Four Thousand Games this decade

I've tracked games since 2001, and I've finally hit 4k games played. OK, I'm one game short, but I'll get in a few games in tomorrow. By BGG's count, I've played 553 unique titles, but that counts expansions and whatnot, so it's probably 500 or so. Needless to say, most of them got played once or twice.
So, here are all the games I've played 10+ times, as well as notable games that I've played less often ...

If Shadowfist is on a geeklist, it must be mine. I was playing 100+ games a year for most of the decade, but in the last two years I've fallen to a few dozen games a year. I just don't have to the time for multiple game nights during the week, and I'd rather play boardgames my one night out. (The lack of new expansions over the last year hasn't helped). Still, this game stands out ahead of the rest by a large amount.

I'm an early adopter (having gotten the chance to play the game at conventions before it was published), and the games still keep coming, a few games here, a few games there. Pretty soon, you are talking real numbers. Amazingly, there are people who have played 5x or 10x as much as I have.
Times Played -- 288 (Counting games logged under the expansion. I just got the 2nd expansion but haven't played it).

Back in college, Bridge was my premier game. But I stopped playing for a while; last year I got back into it and started playing seriously again, almost all of the plays logged are within the last 15 months. (Unlike most games, I do log online time, since I'm gaming with people I know but happen to be geographically isolated from). Since I'm logging tournament sessions (mainly), each 'game' is around 3 hours.

Eclipsed (in my mind) by Race for the Galaxy, I still pull this out once or twice a year. If I counted online plays, the numbers would be much higher...

Obviously 'fillers' are going to take up the top spots on any list of games sorted by # of plays, and so my dice game of choice shows up. This is also one of my daughter's favorites ....

Two small seasons (just one home and away series versus every other team) and a handful of individual games. "Bunco for boys" says the wife. She may be onto something.

The first (board)game I obsessed about this decade got most of its plays in the first year of existence, but still hits the table every now and then. (Two months ago in fact).

A sleeper that went under my radar (and many other peoples) but that served as "The other Race For the Galaxy" for a while, and still gets pulled out.

I think I actually prefer this to Court the King, but a) it only plays two players, b) you need some house rules and c) it's too complicated for the kids. Still, it managed to break the 50 games mark.

Once you count up all the various maps and expansion games, this almost hits fifty, and then there are 100-ish games on BSW. Lots of groups like this enough to play several times a year. Certainly all the groups I've ever gamed in...

I like this, but most of the plays were two player games right when it came out. 40 games in one year, three games since.

Really just a tribute to the "[Our last player] will be here in five minutes" nature of the game.

O Milton Bradley! Hear my plea! Take the greatest trivia game of all time and grant us up to date questions! For we have gamers in our group who were born after this game, and many of us do not remember vice presidential candidates and minor movie stars from before WWII.

Almost exclusively hold'em. Why can't we have more 7 card stud or Raz tournaments? Or even Omaha?

Probably the first "Flash in the pan" for the decade. After 25 or so plays, the luster wore off.

Another game that still gets pulled out from time to time, although nothing like so much as its first year or two on the scene.

I doubt that I've recorded the right number of games, since often we just play for an hour and I record 2-3 games.

Probably the most infuriating trivia game I enjoy. We stopped playing once we went through all the cards for the base set and 1st expansion. It's probably been long enough we could play again.

If I were recording games from 1990-2000, L5R would rule the list, probably with 750+. But I pretty much gave up the game for Shadowfist in late '99. Still, I played every now and then (and I kept most of my cards).

Slow and steady wins the race, and Ra's earned a place in the "Games played 25+ times" list by hitting the table 1-2 times a year (after the intial burst of games).

A borders near my house had a Scrabble night where the high score got a $10 gift certificate .... and for a while, no tournament players noticed. Ka-ching! (Then they noticed). My second most profitable game on the list.

Unique titles stands at 384.
Of course these numbers include expansion plays and online plays (but only against real people).
I would like to dig the expansion stats out sometime and see what the real figure is.
EDIT - Look at us...we mightn't have pecks but hot damn do we have some numbers!
