Another game day at the library. I'd guess there were easily over 20 people there. Please add any games I missed or comments you'd like to add.

Railroad regulars Scott, Jean, David M., and Afshin played this.
Edited to correct the game entry. I originally posted this as Railroad Tycoon.

It's been awhile since I've seen this game played at a Saturday meetup. Jeremy and three others played this former-champ.

I'm not sure how many times it was played or whether the expansion was involved, but I know I saw this group-favorite floating about.

I've been wanting to try this GMT game for awhile, and got the chance today with DK, Aaron, and Afshin. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed, but that could have been because there was really no combat in this particular game. Everyone seemed to explore their own little niche of the ocean, and with the exception of some event cards being thrown at each other, no aggression was seen. I think combat would have made the game more interesting.
I had built up a large army but saw a chance to hit 22 VPs (which would trigger the end game) and I took it. Little did I realize that Afshin was able to hit 23.5 VPs on that same turn. D'oh. I guess I should have attacked him instead.

Aaron has been wanting to try this one for awhile, so DK went home to pick it up. DK took on the role of the free peoples, while Aaron played Sauron and Joe played Saruman.
I heard that Minas Tirith survived for an incredibly long time, a lone island of defiance against the sea of red armies in the south. Gondor fell and it looked like Rohan didn't do much better, but the north remained strong and the fellowship, after a rocky start, skipped it's way through Mordor to dunk the ring without much trouble.

I believe this was played at least three times today. I always enjoyed this game but never seem to get a chance to play it much, so I was glad to get in a couple of plays.
In one game Chris had a nice combo of cards that saw him get 12 VPs on every consume, and he started a pattern of production/consume that seemed certain to win the game. I ended it as quickly as I could with 12 planets/developments and somehow managed to beat him by a few points, largely thanks to a New Galactic Order and 10 military points (the largest military I've ever been able to produce in that game), the Rebel Homeworld and another 6 point development.
In another game John managed to nab the win by a couple of points largely due to a nice combination of Alien planets.

Frank, Melody and I played a combination of Munchkin Bites (with expansion) and Munchkin Cthulu (not sure if all the expansions were used here).
Melody got off to a strong start with Frank right behind her, while I floundered horribly. Charity ultimately allowed me to gain some levels, but Frank was at 9 and Melody 8 when I finally hit lvl 7. Frank won the game by drawing a card that allowed him to make someone a cultist. Since I already was a cultist, he choose Melody, thus making him the last non-cultist which gave him the last level he needed for the win.

I know Phil had been wanting to play this, and finally got his wish at the end of the night. Scott, Jean, David M. and perhaps one other joined him. I didn't hear who won.

My last game of the evening is this new favorite, played with Jeff, Frank, Melody and Afshin. Though I still love the game, I seem to do worse every time I play it. Somehow, I allowed myself to be completely shut out of the low-end cars during the last two turns of the game. To attempt to make up for this, I went all out on mid-value cars, usually failing to sell one or two of them, but at least I made some money. Jeff won pretty handily with Frank not too far behind him.

I saw Scott and Jean teaching this game to a group of six or so. I only caught the beginning of the game, and marveled at the fact that even though the machine gun was out, no one seemed to be attacking each other much. Looks like that group played differently than most games I've played where people just start attacking each other without trying to find out who is who.

Aaron, DK and I played this for the first time. Aaron was killed and eliminated at round 8 of 9, and DK was headed to a crushing victory. Except he was infected by the wereboar, which gave me the opportunity to kill him and steal the victory. Ha, ha, ha.

Jeff, Afshin, DK and I played this two times to end the night. The first time I'd played this. Two ugly losses for the monks.

I'll also throw this out as a game that hit the table, but did not get played. Afshin read the rules, but it was too late in the evening for Jeff, DK and I to have the energy to make sense of them, so we decided to put it away. Looks interesting though.
