This is a geeklist for mystery-themed board games that illustrate their theme with mechanics unlike the classic Clue deduction "what's in your hand" mechanic. What are some games that use other techniques to simulate the feeling of solving a mystery?

In this game, you can actually win by making correct revelations about the murderer than the player who actually deducted who it was. It's not common, but it can happen.

This has been the mystery game of the moment in my home for a while now.

However you're not really trying to solve a mystery as beat everyone else to being the killer. The mechanic involves getting the getting the intended victim alone with you then attack him with a weapon [card required] or just poke him in the eye then hoping that your opponents have run out of failure cards to stop you.

In "Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective" you have a newspaper, city address book, and a clue book to use to try to solve the mystery in so many steps. Either play solitaire or in partnership with other players trying to solve the mystery in as few clue steps as possible. This game is unique and requires knowing how to best use the reference resources at hand, rather than playing like "Clue" where you have a checklist to cross out the improbabilities to decipher the probables. Unique and cleverly constructed game.
