Over two dozen gamers crowded the back/side tables at Crepeville. I was tucked in the corner, so I may have missed some games n names.

I was first to arrive at Crepeville and DK arriving soon after sent the ol' ticker a flutterin'. Coz that meant: DOOMTOWN! Both of us were itching to slap some leather. DK didn't have his decks with him. Since the regular games would start soon, I decided to keep it primal and simple. Collegium New Front (+1 influence/gadgeted dude and +1 VP for studs aced via gadgets) verus the Sioux (basic home).

I took Collegium and DK the Sioux.
Collegium: Gunther Hathworp (defends the Home), PeevieXP (hit stuff hard), Alice Chamberlain (invent stuff on the cheap), Prof. Susan Franklin (makes the GhostRock).

Sioux: Wise CloudXP (Shaman in residence), Billy Iron Horse and Seeking Fury (card draws par excellence), Tioga Joe (head enforcer).

No real chess match here. Beef up Peevie vs. send Tioga Joe on the warpath. Both decks are designed to be 4 of a kind, with easy straight flushes Jacks/8/7.

Alice quickly produced the Flamethrower and Greased Lightning Pill and Peevie was looking at +8. The Sioux pulled a Rain Dance for Wise Cloud to shake his ol' Moneymaker Billy and Seeking also found a bow and arrow for Tioga, and Medicine for Wise Cloud. The Sioux controlled Barbershop and St. Martin's Parish plus a pair of 0/+1 strikes.

I sent Peevie to the Barbership and later Abel Owens to the St. Martin's Parish. Tioga Joe went over to the Barbershop. Peevie was spoiling for an oilin' and called out Tioga and readied the Flamethrower.

Too bad, Tioga Joe pulled a "Caught with your pants down", so ix-nay on the goods n gadgets. Instead of +3 (TJ) vs. +3+2+3 for Peevie, it was an even match which favored TJ due to his not aced unless beaten by 3 ranks. With both jokers in my deck still, I was counting on the massive card draw to get the requisite ranks. We both did Full House, but Joe was saved by his card ability and Peevie was aced. A move to the Town Square found Tioga Joe between Alice's procuring an autoincendiary bullet (ace a dude) and Abel. playing Stoker vs. Knicknevin to call out Abel Owens, Tioga finished off the other Collegium stud. At this point, with plenty of Sioux being recruited by Billy and Seeking, we called it in favor of the Sioux.

I knew this was a tough matchup, but I wanted a quick n dirty shoot 'em up, and got it. It's always a pleasure to play with DK. I hope to incorporate some new cards and deck ideas for future (hopefully soon matchups).

Speaking of chaotic-remember, being Chaotic means never having to say your sorry. Or at least that was probably one of many excuses offered up by the grovelers to the Dark Overlord. Nick and three others had a boisterous good time with this story-telling card game.

I ended my night learning this area enclosure game from Chris. Not my fave mechanic (although I like Domaine better than another area enclosure game that Chris taught, TerraNova), but still an interesting play. I managed to enclose some forests and a mine, then expand to a second mine to get an economic engine going. My second domaine found me in a corner with plenty of room to expand (11 points). I beefed up the Knights and kept expanding. The endgame found Chris and I exchanging deserters, but I was able to play a second deserter to swing the knights 4-2 in my favor. I did a final expansion to swing a forest/city combo my way. the 8 point swing (4 for me, 4 lost to Chris) turned the tide.
