Phil and I were hankering for some Power Grid, and Conny was kind enough to join us. We chose the Benelux "fast board". Conny had played PG once or twice, but needed a refresher. I overbought early, and could not always synch my houses with the plants. Still, I had a good infrastructure in the middle of the board, hanging in the middle of the turn order. Conny led us into Step 2, so I began gearing up for the end game. I overbought (60 or so) the coveted 50/6 fusion plant. I also had the 3-->6 garbabe and finished with the 5 Wind plant. So I could power 17, 11 for free and with the only Garbage plant, was in good shape. Conny kept up the pressure, ending the game and powering 16 cities. At the game end I had and powered 14.

Still, Benelux is a fun board and it's good to snag some of the other plants that don't make it through in classic PG.

Looking for something quick after Power Grid: Benelux, I suggested my fave go-to Tweener, China. Conny has played a few times, and Phil once before. The emissary jockeying was brutal, and fill connected a couple of roads. I tried to be efficient with 2nd place scoring and except for Conny putting 2 houses in Purple (to Phil's 4 or so and my 1), I succeeded. Phil's roads made the difference.
Scoring: End of Game/+ Roads/ + Emissaries/Total
Phil:29/+10/+5/44 Davido: 23/+4/+12/39 Conny: 23/0/+4/27
As always, a tense, but fun 45 minutes

Not quite ready to wrap it up, we opted for a fun game that we all (well, all but Tedd) knew and didn't have to think too hard to end the night. We played the "I don't feel like sorting them out, so let's play with all the tickets" version of 1910

I kept Phoenix-Boston, Denver-El Paso, and Montreal-Chicago. THe West was won first, but I managed to get the core tickets done. I drew 4 crappy tickets, keeping Winnipeg to Houston. I had to work to avoid blockage. I succeeded in snagging a 4 green route from Tedd, but ended up a blue or a locomotive from completing the route.
Phil and Nick went ticket crazy and it paid off in spades. Globetrotter bonus-Phil Transamerica bonus-Robert
