I attended our newest Sacramento area game night at a local game store, Great Escape Games. The game night is still smaller that our Tuesdays at Crepeville. We had about 16 people in attendance last night.

Here are the games I played and saw others playing. Please add any I might have missed, or comments about the games you played that I did list.

For more information about our group, please visit the Sacramento Board Game Meetup site.

D.K., Nick, and Jeremy were getting ready to play this when they arrived. I seriously thought about joining them, but decided not to do to the length of the game and the fact that my son had brought a friend to game night.

I opted to start my evening with this filler, partially to introduce Michael's friend, Sally, to an easy game, and partially because Marcus wanted to wait for his son to finish his homework before playing something else. John W. showed as we were pulling this out, so we ended up playing with 6.

Marcus - 50
Michael - 42
Kevin - 39
John W. - 39
Sally - 27
Phil - 20

Michael, Sally, and I were joined by Will for our next game. Will and Sally were playing for the first time. Will got the King first, and Michael and Sally did not have enough dice to challnge. I could not take the king away in the roll off, giving Will the win.

My question is were they still playing when you left? That is a weekend only game for me

It was the only game they played. They packed up before I left; I'm not sure how far they got in their game.

Phil instructed MArcus and his son (Charlie) and they picked it up quickly.

Charlie picked up an imposing number of vp tokens, but I eked out the win (my first in T&T?), 23 to 18.

Phil almost proudly announced that he got 4 points.
That was an amazing display of german postal route inefficiency. laugh

Next up, Josh joined Sally, Michael, and I for a game of this. I could never get my engine going. Michael and Sally collected most of the provinces.

Sally - 33
Michael - 30
Kevin - 16
Josh - 9

Josh and Michael played another game of this.

Phil and John W. joined me for one of my favorites to finish off the evening. I was one away from winning, but sure I would be blocked. However, neither did, giving me the win on my turn.

wow!
This is one of your favorites, Kevin?
It just seemed so luck-based to me, when obviously it's a strategy game.
I'm curious - what do you like about it so much?

Thanks for teaching me, BTW - I like that it was fast and doesn't have too many rules/complexities.

Kevin,
thanks for reporting this. Overall, I would call the additional/night locale a success so far-it isn't pulling folks away from the original Tuesdays at Crepeville, and it even brings in others such as JohnW who find it tough to get into Mid-Town. I hope to check this out soon myself.

Sixteen is a decent crowd and I like the diversity of games tabled from light to heavy and in between.
