There is no language on any of the gameplay components except for the rulebook, which is in English.

Another question(s) concerning the prepainted minis.

Will they be available at Essen 2009, too?
And if so, how much will they cost?
Or is the Box at Essen a special one with prepainted minis included?

Prepainted minis will be at Essen, as to the sales method I'll have to talk to our owner and he's out on a business trip today. I'll get the answer as soon as I can.

Why the higher price tag on this one?

It seems to be a card game which are usually lower priced..

Too expensive for a card game. Why so high prices???

I'm generally not one to debate prices with customers, as I'm not the one who sets them for our company. But I will provide a comparison:

An 85 card starter deck of a CCG runs about 10-11€.

Thunderstone is 550 cards, as well as extra cards for noting XP, a sorting tray, etc. It's almost double the amount of cards you'd get in a CCG for the same price (and with the CCG you probably wouldn't be through buying!).

So anyway, take that for what its worth to you. I can't tell anyone what is or isn't expensive, that's a personal decision.

Let us compare it with Dominion.

Dominion has a MSRP of 30 € in Europe (Of course you can get it cheaper, but this will most likely also be true for Thunderstone after its release).


so we have a difference of 10 €.

Where does it come from.


1. Dominion has a bigger print run than Thunderstone (a sure bet, multiple languages, Spiel des Jahres multiple big publisher behind them)
2. Dominion has less cards (500 to 550) (given that should only result in some pennys)
3. Artwork, dominion has iirc 33 artworks, 25 Kingdom cards + trash + 3coin + 3vp + curse. Thunderstone has 38 kingdom cards (monsters, treasure, village) + artworks for basic village items each monster deck has more than one artwork (judging from the available pictures). Imo, this is the main reason behind the price, artwork is expensive.


40 € is expensive, but imo it is fair compared to Dominion. Of course this is just a little asumption on the available infos.

this one is lots of pulp serial fun

Been a massive fan of the PnP version of Rush N' Crush for the past 5 years, and have had umpteen brilliant sessions with it. The retail version is surely the cherry on the cake.
