k.a. Morgenland Kartenspiel) is one of two games being published by R&D Games at Essen 2009. The other game is The BoardGameGeek Game (TBGGG).

I'm happy (of course!) to take pre-orders for Essen attendees. The cost of the Aladdin's Dragons card game is 8 Euro. The TBGGG is 35 Euro. If both games are ordered the cost is 40 Euro.

Simply mail me at richard@qbreese.fsnet.co.uk or through the Geek.

No payment in advance is required.

Games should be collected before the close of the show on Friday from the R&D stand number in hall 4, number 4-112. Uncollected games will be released for sale on the Saturday.

Oh, man. And to think THIS is the year I choose (okay, with healthy prompting from Lovely Wife) not to go.

I'm going to have to put serious thought into how I can arrange for proper mule service...
